I Was looking for any traditional food in local restaurant and was not disappointed. I selected Ethiopian food and the amount served was a portion large enough for 2 persons. it was tasty and fresh. The place seems to be popular as it was crowed...with some people waiting for seats. Take ways are served down stairs at the counter , equally busy. I plan to try other menus on the listMore

We really like La Fontaine. It is great Ethiopian Food, with great price, and great location. We took a group of young adults there and everyone had a good meal and no one went away hungry, as the amount of food was too much to...finish. I had Tibs, which is grilled goat meat, with fresh flat bread. Really good. The only problem was that we had a big group, and they mixed up some of the orders. And they were slow. All restaurants in Djibouti have slow service, so that was unfortunately expected. If they can improve the service, the authentic Ethiopian food will be worth the wait.More

Not too many restaurants have cashiers who also roast the coffee on a pan in front of them. She's a very efficient cashier, too..... Lovely mostly Ethiopian restaurant on a busy street - but away from the street bustle two floors up on a rooftop...terrace. Huge fruit juices (my double mango bigger than a UK pint). Spicy goat tibs with a crispy pancake was just the thing. German Bundesliga with French commentary as entertainment if you couldn't see the open kitchen. This inexpensive (2500 for goat, double mango juice and fizzy water - no alcohol here) restaurant was interesting enough that I expect to return sometime during the rest of my few days here.More

A great restaurant to go to with a group of people. Get the sample platter and you won’t be let down. The food is well priced and extremely good. They have a section on the rooftop do go in the afternoon/evening as there are only...fans.More

So this place is very different than your standard Ethiopian restaurant. While you can get the typical wot dishes, they are more known for their grilled meats, which come from another region of Ethiopia. At least that's what is was told. You can get goat,...beef, or chicken and in my mind the chicken is the best. It takes a long time to get your order but that gives you more time to chat with friends. No liquor license so you are going to be drinking a lot of juice, water, or soda. It is outdoor seating on a roof which is nice. Be careful where you park if you drive to avoid a ticket.More

This is an evening restaurant, the place comes alive in the evening. It is a busy market area of Djibouti- so better to go shortly after 8 pm so that you are not trapped in the activity. the restaurant is a fine fusion of Ethiopian,...French and Yemeni food. You may actually be able to choose food in that range. It is open and so no air con-there are fans but the experience is worth it.More

Most of my dinners I enjoyed at La Fountain. Safe and secure place in the town center offering a wide variety of Ethiopian food stuff including vegetarian foods

Once you get to the roof-top, the aromas are welcoming you to what will most likely be an unforgettable meal. They have all of the Ethiopian classics, but if you do not feel like traditional food, you may opt for any other style of cuisine...here. I have visited twice and already on my second visit, I was greeted like an old friend of the house. The service may not be the fastest, but it is definitely of the better. The food is well worth the price (which, incidentally, is not that high compared with other restaurants). DEFINITELY a place to continue visiting.More

This restaurant was another new experience, they served us a mean in a huge plate. We sat on the floor and the meal is served on a plate and everyone uses their fingers to eat out of the same huge plate. It was uncomfortable for...me but I loosened up and had fun.More

We are here with friends one evening during our visit in Djibouti. The food was quite good - although they were out of the goat tibce and there was a mixup in communication about that. The beef was good and the part of the platter...I tried was excellent too. One thing - there is a metal roof over part of the terrace and it may have feral cats sitting above - just make sure that you are under the roof. Also the bathroom is a bit rustic. Don't let this dissuade you though because the food and experience are really quite good.More
