Went to the restaurant for breakfast and dinner as part of stay. Have to say the food was absolutely first class. Beautifully served by a great and friendly team of staff. Nothing was any problem and could not ask for me. Part of the whole...Machu Picchu experience and amazingMore

This restaurant is located at the entrance to Machu Picchu. Clearly, it is an upscale restaurant. There are 2 places to eat at the entrance, this place and a cafeteria right across this restaurant. We paid $40 USD for the lunch buffet. And yes it...was expensive, but we were hungry and we wanted to sit and have a great lunch. They have a big selection but nothing out of the average buffet lunches. The setting was nice and the service was very good.More

The crispy pork dish was so good - juicy on the inside, crispy on the outside. The chicken came with cauliflower whip and a gravy-like substance. Desserts were intriguing. Must order a pisco sour! Thank you to our waiter, Carlos, for giving us such attentive...service and a great experience!More

Tampu Restaurant has a good chef who seems to enjoy his food preparation and this is complimented by very good servers, in particular Carlos who is world class! As it is the only restaurant at the top of the mountain and you have time, then...it is worth a visit. If you are (unfortunately) staying at the Sanctuary Lodge, it is your only option. I do not recommend the pisco sours as the pisco is not of good quality.More

The service here was absolutely amazing. No request was too big for them. They had some amazing welcome drinks that were all made from local produce like cactus seed and lemon water with ice. Was amazingly refreshing after a long day of trekking. I had...the lomo saltado for my lunch and it was exquisite. It is a bit pricey but for what it is but absolutely worth it. Costed two of us $70 for a light lunch yet perfectly adequate. Highly recommend it if price is no barrier.More

The package of Hiram Bingham included afternoon tea at the restaurant. When we were about to finish observing the ruins, it began to rush as the rain became stronger. Although I did not expect this teatime so much, there are variety...of petit cakes, plentiful desserts, favorite drinks, salads and Western daily dishes prepared, and after having walked by the ruins searching, it is too much content to satisfy hunger did. My son was delighted with this. The time to wait for the bus to go down to Aguascalientes came in quickly and I left the restaurant with the thought that I wanted to relax a little more.More

We booked a self-guided tour of Peru & Bolivia and when contacting our travel agent one of my only 100% definite I am not going to budge on criteria was I’m staying in the Belmond Hotel outside Machu Picchu and I’ll be arriving by the...Hiram Bingham. And that’s what we did. This part of the trip was inclusive of everything including food and drink we therefore had the luxury of having afternoon tea on both days of our stay, Dinner the first night followed by breakfast and lunch on our final day. Everything was excellent, the service was top notch the food was exquisite and we even had a pisco sour masterclass included. This restaurant could not be faulted and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our stay.More

An extensive array of afternoon treats were perfect after a rainy sojourn on Macchu Picchu. Service was attentive yet unintrusive.

I think I would not go into the dining room just for the meal. We did stay there so it was included in our room rate. We had one person with us who was not staying and his lunch was $70 (USA). Its nice but there is no view... More
