I’ve come here for a while. The tortillas are good and the people are nice. However more and chicharrón, one of the most emblematic dishes of Ecuador was terrible. Pure fat.

Two bad experiences: couple of weeks ago I han to wait one hour just for a soup. Today, after asking 3 times for attention, they wouldn’t serve just a corn, because according to them is not a morning plate. Don’t waste time visiting them

So many different tortillas and empanadas to try! The tortilla de maduro was great, as was another kind that was like a ball with cheese in the center. Average to large portion sizes for the dinner entree I ordered. The food was good, not the...best I’ve had in Ecuador but certainly not the worst. Overall, it’s worth a visit to try some empanadas, tortillas, for hearty soups or a chicken or lamb with rice dinner.More

Not a good eating experience. Food OK, not great. Pricey for what you get. VERY slow service: "we have an issue with our gas stove..." Credit cards not welcome. Not worth going back.

It is a very calmed place, furniture is ok and music selection is good as you are in a family place. Although it is a place for tasting ecuadorian food you won't have too much for choosing. Actually for main dishes you only have one...and then soups. We tried «caldo de gallina» (hen soup) that had good taste. I may also recomend «tortillas de maíz». My suggestion is that they should increase their variety for main dishes. I have to congratulate service people. They were very kind and help us a lot with selection.More

The different types of deliciously warm handmade tortillas is excellent. The servers were overstretched. Try the tortilla de yucca with aji. Or the emborrajado with banana and cheese wrapped in dough. All prices are very reasonable. The dried fruit and herbal tea is highly recommended....The ambience is very family friendly and warm.More

The prices of this cheap enought. The ambiance is rustic and relxed is a bit ancient but the way in which they welcome you is very good. The parking is wide, you must cross the street to be able to get it to the parking....I have been going with my family to eat there for 5 days. Their best selling "Pies of cheese", to go there tou must take jorge a. paéz N47-161 y salazar.More

The food is horrible. And they dont have beer. Not at all like the photos on the menu. I'm expecting real Ecuadorian cuisine and there is none.

After a series of disapointing (and sometimes expensive) meals in Quito, a local lady told us about La Tortilla, She said it's where local families go. And it's true! We went in a holliday"s eve and whole families kept coming during all late afternoon and...early evening, until it was full! Very good EMPANADAS, HORNADO DE CERDO, ARROZ DE LECHE and ice-creams. A little far from historic center (about a 5 dollar taxi run) but it worths. The staff is very nice and helpfull and try hard to explain about the meals, altough in spanish, few english speaking.More
