Visited Gangnam Myeonok due to the good reviews received and was not dissappointed. We visited after lunch time thus there were no wait thus service was efficient and quick. We ordered the small beef ribs, a yukhoe naengmyeon, regular naengmyeon and the mandu. We wanted to order the regular mandu but was recommended by the waitress that we should order small instead and we were very thankful for the recommendation once the food were served as we could hardly finish our meal. The ribs were cooked well with delicious smoky sauce with a hint of spiciness and the mandu were tender and juicy. The only slight negative were the yukhoe naengmyeon where the yukhoe served didn't taste or resemble raw beef but something more processed thus I would recommend ordering just the regular naengmyeon which was fresh and delicious. Would not hesistate to recommend and revisit.

Visited this restaurant in Gangnam upon reading some positive reviews. Ordered their beef rib stew aka galbi-jjim and also the mega size dumpling. The galbi-jjim definitely a must. It's so tender and flavorful. The small size portion is good for 2 adults and 2 kids. Yes it's not spicy so kids can indulge as well. Service was good and the servers had no problem taking my order in English. Paid 56000 for the galbi-jjim, dumpling soup and a beer. Highly recommended This place is also called Gangnam Noodle Restaurant if you're searching for it in Naver Map.

The restaurant we ate at was located at 36-1 Insa-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, South Korea, but it has the same menu and name as the above restaurant. Review: While their signature dish is a bit pricey, there are other food options for more budget conscious diners. Our meal was filling and tasted good. There was free water. The staff speak some English and Chinese (but we did not have the opportunity to better gauge their  proficiency). The staff were friendly overall,  although one waitress was fairly grumpy when serving our food. The restaurant has a fairly clean toilet with soap provided.

After hearing so much about this place the ribs were on the disappointing side. Still a little tough and without much seasoning this Galbijjim just failed to deliver the succulence and the deep, smokey flavors it is supposed to. To be fair, this place puts out hundreds of dishes a day so I understand that there may be some batches better than others. Nonetheless orders are quite big. The small order of ribs could easily feed 3, so great value. Aside from that we ordered the cold noodles wiht sahimi and the spicy cold noodles with beef, which were on the average side. But again, large portions. Next time I crave Galbijjim I will probably look for a smaller, more traditional place where Im sure there is more care and love in the process.

The ribs at this restaurant were amazing. It's a little hard to find but it is well worth the trek. There was no English menu but the waitress who served us knew a little of English and we managed to order galbi jjim and she asked if we wanted large to which we agreed to. If you're not sure how to eat it, i'd recommend cutting the rib up and dipping it in the sauce that is in the bottom of the bowl it comes in. I only realised this towards the end. When you're done with the ribs, ask them to add rice to the left over sauce and they'll take it away and put rice in the bowl then heat up the bowl so the rice soaks up all the sauce and gets a bit crispy. Show them my photo and they'll understand, I showed them a photo from someone's blog to get it. Great way to finish off the meal.

It so happened that we were in Seoul during the mid-autumn festival national holiday and everything was closed. But we wanted to try our luck and imagine our ecstasy when we realised on the day of mid-autumn festival Gangnam Myeonok was opened and serving their famous galbi. It was fortunate we went just before lunch since queues were starting to form. We were hungry so ordered the medium and a colossal pot arrived (tip: for 2 even a small is enough). They were juicy, tender and the staff showed us to cut of the meat with the provided scissors which slid effortlessly off the bone. At first we wanted rice but afterwards we couldn't fit another bite. No English here but staff can speak Chinese. All menus are in Korean. Medium Galbi (beef short ribs stewed in beef soy sauce) was 49,000 won. Upstairs area you have to remove your shoes and sit on the floor with low tables. Get in early. Simply delicious.

This restaurant specializes, and excels, in Galbi Jjim - stewed beef ribs. They are delicious. They offer three sizes, which arrive on the bone, with scissors to cut the meat off. Be sure to use the black sauce (sweet, spicy, chunky, with scallions and sesame) with the meat. Good banchan here also. Got the noodles, which were nothing special. Didn't try the mandu (dumplings). While we didn't pull it off, if you're hungry, there seems to be a way to get rice added to your pot with meat you didn't finish, and potentially add kimchi, then have it heated again to make a fried rice with some crunchy rice at the edges of the pot (kind of like dolsot bibimbap). I'll definitely try that if I go back.

Just to die for beef. So tender the rib bones can just be lifted out of the meat. We had a large pot for four people but we are pigs and I am sure the medium size would have been enough for most groups of four. All the usual KImchi accompaniments and the soup which comes with it. There is NO English, very friendly and I have no doubt that if you can get yourself there then it can be successfully done. Valet parking $1. Meal for four was $60 which is more than you might expect but it was special food for a New Year feast day. Spotlessly clean restaurant with fast service.. dont miss it. I think many others were having the North Korean dish naeng-myun.... really good meal.

Let's face it, this restaurant is tough to find even for a techie tourist who has Maps guiding the way. But if someone says that a particular restaurant's star dish is so good, you just hope the food better be that good and worth the trip. Thankfully, we stumbled upon a good samaritan who helped us with finding this restaurant. It was a 4-5 block walk from Apgujeong station. It's my first time to be in Seoul and I know that Galbi-jjim (slow cooked braised beef short ribs) is a very special dish in Korea. I had tried it elsewhere and I even know how to make it, but I just had to try it as it is made by a Korean in Korea. And I definitely had to try it in a restaurant recommended by the locals. When asked what size of the dish we preferred, small, medium or large, I said "LARGE". I was just too hungry after having to walk around for 30 minutes just to find the restaurant. When the dish arrived with a pair of tongs and scissors, I just stared at the large pot of beef ribs and wondered how the 3 of us will ever finish it beofre the shop closes. It was as if we ordered a whole cow. Everyone was silent through the meal. All I could hear is the sound of 3 really hungry people enjoying succulent Korean beef short ribs. And yes, we did finish it eventually. I even found myself dipping the bones into the sauce to consume every bit of flavor left from the pot. That good! Hopefully, in my future visits, they'll open a shop somewhere more accessible - in Myeong-dong perhaps. I recommend this to all you carnivores out there.

I always take visitors to this restaurant and everyone LOVES it. Everything on the menu is good but they are known for the galbi-jjim and naeng-myun.

Apgujeong / Cheongdam
Aside from Sinsa / Garosugil, no other area in Seoul connotes the words “luxury” and “fancy” like Apgujeong and Cheongdam. Global luxury brands have set up their flagship stores here, catering to the neighborhood's mostly affluent residents. It’s also one of the top areas in Korea (some say the world) for cosmetic surgery, attracting hundreds of thousands each year for a little nip or tuck. The other parts of Apgujeong and Cheongdam are mostly lavish residential buildings for some of Seoul’s most affluent alongside extravagant restaurants, bars, spas, and other spots for indulgence. And Cheongdam has long been a bastion for flashy clubs and parties, though in recent years, Itaewon has emerged as a strong challenger to those claims.
