Excellent Ethiopian food and dancing but, as always in Addis Ethiopian restaurants, be prepared for a bit of noise from the band. If in doubt about eating the various meat options, including a number of raw meat dishes, ask for the “fasting beyaynetu”. This is a selection of small fully vegan dishes served on injera on a large round dish or tray. Ideal for sharing and for the most authentic eating experience. If you want some meat to go with it you can ask for tibs, small pieces of cooked meat, to go with it. My favourite is “zilzil tibs” which is strips of dry fried beef.

food is very good (but too pricey for Ethiopia), and dance performances exquisite. on the downside it gets so loud when they play live music that you can hardly talk to each other. Entertainers also walk around and make you dance in front of your friends - not everyone’s cup of tea I guess.

A new and delightful experience for us to witness Ethiopian culture, their dance, their music, the local food and the ambience, all in a nutshell. It was pretty packed, but my local Ethiopian friend Abebe take us get into this place and for that we can't thank him enough. The Injera with the goat meat over the little coal furnace was surprisingly tasty. The black coffee with popcorn as starters were our favourite. We couldn't keep track of the time as the local artistes went on performing their expertise on the stage. It was indeed a memorable experience to be treasured for life.

The cultural restaurant does not disappoint in its endeavors to provide an insight into Ethiopian cultural dance and food. One gets to watch the dancers perform a variety of dances as well as song performances by the artists. One also gets to enjoy Ethiopian cuisine while watching the show. The dances step down from the stage to dance with willing patrons. Tips: the place may get crowded and sitting space limited. Carry some loose change for tipping the dancers. The seats may not be the most comfortable for prolonged sitting, I guess standing to dance may be a good idea after all.

While the decor and furnishings need freshening up, the food, entertainment and service are 5star plus in this establishment. I was particularly impressed by the musicians, that were clearly of very high caliber, and by the dancers that were entertaining, youthful, well dressed, enthusiastic and passionate about showing off the the regional folk dance customs of Ethiopia. The buffet was ONLY Ethiopian food, and this was fantastic. The service was very attentive to our drinks requests.

It's a great restaurant if you're visiting Ethiopia for a short stay and want to squeeze in some local flavor. They do a cultural song and dance which is their USP. The food is great but you pay tourist prices - easily around 2x or 4x of what you'd pay at other decent restaurants around town in Addis. The staff is a bit lost as they don't expect return visitors and couldn't be bothered with making an impression. I was surprised that the place also didn't have any juices or cappuccino etc - just alcohol and sodas.

My tour guide from Ethio Tours took me here on my first evening in Addis. I loved having the buffet of all different kinds of Ethiopian food including some delicious injera. The entertainment was a fantastic mix of singing and dancing from many different regions around Ethiopia. They could do with a MC to give a little info on where the dance/music has come from because my guide would tell me and that helped me to understand the context more. Really great night and I recommend this place

I believe that visiting Addis Ababa is incomplete without spending an evening in the 2000 Habesha Restaurant. The food is absolutely authentic Ethiopian with an incredible taste. I ordered goat meat and it was very good with Injera and the hot sauces. Every evening, there are dance shows to entertain the guests on site. The service is also decent in spite of the number of the guests. Sometimes, it may be necessary to book in advance. The only thing which needs attention is the menu and the waiters' ability to explain the food for visitors who are unfamiliar with the Ethiopian cuisine.

The manager here "accidentally" charged an extra $100 on my credit card and then somehow did not know how to void the transaction. We ended up having to get cash back in birr, worth far less to us since we're leaving in a couple days. After my hotel called he managed to figure out how to void, but by then it was too late for me to deal with. A shame this soured what was otherwise an amazing visit to Addis.

I good friend who lives in Addis for several years recommended me this place to see Melaka Belau, which according to him is the considered the best dancer in Ethiopia. Unfortunately he does not perform on Wednesdays. However, instead we enjoy one of the best jazz concerts I have ever enjoyed in my life, and I am an aficionado, member of jazz club in Lisbon and regular in different jazz clubs Madrid. The band, if I understood correctly, was Funk Disciples, form by 9 or 10 musicians with a great section of saxo, trumpet and trombone, as well as drums, percussion and piano. The leader, if I recall well, was Prof. Jonavan Cooper, you can find him in Spotify, although what they played sounded much better for my taste. The concert started with smooth Ethiopian jazz and finished with funk jazz, almost 2 and half hours that where enjoyable every minute. Apart from the concert, this cultural center is a unique space with small art shows and places to talk. I wish I could have a place like this in a Europe!! I hope I will no contribute with this enthusiastic comment to spoil the current atmosphere

Like other cultural restaurants in Addis Ababa, this one serves tasty food and presents traditional music and dance. We had the traditional vegetarian plate with a side of tibs. The food was tasty. I also had traditional coffee and Tej. The music was nice but the performance was not as good as at Yod Abyssinia.

Three generations of the family went and had an excellent time. Unfortunately as it was Ethiopian Christmas only the buffet was available, I had been hoping for some shakala tibs, but the food was good. The entertainment was fantastic and the atmosphere in the packed room was great. I highly recommend this as a good cultural experience in Addis Ababa.

Great way to experience the culture of this beautiful country! I went there twice with friends and colleagues. The food comes buffet style but you can order. You get to hear beautiful music and dances. I really loved the place. Great first place to go to see a bit of Ethiopia.

The service was good. The room is specious with seats facing the stage. The musicians looked very bored. The food was terrible. We ordered Tibse, shiro, alicha firfie and 2kitfo. The Tibse meat was off, not fresh. The shiro looked good but tested bland. Would not go back.

I was excited to experience the cultural events and enjoy Ethiopian food at this place. However, I was very disappointed by a woman who was sitting at the entrance. I visited on July 15, 2024, at 7 PM. Upon entering, I was checked by the security guard and another lady. I asked if I could make a video of the place, and they said yes. However, there was a woman in a yellow dress who was already on the phone, seemingly stressed. She suddenly approached me aggressively and told me to stop taking videos, even though I hadn't started yet. She told me to go inside and sit down. When I asked if I could take a video inside, she said I couldn't and that she had to ask the "boss" for approval. I was really disappointed because others had told me I could take a video. I left the place immediately. I want to inform the management that I am a YouTuber and wanted to promote this place to my audience back home. I love to showcase such experiences to them, which would encourage many to visit. The management should investigate this incident and teach the staff to communicate politely and treat visitors with care. This should not happen to another foreigner in the future.
