Been here for my Coffee Journey and although one can see how run down the place is (especially the stairs and an old fashioned Lift which add to the old nostalgic feeling) but each floor (all 9 floor of them) actually is unique in their...own ways. You will find that there are other shops as well on each floor which includes beauty salons, a fashion boutique and restaurants. You can either opt to walk the stairs or take the lift (at a cost but don't worry as many shops and cafes in the building will reimburse the elevator fee when you make a purchase).More

Go for the views. From the 8th floor, it’s pretty nice! The elevator is super cheap but a bit sketchy. Watch out for rats while you wait for it….The whole building needs a huge cleanup. It is filthy! Interesting to see but not a must...go! Would not return.More

Looks nice in photos but nothing special in real life. The elevator up is quite scary and the building itself needs a good clean. Some cafe it's good I went Arabica % at floor 4 but nothing special.

Bit of a mish mash here with small vendors in different slots , all after the coffee light snack market. We sampled two one on the top floor and % arabica on the 4 th, latter was clean and modern with really nice drinks but...with London prices served in paper cups, both venues were without class but charging top dollar. Over hyped on social media .More

We visited here a couple of times in March and it was great! We visited 3 different establishments here, plus a couple of shops. They were all lovely and worth the steps in the humidity!! The views are lovely, service was great in all three...café/restaurants and I would highly recommend all of them.More

Not sure why this even gets 4 stars. It’s a run down building with little cafes that aren’t worth eating or drinking at. Ok, it’s cheap. That’s it. A couple of shops but nothing to bother seeing. Next.

This was an apartment building used by American soldiers that has been converted to restaurants and shops. It costs 3,000 dong (.13 US dollars) to ride the elevator up and down. We went to Saigon Oi and had an egg coffee on their balcony watching...the busy square below. It was a cute experienceMore

Love, love, love The cafe Apartments. Took the family here not really knowing what to expect. Hubby and kids 19 and 17 also thought it was awesome. What a wonderful use of space. Lots of fabulous, funky little cafes and beautiful little shops filled with...gorgeous product, unique perfumes, beauty items, gifts. We had a field day exploring and buying. There is small fee for going in the lift but apparently the shops refund it, But seriously, who cares (I think if was under $10). Big tip, take the lift to the top floor and work your way down the stairs through each level. Yes the stairs have some graffiti but it is uber cool. The building has a unique history, including providing offices and accommodation to Americans during the War. Great views over District 1. I was excited to clamp eyes on The Rex Hotel and other famous landmarks from one of the cafe balconies.More

i don’t understand why people say it’s overrated. you’re in vietnam to experience the culture of it right? this building housed american soldiers during the war, its great to see and the food is super reasonably priced. i would say buy one snack on each...floor or every other floor so you don’t get full on one meal, there’s a variety of things to choose from plus its PET FRIENDLY! (i assume) i went there with my little dog (maltese poodle) and never had an issue at all. perfect place to spend time at before taking a stroll down walking street in my opinion.More

We enjoyed our visit to The Cafe Apartment. It’s encouraging to see the different shops managed by the younger generation and the varieties on offer. It’s hard to visit every one of them and mostly would need to reply on online reviews. We visited some...local cafes and had lunch at Madame Queyen on level 5. Prices are pretty reasonable and we had some of the yummiest Vietnamese food there. We also visited the Japanese cafe Arabica % but prices are way above the local cafes and each patron needs to order a drink as a requirement of entry. The lift is available but it requires payment for usage while walking up and down the stairs (up to 8 floors) is free. It’s worth the visit when you’re in HCMC.More

I read that it's a special and nice place for a coffee or tea or just a dessert. It was very disappointing. First if you want to use the lift you need to pay. We used the stairs and checked each of the coffee shops....The prices for a coffee where 3 times more expensive than in any normal coffee shop. When we order only 1 coffee we were told that the second person couldn't stay because only if each person orders something to drink, can stay. No need to spend time in such a place.More
