Favorite in Downtown Koror

Solid Japanese food located in central downtown Koror on the second floor over a store shop. We tried many of the other restaurants within walking distance of downtown Koror and this was our favorite. Stir fried rice with scrambled eggs and chicken was excellent; well priced and very filling. Teriyaki chicken also very good. They use real chicken (not previously frozen/processed). Dine early if you want outdoor seating (only 2-4 tables). Inside is bar and more dining tables.

Intimate, quiet space with excellent sushi

Tori Tori is a small restaurant on the second floor. Seating is along the counter with one table in the rear. It is better for a group of 2 or 3 in a party and for solo diners, unless you reserve the one table. The ambiance is pleasant and quiet. The sushi is first rate. We shared a sushi platter and I liked everything on it. All the fish was very tender. They have a number of specials. The tempura shrimp was nice and crisp with a pleasant dipping sauce. I particularly enjoyed the sizzling tofu. Seafood salad was also excellent. I appreciate the small carafe of saki. If you can sit close to the entrance, you’ll get a good view of sushi chefs.

On Friday, we arrived in Palau around 8pm via Guam Checked in to the Palau Hotel and had a late dinner A familiar restaurant nearby Tori Tori It was open despite the coronavirus A popular restaurant with many locals Maybe due to the coronavirus, they also offer takeout The menu is similar to that in Japan Cheers with Red Rooster draft beer! For snacks, we had kimchi tofu The fried chicken and skewers were delicious The seafood salad was also voluminous and delicious Palau's specialty, land crab meat simmered in coconut milk "ukaebu" It was my first time, but it was delicious Finally, we removed the fat with oolong tea (made by Pokka) It was just as good as the restaurants in Japan However, due to the weak yen, it was more expensive than I expected!

Good food and convenient location but terrible service

The food was good and it's located in town centre with decent decoration. It's mainly counter seating except a few small tables in the balcony outside. We had dinner for a week in different restaurants in Palau and their service was the worst. There was not a single smile in any of the staff. I feel like asking for flavours from the waitresses rather than being a customer the whole time.

Do yourself a favor and avoid this place! The food is hit or miss, and lately mostly misses. Last night I went for dinner. I was served my veggies and dessert, but my main entree failed to come. After 45 minutes I asked again and was told 2 minutes. Meanwhile, I ate 1/2 of my veggies and set a timer when I was told 2 minutes and after 12 minutes, I gave up. One hour and $40 later I left, without an apology or an offer of a different entree. At 9 pm I found myself at home cooking dinner. The next day I got a call from the manager that just made the situation worse. They care about the bottom line $$$ and screw the customers. They rely on tourists, so they don't have to treat people fairly as they don't expect them to come back. There are better places to eat in Palau.

Fresh local fish!

Beautifully presented dishes and fresh local seafood and other produce! Staff are lovely. Found the occasional bone in the sashimi (just be careful). Very kind staff. Would recommend going there for a good fresh meal.

Good Japanese worth visiting

I had the assorted sashimi and some edamame beans. The fish was a small serve of salmon and a range of other local fish. All was very fresh and good quality and nicely presented. Service is okay, a bit of hand, they forgot my miso soup, but not a big deal.

Great counter top eating

Very nice Japanese restaurant, very traditional dishes and a vast menu . We ordered our food then watched as other received their food and wish we also ordered those dishes . If you like traditional Japanese food this place is for you .

Nice experience

We walked in and were the only 4 in the place. Sat down and were immediately unsure of what to expect. Ordered what we all wanted and left here with plates completely empty and happy. We enjoyed coming here and eating the food. I would recommend coming here if you like Japanese food and noodles. When we return to palau we will also return here.

QUAINT DOWNTOWN JAPANESE FOOD

Good food with counter seating. You can order many little things to try and most are very tasty. I liked the salt and soy ribs (not really Japanese) and the crab with miso taste. My friend ordered the sushi platter and it was nicely presented but not much variety. Reasonable prices on the food and sake.
