Went there for lunch on a super warm Saturday. We order fried pork slice ansd stewed beef and come with rice noodle. The beef texture is just right not too chewy and taste complex with subtle chinese herb. The fried pork slices were fresh and...tasty. The house tea is mild and not too strong. The meal finished with house made cold pudding. We chat with the owner and understand that gem has been in business for 15 years. The simple chinese style decorations are nice to look at too. We shall certainly go back to support this heartily run small join. The restaurant location is hide away on the sloppy Elgin street to the west end and you have to walk down a few steps when you thought you are at the end of the street. It certainly worth the effort to find it out.More
Great value restaurant which was very clean with friendly service. We had the wonton noodles soup which was fresh and tasty.
Perfect Chinese food, home made but imaginative. You can follow their recommandations without hesitation. The place is super simple. No fancy decoration. It is all about food. Very friendly service
good food, good service, cozy warm and clean atmosphere, quiet, great teas available in the menu, the couple who runs the restaurant is really passionate about their job. Everything I had was delicious in the 3 times I went in the last few years! When...I visited for the 1st time, I had a delicious Papaya Soup and I wanted to go back there even if it was just for that. It's delicious!! it's not sweet and if you don't know it's papaya probably you wouldn't notice. Unfortunately, Papaya Soup wasn't available in this last visit but another delicious Spinach Soup was served instead. Wonton, noodles, wide variety menu. Delicate sweets go very well with the excellent teas after your meal or just on a tea break.More
Our favourite place in Hong Kong by far. Go there for lunch when it's hot if you can, it's virtually empty unlike dinner and cooler months. Nelson, the owner, is a charming, humble man who delights in the detail. The food is delicious - try...the scrambled egg, potato and onion - and the tea selection, presentation and taste is as good as you'd expect for the price, but it's the atmosphere that's the best. Tranquility in the pounding heart of Hong Kong central district, no plastic flavours (no MSG) and genuine courtesy and humour from your host. Highlight of our trip so farMore
Went for lunch and the dumplings in Shanghai chilly oil were outstanding . We also had duck breast and tofu ( a bit dull) The tea was super... the decor simple and comfortable!
Honest, home-style cooking -- like your grandma or great-aunt would make for a small family gathering. Healthy dishes with incredible flavor. Quiet restaurant with simple decor. Great for everyday meals.
When in Soho and ready for a great bite of authentic Chinese - pop over. Fresh and made with love were their chili wontons - good portion too and arrived piping hot! Another great dish was the noodles with sathay sauce - totally unique -...must try!More
Where to start - Amazing - wonderful - quaint - spotless and on and on - we cannot say enough good things. We were taken here for dinner by family of friends from home. This is one of their favourite places to eat. They open...at 18:00 and by the time we left at 21:00 it was almost full. Father and son - Nelson - work the restaurant while mother cooks. Food was delicious. I don't know the proper names but we had a fried rice with egg white and corn. A tofu dish with tofu that was more like a custard - wow Spinach dumplings with cabbage - excellent And they didn't have the black cod which is suppose to be very good so instead we had chicken wings - which I wondered about when it was ordered but they were like no other chicken wings I've ever tasted. It is too bad we leave today as we would definitely return and will on our next visit to Hong Kong.More
