On our trip to Little India this place had been recommended so we went for breakfast. It is very popular as evidenced by a queuing system similar to those used in airports. Luckily it was not that busy while we were there. It was full of locals and we had what everyone else was, a spicy fish soup with noodles for $3 or £1.50. No photographs allowed there! Well worth the visit.

We arrived at 11.30 am to find a long queue of people waiting to place their orders. The kopitiam was called Gourmet Street, very crowded, took me a long time to get a seat. It was self- service, and each bowl was rather small, with a delicate whitish soup base, garnished with fish cake, lemon leaves and Sambal chilli. Best of all was their topping of delicious fresh par boiled cockles! By the time you have finished half the bowl of noodles and soup, you will certainly be hooked! The appreciation of this dish will certainly be enduring.

This is always my go to Laksa place for my Laksa craving. They cook the Laksa broth over charcoal, and I believe that is one of the key factors that make it taste so good. The noodles are cut so that you just need to use a spoon to eat. In the 90s they use sell for $1 per bowl and it was just a push cart. Unlike the katong Laksa this broth is not as thick and does not have the added dried shrimp. Good for those who like less thick Laksa broth.

This place came recommended and did not disappoint. We had our first laksa here and loved it. They come with everything included, so you need to specify if you don't want cockles (for example). The portion is just the right size for lunch on a hot day and the price is beyond reasonable. If you are visiting Singapore, come here.

The Laksa is delicious But the cooking duration is longer than expect. Need to Q for 35mins~45mins The chef scooped the hot laksa soup on the noodles and poured it away many times to cook a bowl of Laska. 1 time Experience will do.

This laksa place, as I was told, was awarded or recommended by the Michelin Bib Gourmand Selection. Anyway, Michelin or not, we decided to give it a try. Soup base was a bit lighter than I expected and the flavour wasn't too strong. Maybe it s a personal preference but I find this "on the healthier side". The sea hum was not very big, maybe its just not my day. What was interesting is that they used a charcoal flame to cook the laksa. Whether or not this makes any difference to the taste and flavour, I am not too sure. Nice to try if you happen to be in the proximity...

the Queue is way too long, if not it would have easily gotten a 3.5star! We all queued there like robots , without knowing exactly are there any choice of bigger option? as their standard bowls are small (although cheap) the coconut flavour definitely could be stronger, else it is smooth! (hence just by using a spoon is adequate to consume it) Will i visit there again or recommend my visitors (to Sg) to try this again? i am Sorry , NO! Luckily we didnt went on a Tues, it is closed every Tues!

Affordable & Good quality laksa! The cockles are fresh and price is at $3/bowl - tho it means the portion is small (so if you guys got 3 people going there for a meal , it’s best to just order 4 or 5 bowls esp if your appetites are big)

The Sungei Road Laksa stall has been around for some 50 years. In the 1960s the stall was a small food stall at Jalan Berseh and many trishaw riders come here for their meals. Today the stall is located in a coffee shop which sells laksa, rojak and kueh pai tee. By word of mouth many tourists come here for the so-called laksa which is said to be the best in Singapore. However over the years the price has increased from 50 cents to $3.00. Sad to say, the quantity and quality of the food has taken a nosedive. The quantity has shrunk and the bowl is now smaller. The quantity has decreased but the price has increased exponentially. You can get better laksa in Tiong Bahru and Old Airport Road hawker centre.

You know what you will get at this popular laksa haunt. Heavenly gravy in a tiny bowl of flavourful white noodle wth chilli sambal to die for. Expect to queue at peak hours. Worth it.

This stall is understated in every way. There will be a queue, though plenty of skill to watch in the making of your lunch. Its one dish, so only decision is whether to have spice or not! Traditional and delicious laksa.

If you are looking for a Laksa this is the one. Take MRT to Jalan Besar(DT22),exit A and turn right, walk straight down til Kelantan Lane, turn right and the 伙食街good court is infront. No frill,no choice, every bowl is $3 and no chopsticks!! The broth has this beautiful colour, smooth and silky, and the fragrant coconut aroma is appetizing. The ingredients of cockles, fish cake(so sweet and tasty), cruchy of bean sprout and some chop cirry leaves. Everything is in harmony. Yum! Will definetly ne back!!
