Visited for dinner, was a little quite, but believe it is a certain client that visits, after all most probably try local food as opposed to a steak house.
Some good steak selections, some good starter selections, all presented well enough and came with flavour cooked as ordered.
Service was excellent. Would return.

The food was excellent. One of the best steaks I've ever had. In my mouth, the New York sirloin melted. The foie gras was delicious, and my wife, who does not eat red meat, enjoyed the freshly caught lobster. The atmosphere was vibrant, authentic, and enjoyable. Excellent service and attention to detail. Excellent work!

Came back to this restaurant and same satisfaction as before. Excellent meat and good decoration . We tried their meat platter for 2 and very nice ! My friend ( first time here) was so impressed with the meat quality , the knife choices and the gratin potatoe
Sauces and side terrines are really good . Wiĺ come back for sure

Wrote a review in 2016 and gave it 4 stars but now I'm going to give it only 3 stars.
With the rapid development in Phnom Penh, New York Steakhouse failed to improve with times. There were not many choices in 2016 hence it was worth 4 stars back then.
I would avoid their dry aged beef as the chef wouldn't know how to handle it medium rare. In 2022, this place is just a tad bit overpriced and dated for what its offering.

Nice and good tasting steak restaurant. Nice place to eat. We ordered different steak and all comes like we ordered it. The waiters are extremely friendly and helpful. It is a bit more expensive but it is worth the price.

We visited NY Steak for a bit of western food during a long Asian holiday. Exceeded my expectations! The ambience is straight out of an American gangster movie - red leather booths, rich wood paneling, movie star b&w photos, Frank Sinatra music, and spectacular service. The price for a steak is high for SE Asian but the quality is spot on. I am not a huge red meat eater but my partners family are cattle ranchers in the American west and she knows her meat. My ribeye steak and her petite fillet were cooked to perfection, exactly as the ‘doneness’ menu description and servers assurance. (Properly cooked beef is somewhat hit or miss- mostly miss - in SE Asian). The meat was cooked perfect, excellent taste, and properly aged. I had to love a restaurant that offers you a knife selection beforehand to cut the meat. Many extra touches were included - a salt and pepper selection, a sauce selection ( I tried it on bread - a proper steak should require no sauce or gravy) the taste is the meat! Attentive and friendly staff without being overly pretentious. Very good wine by the glass selection. On our visit there was nothing to find fault with - a really great steak, excellent service, nice atmosphere, 5 star toilets - and I have no problem recommending NY Steakhouse for a fine dining experience in Phnom Penh.

My family and I come here quite often. The food there is delicious, and the steak is exquisite! The garlic bread with pate they serve at the beginning of the meal is the best and we can't get enough of it! It was my birthday the other day and the staff was very sweet – gave us a 25% discount for the meal and a free chocolate mousse.

I didn't know what to expect since it was my first time there but the truth of the matter is that the more money you have the better treatment you get and the more trats you get to. The Bordeaux wine was absolutely excellent. The meat delicious. The treats they gave us afterwards as a gift which were popcorn were the best I ever ate in my life!!
Life is just so much better when you don't have to look at the prices of the menu and can just order anything you like!
Will definitively go back if I'm in some craving of delicious meet!
They even stayed open all afternoon just for us!!!
Exceptional staff!

From the entrance up to the meals all are perfect. We enjoyed our last dinner in Phnom Penh before we left that night. The steak are cooked well and the soups are good. The presentation is very eye catching and the ambiance is nice.

Partner feeling a bit queasy so needed some staple western food. Could have been in New York and food was excellent. Beware the starters they are fairly big. Wine list available. But be prepared for the bill because after 3 days of eating in the city this was like being charged for being in New York - £100 for two. If its what you fancy it is great.

Choose your Steak, great Tartare Steak and Rib Eye, aged 12 years. Good sauces and great choices. Excellent seating, all Americana Style...Decor. Presidential...Luxurious...Elegantly Sumptuous.

Don’t know why the standard have where gone wrong? First the salad, Caesar salad, the lettuce are not fresh and the bacon left it for too long that turns hard and not crispy when serve. The entrees, I ask for Dry Aged medium well Beef Fillet but it was serve medium rare, expecting that they will serve us another piece but was serve the same piece and it is well done. Worse is that it is not Dry Aged properly. Lastly the side dishes the creamy truffle spinach is too creamy with no truffle taste.
Hope they can improve the standard even when the chef or the boss is not around.
