it took them 2 minutes to make heat gyozas

the gyozas were hard like old reheated in microwave also put an spicy sauce and did not tell me what it was i asked for pressed juice fresh and they dont offer that the gyoza in a supermarket in usa or europa are fresher also never saw that something was ready to fast like a microwave heat the philipinos are friendly including cholito i was the only customer so no excuse

Food good, more American than Japanese

We stayed in the adjoining hotel and ate there several times. The restaurant food was good and the options large, but most meals were overly salted. Service could be better. All 3 times we ate there, we were completely ignored once we got our food. Each time we had to hunt down the server to get water, dessert and our check. They have a good American selection and I wouldn't consider it a Japanese restaurant.

Outstanding Food-Friendliest Staff Ever!!

We came to the Cove Resort for our honeymoon. We have traveled extensively and appreciate really good food which is often hard to find especially in a country you have never been to. We would normally visit several places for dinner, however, after having our first breakfast at their excellent buffet, we decided to try their dinner (we didn't need lunch after their breakfast). The filet mignon was an excellent cut of meat and came just the way my husband ordered it -medium rare. Their baby back ribs were truly fall off the bone tender and delicious. I loved their fish tacos and their salads were fresh and crisp. We stayed 7 days and each time we thought about eating somewhere else, we would check the chef specials for the day and eat at the Cove. Why go anywhere else, when you already have the best!! The staff were kind, friendly and spoiled us. We are back in New Zealand for a few days and we wish we were back at the Cove.

It was just OK

I ate here twice, once for the breakfast buffet, and I had a lunch here as well. In all fairness, I ate the breakfast buffet about 40 minutes before the buffet closed, and I didn't see many people there. Maybe because of those reasons they didn't have fresh food out. But the food on the breakfast buffet was cool, and the French toast was stale. However, the price was right. The breakfast buffet was included with a stay at the Cove Resort. For lunch, I had a chicken sandwich with French fries and a diet Coke. I spent around $20 US. The chicken sandwich wasn't great. But on the plus side, the portions were huge, the French fries were great, and the service was good. I was pleasantly surprised that for an outdoor bar and grill, there were no bugs or birds, and the temperature was very comfortable. I give them very good marks for how clean they kept the restaurant. It was very clean.

Loud and busy located at the Cove hotel

This is not a quiet place and it seems to be busy often. The bar food is okay, but not great, and the drinks are small needing help from someone who knows how to properly make them. Service is poor and likely due to the many people there. If one is with a large group then this may be the place to hang-out. The Marlin Bar appears more inclined as a sports bar, instead of a coat quite bar and restaurant. Easy to find off of main street and plenty of parking.

Food selection was wonderful. Portions were large; when in doubt split the meal. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Best restaurant in Palau!

You better off eating elsewhere

We stayed at The Cove for the whole week ate at Hungry Marlin for the first 2 nights giving it a shot. The portions were gigantic - which I guess is a good thing considering the price - but the quality wasn't there nor was the ambiance noteworthy; Multiple TVs screaming at each other and open-square layout makes it very noisy when it's half full. Better off eating at Drop-off, Kramer's and/or Elilai.

Great tempura and sashimi selection

Great staff and good food quality at reasonable prices make Hungry Marlin a good choice for every night. We especially enjoyed the tempura and tuna sashimi dishes which are really good and properly seasoned as they should be.

Breakfast buffet

I love that they start early! We were able to eat breakfast everyday before our dive pickup. There was a variety of food choices and made to order eggs. The coffee was fresh brewed and delicious. The menu had a decent selection. The mushroom soup is amazing. Very friendly staff, a great atmosphere, and a beautiful view. We really enjoyed all our meals here.

Great Staff, Amazing Food

I cannot talk up the food here enough. It was simply delicious! The servings were large enough that you weren't hungry without feeling stuffed afterwards. The prices were reasonable, and the drinks were refilled promptly.

Good food; decent price

The Hungry Marlin is located the Cove Resort. I was nervous at first to eat at at hotels restaurant because the prices are normally high and the food ok. I was pleasantly surprised that it was the opposite. The prices are fair and consistent to what I would normally pay back home. The food was very good. Everything my friends and I ordered were fresh and delicious. I want to give 5 stars but I have to give 4 only because there was inconsistency with some meals. For example, the fish tacos are amazing and when I ordered them a 2nd time, the sauce was extremely loose and made the meal tough to eat. I had so much extra liquid on my plate it looked like soup. The service was good. I never had to wait long for my food and we all ate together.

Excellent food

I ate at several restaurants in Palau and each one was meh at best. They all seem to bring the food out EXTREMELY slow and have terrible service. BUT NOT THE HUNGRY MARLIN! The service is attentive, the food is fresh and served quickly and the atmosphere is light and airy. Go there for good food and drinks.

Don’t waste your time and money

We were here for 5 days and only ate here because we arrived late and hadn’t eaten. Didn’t return after the first visit, nor will we recommend this place to eat as the food was just disappointing, the service is slow and the prices are crazy for the food you get. Definitely not worth the money at all. If you can avoid eating here I would recommend you find something else.
