My son and I had a meal here while waiting for our flight and enjoyed it a great deal. Their coffee was divine, the avocado toast was very tasty, and the service was friendly although they were quite busy. I would eat here again without hesitation.

The food here was excellent. If you are someone with a layover and looking for an authentic bite to eat l, I highly recommend this place. Hostess Mekdes & Belay were nice, welcoming and checked on me the entire time. Sometimes an airport can be hectic but they both made it an experience as if it was a 5 star restaurant. Highly recommend.

Located in the Addis Ababa airport, the food here was exceptional! We got appetizers and milkshakes at the request of my children after 11 days in Tanzania and eating primarily African cuisine. The food was delicious- especially the nachos and guacamole and the staff was kind and attentive. We will stop again next time we are traveling through!

Having had a stressful experience getting through transit control at Addis Ababa airport I wanted to find a quiet spot to have a drink and relax before my onward flight from Addis to Vienna. I saw a corner table at Cravings and sat down. I was immediately told by the young waitress, E..., that I could not sit there alone, the table was for four people. I found this unreasonable as the restaurant was half empty, but moved table without complaining. The waitress, unsmiling and unsympathetic about my obvious distress at the previous poor experience, took my order for a lemonade drink. After 20 minutes went by with no sign of my drink I asked a male waiter to see what had happened. He brought the drink immediately, so clearly it had been sitting on the bar all that time and the waitress had not bothered to bring it over.
In the meantime two men had moved from their table for two to the more comfortable table for four from which I had been chased. After they had left, some time later, a young single woman was served there and stayed a long time working on her computer. So why was she allowed to sit there and not me?
Two Tanzanians came to sit at the table next to mine and, with considerable difficulty because of the lack of helpfulness of E..., ordered cocktails, double-checking the price in dollars, presumably because they had limited funds in dollars. When they came to ask for the bill it took her about 20 minutes to bring it and a further 15 minutes to bring them their change. I think at a restaurant in an airport the staff should be aware that people may well be in a hurry once their plane has started boarding, but this was clearly not the case at Cravings.
I had several hours to wait for my plane and stayed sitting at my table reading. This seemed not to please the waitress or her manager, who at one point came to ask if I wanted to order anything. I said that I had already done so, having had my first drink and later ordered a bottle of water. Soon after E... brought me the bill, although I had not asked for it, obviously wanting me to leave. Staff should understand that sometimes passengers face a long wait at an airport and that, if there are plenty of tables still free, this should not be a problem.
The lemonade drink cost $8 and the water $1 (the normal price). When I did not leave a tip the waitress stared me out in a most insolent way.
So my conclusion about Cravings: forget it if you are a single older woman traveller. The service is arrogant and slow, and you may well leave craving for some human warmth. I have travelled around Ethiopia twice before and experienced nothing but kindness, so I hope Cravings is an exception rather than an example of a modern trend towards poorer hospitality.

Since they deleted my first comment, I have to write a new one.
$80 for 3 drinks and 2 burgers, served with the worst fries of my life is really exaggerated.
Commercial music at a level to give you headache.
My advice: go eat elsewhere!

Speedy-ish service 4/5.
Price: expensive for what you get 1/5.
Taste: average to less than average. Fries are dry and slightly chewy. Also they’re served in a container that makes you think you get a lot but the grease paper the container is lined in is folded such that the fries occupy about a third of the container only. Their signature burger is fine but nothing special so 2.5/5 awarded for this.
Customer service: staff friendly 5/5
Other bits: airport is so busy the WiFi doesn’t work meaning you can’t access their QR code menu, had to wait for the staff to provide us with a tablet to view the menu.

The catching girls running around are only friendly as long as they see a chance to sell you dinner. If you want to simply have a coffee, their face turn unfriendly, show you the “to go” bar and leave you standing alone trying to catch a more “valuable” person. You are just a walking dollar bill.

The food was really good, particularly their Ethiopian twists on popular foods. It was worth every penny. The staff are also exceptionally kind and attentive. I would recommend you stop by if you are ever at the Addis Ababa Airport ,thanks to waiter birara and hostess betelhem

The airport in Addis Ababa runs you around a bit when transferring internationally. The good news is that Cravings is at exactly the right place to provide a good meal and a cold drink between flights. Prices are fair, especially by airport standards. The staff is helpful. My server Israel and Hostess Mekdes were especially helpful. I recommend them.

"Wow, what a gem! I was pleasantly surprised to find such a fantastic restaurant in the airport. The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. Our hostess, edom & bar tender tedy, went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and had a great experience. I can't wait to come back next time I'm passing through Addis Ababa. Highly recommend!"

The service was great....friendly waitresses. Had a watermelon lemonade...very chilled and tasty. Really enjoyed the few minutes I spent there. Great atmosphere. Clean environment. Would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

I selected Cravings because of vegan offerings ans had an excellent evening, spending actually the whole stopover time here. Enjoyed great tasting fresh salad, local beer, and of course a Buna coffee.
Hostess Mekdes took personal care about the perfect service - thank you!.
A bit pricey, but worth the money.
I will sure come back.

Great place to eat at Addis airport. Friendly staff! Hostess Mekdes made sure I had everything I needed. Loved the food and will definitely come back next time.

The food and service keeps me coming back every time I travel to or through Addis Ababa. Very good array of food and drinks. Special mention to Bethlehem as she took her time with me ensuring world class service. Keep this up.
