We went as packaged-up with our tour so expected a fairly standard buffet and to fill ourselves up. To be fair, a lot of the food was actually quite nice. Usual problem with buffets though, food not hot enough. Wife went down with food poisoning...that evening and didn't eat anywhere else in the time frame. Seems to be a recurring theme on these reviews. Coffee was also tepid and pretty horrible despite claimed 85 degree temperature on outside of pot. Finally, when it says soft drinks included doesn't include water despite being cheaper on the menu than coke which is included. Recommend you wander across to the fast food cafe across the way which has a lively communal feel to it.More

Service was good, food was average. This is more just a convenient location at the base of Machu Picchu. If I did it all over again I would go into Agua Calientes for lunch. There are many many options with amazing views to choose from....Do not make the same mistake that I made by reading into "this is the only restaurant in Machu Picchu". It is the only restaurant up there, but after your tour of Machu Picchu you have to go to Agua Calientes anyways to leave.More

Our tour agency booked us in for lunch here. Loved the buffet spread. Was a very convenient option being located up at Machu Picchu.

When I arrived at the restaurant I was close to heat stroke. Cannot thank the man on the entry turn style too much, he looked after me throughout my visit. Gary Guia Thordy I think was his name. When I finally felt better, I was...ready for the amazing feast that awaited. A stunning buffet offering so much variety of beautifully cooked food. Couldn't recommend it too highly. Just incredible when you realize where it has to come from to produce such wonderful cuisine..More

We had the lunch buffet at this restaurant as it was part of our tour package. There were good choice of items on the buffet including fresh fruits, appetizers, entrees and desserts. There were good vegetarian options too. The food was tasty but nothing extraordinary....The price of the buffet was super expensive and we would never have eaten here if it was not included in our tour price of Machu Picchu. Also one of the members in our group who had food allergies got sick after eating here and threw up soon after the lunch. Considering all the pros and cons, I would not recommend this place.More

We ate here to avoid the long queue for the bus. It tasted nice but within 30 minutes my girlfriend was throwing up, and 2 hours later me too. This was the only thing we ate all day. Later one of the tour guides told...us they have regular reports of sickness following visits to this placeMore

It's the only resturant on Machu Picchu. I will give it that. But that's all. If you are pressed for time and need food that is ready and right there go for it. Just dont expect much. This buffet was something like $40. It was...noisy, kinda busy and the food was terrible. We should have gone down to town(only a 30 min drive by bus) and eaten a wonderful Peruvian dinner at on of the many restaurants there. We regret or decision and want all to know. I am not trying to be petty. The staff was great. My recommendation is pack a snack and go back to town. Have a great trip!!! TMore

Not quite sure how much this buffet costs because we all went there as part of a tour, though there was a good amount of selections, the food was good and more or less the same offerings were setup in two areas , so it...wasn’t too crowded. Service was a bit slow to clear dirty plates. Bathrooms are clean. We also went to high tea here the same day which was nicer than what you’d expect based on the buffet. Pleasant experience for sure. They even have fresh water stations to refill your reusable bottleMore

Arrived early so was first for the buffet when opened at 1100 so no queues. Did get busier by the time we left just before 1200. Food was lovely and well presented . Soft drinks included . Did not try coffee. Toilets very clean ....Price is $40 which seems expensive by Peruvian standards but you pay for the location.More
