It was quite hard to find a good restaurant in Puerto Princesa on New Year's Eve of 2018. Luckily Ugong Rock Grill & Seafood Bar was open till midnight. The place was full mostly of foreign clientele. My friend and I seemed to be the...only locals in the restaurant that night. The ambiance was beautiful, with subdued lights creating a romantic atmosphere. It was an open-air dining area, no air-conditioned rooms. Just right outside the dining area was a parking lot. I immediately went over the menu and found and ordered some of my local favorite dishes ... chicharong bulaklak (deep fried chicken intestines), chili garlic shrimps, and sisig (boiled pork snouts, ears and jowls served on a sizzling plate). I would have wanted a grilled liempo (pork belly) and binusog na pusit (stuffed squid), but they were out of stock. We also tried their Ugong specialty rice (which was just like an ordinary chao-fan). All in all the food was good, although it was a bit pricey. This restaurant is one place you should try if you want some local dishes in town. Highly recommended!More

We picked this place for dinner due to the live music going on initially. There were a lot of options with regards to food. But the problem was they took forever to serve us and when they did, they brought all the dishes together. Food...was good. Pricing was on par with every other place. If you are not in a hurry, recommend this place.More

Place is coZy and nice.. friendly staff good food. Price averaging 1000+ good for 2. Tried their crocodile sisig and nice touch with spicy garlic shrimps.

Nice place to put up your feet and relax whilst listening to the live band. Pork sisig was extra good with added chili. Worth a visit when you are in Puerto Princesa

This is just beside our hotel. Very convenient so we went here. Not much for variety of beers compared to kinabuch. If you order plenty of food, this will be served in one time, so better inform them to serve the food you want, so...soup to be served will still be hot Staff are not attentive to customers, having a hard time getting the menu, and then ordering, and then follow up Food is just average according to taste I guess If you dont like plenty of people and just want to eat dinner, you can go here. Also when we went there, most of the food we ordered are unavailable even if its on the menuMore

Came for dinner here. Loved the tinolang native chicken. The ginataang vegetable- okra, saluyot alugbati was also good. Lato was fresh. Grilled fish was delicious. This is a better restaurant than the one beside it.

After our croco farm and butterfly garden visit we wanted to have lunch before heading to the airport and asked our van driver to bring us to the best local resto in town. Indeed the food is the best as it is affordable and awesome.....staffs were accomodating tooMore

I was keen on trying out the famed "tamilok" (wood worm) so asked the staff at the hotel if they could recommend a store. Even though I arrived right after they opened, the store they recommended did not have stock - an all too common...occurrence in the Philippines. So arrived at this store. Service was fast and friendly. Checkout was fast. It looked like a laid-back place where family, friends could gather for a hearty, no-frills dinner.More

The seafoods are good But not really fresh the service and staff are ok we would like to came back soon

The Good: - Food was average. The Bad: Lots of mosquitoes. If you ask me, you can do better. There are lots of places to choose from in this area.
