Not bad food, service is improving

I went there three times, all times the staff were very welcoming and attentive. I think the food takes long. They do not always inform what is on the menu, so we went through a whole list of things that were not there...not sure why were given a menu in the first place! The other time our foods were switched, no feedback nothing. They do have a good shawarma!

Falafel wrap

Tried the Lime Tree in Kazanchis. It is a good option to grab a bite in between meetings, less appealing for the evening (as it closes at 9 pm). The falafel wrap was tasty.

Spoiled food and service

Lime tree kasanchis use to be an ok restaurant to grab lunch due to its proximity to work/UNECA. Some of my coworkers and I were there yesterday and some of us had ordered chicken falafel. What they served was not chicken nor beef falafel and when we asked for a change...a full blown insult was thrown our way inculding spitting at my coworker. Overall, considering the Inflation or whatever heard they are not doing so well and are buying different kinds of meat and storing it with papaya to refresh etc. Also have heard many coworkers at the UN getting sick after eating there. Overall, bad food and bad service 😑

I often visit this place, Lime Tree Stadium, at the heart of AA. One of the best restaurants to have lunch, dinner or breakfast with iconic location for going anywhere you like. The prices are reasonable! The staff friendly, like family! The food like mom's! I recommend it with all my heart!

Very bad waiter!

I was @limetree Naini building next to Ghion hotel with family for lunch. I gave 2600 birr for the bill attached below for lunch(1300 of 200 birr note). The waiter come back after a while and she said that i gave her only 800 of 200birr notes. I went to the casher and asked if there is a camera, she said it is available. But we couldn't verify it as the manager is not present at the server room. I paid again and went out as i can't do anything. I dropped my phone no at the casher so that the manager check and phone me. Be careful of such things as it becomes common when you are in a big team. It was terrible!!!

Very long waiting time

I went to lime tree inside queens supermarket with family for lunch and we had to wait for more than one hour to get served, first no one wanted to give attention for newly comers and after we sit for few minutes we went to the chef’s place to give our order as no one approached us to receive our order, we loved the shawarma but the time we sit to get it totally reduces the satisfaction we got from it

Food decent but service poor

Food is decent (the chicken shawarma is delicious) but service is poor. This is at the Bole restaurant at least. Staff were indifferent. Almost no one spoke English. I asked for granola 3 times and never received it. If they are trying to also target foreigners living here then they should hire at least some staff that speak English.

The cafe is highly rewarded - why we never understood. The daily specials were sold out quickly and the roasted chicken with vegetables was not decidedly bad, just overly greasy and salted. And calling a bowl of oil or grease for a garlic sauce is such a shame. Well, the waiters were friendly, and the wifi kind of fast.

Excellent juice and tasty snacks

I went to the branch in Kazanchis, which was pleasantly busy but still easy to find a table. The lime juice was delicious and I enjoyed the falafel wrap.

Disappointing

Not easy to find as tucked away in a side street of Africa Av. Food was ok, really nothing special. The restaurant is also extremely noisy due to some bad acoustics of the building... furthermore, there is no WiFi. So for all those reasons Lime Tree is definitely not suitable if you looking for a calm place to work or hangout.

Dropping the ball

This place is OK but I suspect it is a shadow of it’s former self. The food is pretty good but the atmosphere is noisy and the cafe is tired and feels unloved. The staff seem a little disinterested and don’t make you want to come back. I think there are better options close by so perhaps look for an alternative.

Glad Kazanchis Has a Lime Tree

The second branch of the Lime Tree Restaurant in Kazanchis is quite convenient to the Intercontinental, the Radisson Blu, the Elilly, the Hilton and the ECA Headquarters, plus several apartment and office complexes in the Kazanchis area. There is a lot on the menu (which has daily features) to attract the large number of patrons seen. The Lime Tree is known for its fresh juices, and thus, we enjoyed a refreshing lime and watermelon mix. The lentil soup was a hearty starter and came with house-made brown bread made with sorghum flour. The Shiro with Njera and chopped tomatoe side was tastey and just right for lunch. The special lime and garlic roasted chicken was delicious and came with potatoes, roasted vegetables, rice and extra lime sauce. The protion was generous, so took some home. Interestingly, the lime-garlic flavor was more intense the next day (hint - always order enough for take away). On some days there is a wok stir fry 'buffet' and on others, schwarma meats. Indoor and outdoor seating is comfortable, and service is most competent.
