We were recommended to try here by our hotel (The Vera) and were not disappointed with the menu choices or the quality of the food. The waiting staff helped us pick a menu that suited both our appetite and food intolerances and we were really pleased at their skill and choices. Very busy so you will have to book - whilst it is a hotel restaurant it caters for the public and for us was a hidden gem.

I was invited by three friends for my birthday. From the moment I stepped in, I was aware of the excellent and highly professional service. The starters were imaginative and delicious. The main courses were tasty and beautifully presented. The desserts were wonderful and, because it was my birthday, I was given an individual panna cotta cake, with one candle. All so beautiful. I highly recommend this restaurant.

There is no question that Mashya aims to please. Every detail of the decor, the serving dishes (some almost too heavy to lift), the wide selection of wines (poured from carafes rather than directly from bottles) and the interesting menu draw you in. About the food: for appetizers we ordered a tasty green salad and the flat bread with labneh. The dish only had stingy serving of labneh-not enough for the long piece of bread. We opted for the farida which was very good and the ognlet which was excellent. Note: The menu is in very hard to read - the print is extremely light. Perhaps that's because, as our waitress explained, the menu changes daily. That's not my style - I like to go back to restaurants because I liked certain dishes. With 2 glasses of good Israeli red wine the bill came to over 600 shekels. I think that's expensive but the place was full of happy diners.

Going to a restaurant with friends, one expects to eat well and have a nice conversation. This expectation was shattered by very loud techno music, forcing one to scream to be heard by people 50 cm away. The food was OK: my first dish was based on calamari that were too rubbery to enjoy. My main dish was superb - Qatayef with lamb's neck cooked very long, spread on lovely pancakes with herbs and condiments, a really excellent dish. For desert I chose Persian lemon tart. Lemon tarts are always a challenge, one needs to balance the sweet and the sour. This one was so-so, too sour for my taste. Wine prices are 3-5 times their store prices, but the dishes are priced like many Tel Aviv restaurants, i.e. expensive but standard. On the whole it was an OK experience, could be much better without the terrible music.

We had a reservation and while we arrived 15 minutes early, we were seated after 45 minutes. Our waitress was difficult to understand & missed introductory courses & was not engaged nor helpful in explaining the dishes. Note, cocktails are not hand-shaken rather they are premade and not tasty...we opted for a bottle of wine. Unfortunately, the interaction we had with the waitress severely impaired our restaurant experience.

We found the experience, overall, disappointing. Our waitress basically directed her explanations to only one person in our party of four, doing so in a low voice which was hardly audible to the rest of us. When told that we can't hear her, she just repeated her spiel in the same low voice, leaving the one person who heard her to explain to the rest of us. This was partly due to poor acoustics which makes for a noisy environment. Nevertheless, she made no attempt to make herself understood better. As for the food, it was uneven. Some of the dishes were very good and others no more than average. The sirloin dish was very good but served not as described in the menu. While some of the food was good, the presentation is pretentious, the portions small-portioned and the prices high. There is no proportion between the food served and the prices charged.

Great restaurant in Tel Aviv offering modern Mediterranean and Middle East food with traditional and local influences.
Especially appreciated the huge set of starters including delicious sweet-dry candy pumpkin and other colorful and tasty dishes from different countries Israelis came.
As main dish ordered modern cholent stew that was great as well.
Prices reasonable given the splendor and high-quality. The amount of food is substantial as well.
Helpful and nice staff and guests. Excellent bar services.

Lets start with the drinks. Tiny bitter del professore with tonic water, 42 IS. Very tiny Amaros, 58, two very midsize negronis 104 (we were 4).
A serving of 3 Oisters 99 (we ordered 3 of those so 297), one of us thought it was very good, one thought it was OK and I did not like it.
Sashimi albacore with "leche de tigre", 86, 6 small thin slices, the leche de tigre was way too sour.
Trout brochette miso butter and spinach, 122, prity good, but not much more.
The skirt steak was hard and tasteless, when we were asked about the food, I said that; the waitress called a manager (I believe his name was Meir), who heard and said nothing. Eventually, I guess when I said I'll mention that on my review, he took it off the bill (at least that).
I do recommend the barrio and cream dessert, but not the chocolate mousse.
Just avoid this restaurant, or don't go in too hungry, order perhaps two small dishes and no drinks.

