When we finally found this place open it was worth the effort of trying it out. We had the House Plate with a bit of four of their main dishes. What seemed to be "not much" was actually ample, very filling and very satisfying. The Ceviche was beautiful and the fried fish pieces weren't oily. Their home made "tartare" was divine. I'm looking forward to dining here again before we leave Cusco next week.

We stopped for lunch and had the house specials. We rolled out an hour later filled to the gills with fresh tasty seafood. Try it , you'll like it!

Tears still come out of my eyes when I think about the wonderful lunch I had today at the El Tiburón. After days of looking for a nice, authentic place to eat here in Cusco for an honest price, I was ready to give up when I decided to ask a local woman for advice. Where do locals eat around here? She told me of Av. Infancia, a street in the neighboring district of Wanchaq, 8 minutes and only 5 Soles away from the main square with a taxi. There, she said, I would find loads of cevicherias. I chose El Tiburón, one of the biggest restaurants, for its eccentric/kitsch decor. Two mermaid fiberglass statues of questionable taste, but unquestionable sense of humor greet you on the way in. The service was impeccable. The waiter was so nice as he explained almost all menu items for me so I could make the best decision. We finally settled for the combo ceviche and fish chicharrón (65 Soles, serves 3) and 4 different side dishes (sweet potato fries or yuca fries are a must) a large beer and some water. Before the ceviche we were served a very tasty fish soup with coriander and love. As soon as the ceviche and chincharrón came we regretted ordering so many other things because it was HUGE. The food was so so delicious. And we all had so much to eat for a very decent price. My friends and I were very happy to have found such an amazing place on our last day here in Cusco. I can't recommend this place enough.

It's hard to do food reviews of restaurants in Peru as everywhere seems to have amazing fresh food. Including this restaurant that is out of the way, or one that you may stumble on by surprise. The atmosphere is great and comfortable, you feel like you are in someone's dining room, but the food is amazing so then you start to feel like you're on a nice cooking show :) Worth the walk if you're just wandering around taking in the sites and culture. Much more authentic than the food around the plaza. And definitely good value for your money, portions are huge.

El Tiburon is a hidden gem! My boyfriend and I tried it out on the recommendation of the hostel owner and we were not disappointed. It is a place that mainly serves locals so the prices are very reasonable compared to the more "touristy" restaurants. We got the ceviche was great and the fried fish was perfectly cooked! The service was very attentive and our waiter was great at explaining the different flavors in each dish. Overall wonderful experience and a place I would return to if I ever found myself back in Cusco

I returned to this place for a couple of months and I was surprised by the friendliness of the waiter and the seasoning of the cook. His rice with duck and his ceviche were very delicious for the price.

ugly. the chef has changed. We were not able to eat the ceviche and the stretcher had quantities of ajinomoto like I had never seen before.
