This is a very lovely cafe with restaurant standard menu and food, very nice. Great attentive, friendly staff promptly take your order and are always on hand to fill up your water glass and ask how your food and drinks are. Tuna steak, rockafella pasta, chicken teriyaki, iced coffee, speciality coffee and fresh orange juice (made to order) were all very nice in our opinions 😊

This place was a great find. The service was amazing, the two waiters were accommodating with food preferences and allergies. The coffee was the best I’ve had since arriving (plus came out with cute art) and my pancakes were great. All in all a god barely option.

Would definitely recommend, stopped by by accident looking for somewhere to eat lunch. All staff super friendly and attentive, great chilled music/vibes. Food great as well! I had a beef burger (craving home food after being away for a month), homemade pattie and delicious bun. Definitely worth stopping by if in the area 🙌🏼💯

I have already been waiting 5 minutes, and nobody has taken my order yet. When I approached the counter to finally place my order, the gay waiter (i have LGBT friends) literally told me "i'm busy", and he was just behind the counter doing something that can wait. Are you serious?! Too busy to accommodate a customer?! When the food arrived, I had to get up multiple times just to have my glass of water refilled. But the gay waiter was very attentive to other foreign customers. The food is ok but it's not going to win any award.

Thank you for your review. I really appreciate your feedback and am so sorry to hear about your disappointed experience. That was truly not our attention.
After looking to the situation and to directly manage your points:
* "Waiting 5 minutes to take your order" -We welcome comments from guests, but we would appreciate it if these are given in the spirits of fairness and better yet, you could have voiced your complaint to the staff who in turn could have thus been appropriately addressed at the time of your visit.
*"Literally told me 'im busy.'" -When you said, "he was just behind the counter doing something that can wait." to make your review clearly, I will just write in what was the scenario when you arrived. We have 3 tables occupied outdoor and 4 indoors which at least 15pax that is also ordering coffee. and how can a barista leave their coffee half way of making it?
Its very sad that people come to a cafe and think they know the thoughts of the hard working staff at our restaurant. Our staff are very proud and dedicated to our cafe, they provide very good service and great tasting coffee and food as expressed by hundreds of our customers. On other hand, we did our part and we would like to thank you for your time writing us a review.

Asked for a recommendation and 'eventually' got the hangover toast. This was completely fine, well cooked and tasty. Ordered orange juice , they had run out. Got apple juice. A dark brown concoction arrived we drank it, it was fine. My girlfriend ordered a spam bowl - don't ask, she's Filipina and had a dodgy tummy.
My girlfriend got her food and even though she ordered well after me as I thought I was getting the recommendation my food never came. Had to reorder! My girlfriend had nearly finished her food before I got mine.
The poor girl doing the service was either half sleep or just not interested, it wasn't even busy.

I ate here everyday, we ordered room service coffee in the hotel next door, my partner ate all the inspired local dishes rice bowls were fabulous for the value of money and comfort to eat. I took the pancakes such a big portion and pastas for dinners! Also greeted everyday with a smile nothing was to much of a trouble and support local upstart businesses is great too. Highly recommend to travellers too.

Amazing quality with a great selection of coffee, teas, juices and food options!! Decently priced, with a very welcome and friendly service, great WiFi, didn’t feel rushed but did feel very relaxed! Must go if you’re wanting some good quality coffee and amazing service, thank you!

We've been in the Philippines a little over a week and my teen daughter was craving American food. This place was perfect. Good coffee drinks. I had eggs and bacon (streaky bacon/not smoked) and she had French toast. Her toast was really, really good. My wife had bangus, which was breaded and lighter than usual.

I was surprised to see the place empty on a Saturday evening as it was so good! More people should be coming here. It was unlimited frozen margaritas for only 350! Mango was my fav. The chicken parmigiano was cooked to perfection by the new chef (I think his name is james). It was delicious, especially the mash potato! All the staff were really friendly and welcoming, playing the best music too for a lovely atmosphere. I had to try one of the cakes to take away, too, and that was so yummy. Thanks for having me, I will be back.

A really good cafe/restaurant. We went three times. For breakfast we had an amazing oat meal bowl, just perfektly balanced with sweetness by honey. The coffee was really good to and it even comes from the philippines. Then we had pasta with vegetables once, which was a good mix between italian pasta and asian food. There are generally a couple of vegetarian otions. And then we had the cordon bleu, which also very good. All in all one of the best restaurants we have eaten in the philipines.

This was my 1st time in their new location. They are now across Roxas St from Holy Trinity University. The food was good, the beer was warm, but they had plenty of ice. Service is slower than most places, especially if they are creating an artistic cup of coffee. I had Crab Rolls for an appetizer & liked them! The Baby-back ribs were also quite good. The staff were extremely nice.

This is a perfect place for breakfast lunch and dinner! We went here two times since we liked it so much. Really good oatmeal bowl! We also had dinner here, nasi goreng, dessert freash baked brownies (extreamly good) and oreo cheesecake milkshake. All was 10/10! Really recommend this place, good service and amazing staff, loved it!

Dont take the Roastbeef its very very dry. The sauce was more garlic, instead of mushroom. Well, there wasn't mushroom at all. The plate looked like it was prepared a day or two before and just heaten up in the microwave.
The breakfast menu wasn't big, just few sweet overloaded sweets. Who wants frenchtoast with nutella banana maple syrup AND ice cream? Hello diabetes.
But the staff was friendly and the coffee good.

Hi Lenibaneni, Thank you for visiting Eightynine Cafe and the time for writing us a review. I would like sincerely apologize for the negative experience you had at the cafe and pledge we will ensure that this kind of incident will not happen again.
And for our menu aside from french toast that you said a "diabetes" we have 6 breakfast (sweet & savory) 6 rice bowl, 6 pasta, 6 main course to choose. Nobody force you to order the french toast and while we welcome feedback, we also want it to have a spirit of fairness. Better yet, you could have voiced your complaint to the staff who turn could have voiced your complain to the staff who in turn could have relayed it to our kitchen, and your issues would thus been appropriately addressed at the time of your visit.

Legitimately the best coffee shop/restaurant around the city. All the way from Singapore, My friends and I visited and were amazed not only the quality of food but also the service. The place is beautiful, staff are super friendly and the food is exceptional especially the baby back ribs 😍. We will definitely going back. Highly recommended.

Exceptional! Fervent lovers of brunches from all four corners of the world, this one ranks in our top 3. A more than tasty “Pesto grilled cheese” sandwich, with an incredible texture and taste accompanied by a sauce to die for ! The French toast really delicious! Photo proof! Go here!