It's hands down the best restaurant / bar that I visited during my short trip to Tel Aviv. Fantastic service from Ben and Itamar (please accept my apology if I got your names incorrectly), divine food, good wine selection and overall an absolutely amazing vibe throughout the night.
Everything was just perfect from start to finish.
I arrived around 21:30 on a Friday night without a reservation. The hostess quickly arranged for me a seat at the bar.
Ben made some recommendations and I didn't even need to bother opening the menu. All his recommendations were spot on.
My dining experience started with an amuse-bouche, followed by the Appetizer plate, (4 bite-size canapés), which was skillfully upsold to me with a glass of Ruinart Brut (I didn't mind at all, as it was a match made in heaven :) ), besides I had an amazing finely sliced tuna with "Leche de Tigre" sauce. After a short break I had Shrimps on sourdough bread with XO sauce and a looooooot of butter. All was washed out with a fantastic glass of white Israeli wine (not sure what I drank but it tasted as quite a good medium bodied chardonnay).
When I was about to explode and thought that the evening couldn't get any better, Itamar recommended to taste their chocolate mousse. To be frank, I don't like desserts, especially chocolate ones but the guy was so convincing that I gave up and ordered it. It was so worth it!
Overall it was a fantastic experience. The clientele was good (with good looking well dressed people who were truly enjoying their time), the atmosphere was amazing. The service was quick but not rushed. It looks like the staff are also enjoying working there. All dishes were delicious with a very refined presentation and the portion size was just perfect to enjoy the food.
Will happily recommend this place to all kinds of diners: solo travelers like me, who are looking for a good place to chill and enjoy themselves after a long day of sightseeing and the beach, couples who celebrate special occasions, friends who want to have fun in a cool yet elegant environment...
Mashya is a must visit place for everyone who understands about good food and service. It is on an expensive side but it was well worth the money and I personally don't mind paying for the experience.
Should I happen to be back in Tel Aviv, Mashya will be my #1 place to visit for sure.

After the year we had, we came to celebrate at Mashya and it was probably the best dining experience you can find in TLV. The fresh ingredients were brought to perfection and the staff was extremely polite and professional.
We'll be back ASAP
Reservations are a must btw

We booked Mashya ahead of our visit to Tel Aviv, based on Trip Advisor research. We were not disappointed!
Tucked down a street off Hayarkon, Mashya was easy to find and is located close to a number of the beachfront hotels.
The ambiance was lively, the welcome warm and we were looked after by a lovely waitress who explained the menu and dishes with great detail and enthusiasm.
We kicked off with a negroni each….the best we found during our stay. Variations on this classic cocktail had failed to impress elsewhere but this was pure and simple, unadulterated negroni!
The food was stunning. Exquisite flavours and presentation. My concluding dish, a chocolate mousse described as a ‘cloud’ was just that. Simply beautiful.
Along with Claro (already reviewed), highlight of this visit to Tel Aviv.

The last dinner in Tel Aviv we choose this place based on the review we had read.
I like the location with a stylish bar in the center and the minimalist decor for the table.
The good food overalll, especially the local fish and the bread cooked in wood oven were partially upset by the service, the position of the table, two meter away from the open kitchen, and really highs prices.
The total paid was not justified for the overall experience.

This place was a pleasant surprise. The food is delicious, you can taste the chef’s input in every bite. The attention is spectacular and the cellar outstanding.
The deserts are one of a kind.
I highly recommend this place for a special ocasión and do not forget to order the beef tartar.

Good food, not that great of a service
Located in the center of Tel Aviv, walking distance from the beach.
We arrived and set immediately, but than we waited for 20 minutes until someone decided to see if we want something
This problematic service continued for the all night were we needed to seek the waitress if we wanted something.
Beside that, the food is great (really really good food)
