If you want a true Filipino dining experience come to Subo . Chef Jian presents a wide array of elevated dishes from Luzon,Visayas and Mindanao region. The photos from their menu did justice and the flavour of each dish was unexpectedly surprising and delicious. Everything we ordered didn't disappont us . 3 of us in a family of 4 never had Dinuguan (Pork Blood Stew). He prepared this dish for people like us who are hesitant to try this dish by blending some aromatics and topping it with crispy belly and other pork insides. Thus, Crispy Dinuguan and we can't get over the Dinuguan sauce that even my son who is the pickiest of all loved it. I am glad we had this as our additional order. The Spicy Squid Palabok is a must try as well, not so spicy but it was a very unique take on palabok.
The desserts were just amazing. That turon was crispy and creamy on the inside. The Ube-Choco Lava cake made the whole dining experience complete that you'd love to order a second round
( not for sharing ).
Ambiance... this place is inviting! It's just a few meters away from the noisy and busy beachside restos and bars. You will dine inside a typical Filipino house with antique furnitures and displays. Best of it all, you'll be served with their hospitable staff dressed in Filipino costumes and will also entertain you in 2 sets of Filipino native dance.
Pricing.. you'll be suprised their meny price is very reasonable vs the mediocre Filipino restaurants in Boracay, considering their dishes are elevated Filipino dishes by Chef Jian.
The owners have truly thought of everything a guest would like to feel ...at home❤

This is probably the best place you can find in Boracay. In addition to the excellent Filipino food from different areas of the nation, you can perceive the Filipino culture in every corner of the restaurant, including the waiters. Very large portions (we didn't finish some dishes even though we are always very greedy) and prices slightly above average, but it's absolutely worth it!

This retaurant is located close to our accomodation at Station 3 and we dined here several times as we enjoyed it so much.
Serving sizes are large and in the evenings they put on a cultural show. Prices are very reasonable and reduced from prior years when we dined here previously. The menu out front has the prior prices which were considerably more.
We recommended this restaurant to fellow guests at the hotel and they also loved it.
Location is on a laneway in a historic house transported from the province with polished floors. One must take shoes off to enter.
Its one of the best places to eat on Boracay.

Tonight my date and I just happened upon Subo Boracay after an evening out on the water. The restaurant promises a piece of Visaya, an experience on which it delivers, and then some!
Together we enjoyed a dinner bursting with a great assortment of excellent tasting dishes along with live entertainment consisting of delightful songs and folk dances while be waited on by very friendly and accommodating staff.
Of all the restaurants we've enjoyed in Boracay, Subo stands out for an authentic experience full of undeniable culture.
The Happy Hour drinks until 11pm was also very nice!!

Authentic dining experience in a nostalgic classic-themed Filo house. We enjoyed the variety of traditional and hearty Filo food from different regions in one night - how amazing. The restaurant served us a complimentary welcome drink which was pretty good as well. Their bill is presented inside of a traditional iron which was a nice detail. X

Love the ambiance. The music or the singer is very good choice of song is superb, the volume is a little loud, if it could be 2 knot lower that would be lovely. But stll you can still hear each other.
The servant Kim : was really nice and attentive she explained the dished very well and informative
Food was very tasty and delicious serving was abundant.

We waited almost 45 minutes for a different waiter just to tell us that one of the dishes we ordered was out. In those 45 minutes, we didn’t even get the water we ordered. I’m speechless by how horrible the service was. The waiter told us that it was not his fault—I understand that, but the kitchen didn’t bother to tell you that they ran out of a dish. It’s the fault of the restaurant itself. No communication between team members. We were so excited to eat here and left with empty stomachs.

This Resto is great if you want to try eating authentic filipino cuisine amidst an old school wooden home with wooden floors. It's like our ancestral home in the province, and in typical filipino fashion, you enter the resto/home removing your slippers at the entrance and going barefoot.
The food is great, tastes great, and has the flavors of old but served in a new way. It has a fiesta atmosphere, and for a summer night in biracay, it felt like November weather. Cool and very inviting for a siesta.
Subo in Boracay will leave you feeling satisfied with a touch of nostalgic feels.
Heck, the bill is given to you in an old school type charcoal powered flat iron. True to theme indeed!
We will definitely come back. It is a trip down memory lane when everything is slow, relaxed and stress free.
Don't take my word for it, try it! Crispy dinuguan and Karen kare is what we ordered. Both has old school flavors and an order serves 3- 4 adults.
Will definitely recommend!

Best mango shake ever! Aesthetic pleasing plating on their food and the best part is the taste is SO ON POINT! We ordered Puchero and it had a modern taste to it, the sinigang was the right sourness and the adobo was very modern and tasty! All the servers were wearing traditional outfit, KD and Kim assisted us and made sure we had an amazing time for my grandmas bday! We had a big group yet everything was served on a timely manner and they even gave us complimentary dalandan juice

Great food and ambience! Liempo was really soft and I loved it! Their Filipino food has unique combinations which I love because I was able to eat both seafood and meat at the same time without the taste fighting with each other. Since we came late in the afternoon, we were really hungry too so we didn’t expect it to take too long for about 30 mins. But if you aren’t in a rush, this is a great place to be! Special thanks to Joy who personally helped us with our lunch!

Pros: cool, unusual interior, you can take beautiful photos for Instagram, live music.
Cons: food. Considering that the price tag in the restaurant is above average, you expect more. They don’t serve water here (which they do even in the simplest cafes), you can only buy a bottle. We ordered bar rice with seafood: the shrimp were not peeled, and the squid was tasteless.
I liked the appetizer of shells and mussels.
Cocktails are ok.

The restaurant had an old heritage vibe. Starting from entrance, till seated at our table, everything was astonishing. Our server Aizel was very accomodating and made sure all our requests were delivered without delay. The food was superb, We ordered bulalo, which was by the way most tender beef we've had since we came to boracay, Inihaw na isda, ginataang gulay and stuffed grill squid and tomahawk grill liempo tht also had a twist of talangka sauce, which was a first for our family. They even had a live dance performance around 8pm that demonstrated two of our cultured dance, which really caught the attention of our son. All in all, our rating would be 10/5, but 5 being the highest is all I can give. Hoping to come back again to Subo next time to try put more of their dishes!!

This is a really nice restaurant in terms of food, ambiance, service and entertainment. I think its a bit on the pricey side for Filipino dish but the serving size is big so they can be shared. They offer live entertainment thru music and dancing. And the place is aesthetically pleasing.

This place makes you feel at home. From the entrance, you have to take off your slippers at the front door. Maasikaso ang mga staff, thanks to Ms. Olga, she recommends food based on what we are craving and explains the ingredients and how the food were cooked.

The place is beautiful. Nostalgic. Reminiscing childhood days. The staff were attentive and very friendly But, DO NOT EAT there. The food presentation was appetizing but the taste was… as soon as you SUBO… you LUWA! We ordered seafood rice… we told the server is not cooked. He just laughed at us. The rice was white and hard not clear as cooked. We had mussels too….mostly shells.
Their ceviche sauce was thick and so sweet instead of creamy and a little sour. The drinks nostalgic too… it tasted like TEMPRA.
We spent almost 5k.
Never again.
It’s very frustrating and sad.
They claimed to representing Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Embarrassment.
