The Golden Cowrie had amazing native dishes. I chose the kinilaw (fresh, raw fish marinated in vinegar with tomatoes and onions) and Bicol express (fish cooked in coconut milk with a hint of ginger and spices). Washed it down with a cold, green mango shake.

I am a huge fan of Filipino food, and my golden cowrie experience is worst. we ordered sizzling gambas but it came out as a shrimp omelet. ordered crispy dinuguan but the pork was cut so small that it looks and taste like toasted ground pork in a fake dinuguan sauce. it doesnt even taste anything like dinuguan. shrimp sinigang taste was okey, but only 4 pieces medium size shrimp on it. the ambiance is good but the food is not worth the price. staff are not even attentive. too busy chit chatting. and of course, the manager, hes just sititng in one corner not concern about whats happening around him.

I used to like this place growing up. Haven’t eaten here in years and since I was back in town, I thought I’d order from here. Ordered for their pork sinigang and adobong kangkong via food panda and my goodness it was a disappointment. The pork sinigang that came had only two pieces of pork that was mostly fat, hardly any meat and soup - that was it. For the amount I paid for it at full price, it was not worth it at all! I would’ve probably been better off getting food from a carenderia stand, it would’ve been way cheaper! It wasn’t even wow, how could it be when all I could have from the meal was just soup.

A very good option to eat authentic Filipino food if you are around the Mactan airport area. Good product, good service and good portions. The lechon is tremendous! You can pay with credit card

This location is just a walking distance from the hotel. We decided to have dinner here and was very disappointed. We ordered gintaang mongo, escabecheng taguige, pinakbet and ice cream. The mongo was sweet and I just can't stand it. Instead of calling it escabecheng tanguige they should call it sweet and sour tanguige. The pinakbet was also very sweet. I wonder if the cook that night had some sweet cravings because everything was sweet. We couldn't even finish eating because it was just awful. My experience in this location was not great at all and it is below average. I felt I just wasted my money on this location! Would never come back on this location ever again. I should have went to Harold's Buffet for the price I paid there.

On Sunday 27th I was on a date and decided to come to the Golden Cowrie. Very bad choice. We ordered 3 dishes: tuna belly, cooked vegetables and a salad.Tuna belly was overcooked and dry as hell. The vegetables had non seasoning and taste really blunt. But what was really shocking, it was a long black hair that we had in our salad. We questioned the manager why the staff is not using hairnet in the kitchen and she said she would investigate. The best the manager could do, it was to cancel the order from our bill, no sincere apologies whatsoever. What happened is really not acceptable, no respect of the hygienic and sanitation rules and no respect for customers. They really need to improve and raise their standards. Service was very slow too.

We been here a couple times before and this time the experience was horrible! This is not the Golden Cowrie we used to know. I think they have a different management now. It took them like forever before our orders were served. The food quality is below average. It was really disappointing. Never again will we go back to this restaurant.

The food and service is good. We ate there for lunch and dinner and tried different items on the menu and the food did not disappoint. The shift managers were also very courteous.

We had a family dinner here and was really disappointed on the food and the serving. The squid is not sizzling anymore and has a very small serving around 4 inches and overcooked, the baked scallops are overcooked, the crispy pata was also overcooked, liked you are eating a rubber, everything a very expensive price. Will not recommend this place if you are having a family dinner.

Place: newly renovated, cleaner and roomier. Front side ventilation wasn't working well and smelled stuffy. Prepare to smell like the kitchen if you stay there. Bigger room was better and was airy but hope you won't have a huge group tour coming to join you because it'll be very noisy like what happened. Service: attentive but missed one order detail which caused a delay because the food had to be returned and a new one prepared. Nevertheless, the staff is helpful. Food: crispy pata despite being an extra large one was more like a regular one with minimal meat in it. More like extra large bone. Taste wasn't better either and old oil was noticeable. They also used to have very good baked scallops but this wasn't one. Nobody in the group liked the food and we were left with the feeling we should have paid only half of what we did. Too bad because we went there because food used to be very good but we're not coming back for sure.

We ate at their sm city cebu branch and tried their exquisite lechon belly dish w/c turned out to be a real delight. Their offerings are on point and affordable. Try their puso salad because it was a pleasant surprise. One thing though is they sure can spruce up their comfort room and washing area.

Visited here for lunch, it was convenient to an appointment we had. Initial impression is not good, the place has a fast food look to it. The staff were not overly keen to offer much attention, showed us a table, left the menu and moved off. We selected a few dishes, some were ok, one was a train wreck. The ok ones were just that, ok nothing great. The train wreck was the ribs. In all my eating all over the world I have NEVER had such an appalling dish offered. We actually couldn't find the ribs. The serve looked cooked road kill, it was a mangled lump of bones and meat. My partner is a trained chef, and even she couldn't work out how to cut this lump of stuff. I read reviews about this place being one of the best in Cebu, its not, not by a long way. There are far far better restaurants in Cebu. We wont be back to this one.
