My new husband and I love this restaurant!! We first stumbled upon it two years ago on our last night visiting the island. They had amazing lobsters, ceviche, and seafood dishes, complete with live music and a romantic candle lit vibe. We couldn’t wait to go back! We loved everything from the ambiance to the amazing menu options, especially the banana fosters desert!!! So this year we went back for our destination wedding and we knew that we wanted our reception at Hibisca! They were AMAZING!! Everything I could have asked for and more! We ended up buying out the restaurant for the evening, having a live band, and open bar! They did such a wonderful job! The place was decorated with tropical flowers and palms, a dance floor was cleared for us after dinner and the food was AMAZING! We started with ceviche and chicken skewers appetizers, complimented with amazing sangria! We then allowed our guests to order from the menu, which everyone loved! The staff even danced the night away with us and celebrated in all our festivities! Our party was pretty crazy as the night got later but the staff was wonderful! Thank you to everyone at hibisca for giving me a memory I will NEVER forget! More pics to come once our photographer gets them back to us!

We had a wonderful dinner here on December 30. Highly recommend the frozen Mojito‘s…my husband had a coconut one and mine was pineapple. We started off with the voodoo cakes which are basically seafood dumplings, they were amazing. Then we had a seafood type of medley that wasn’t on the menu that was like a soup with a crab claw, shrimp, rice, fish and vegetables…it was amazing and definitely enough for two people. My only recommendation during this curfew restricted time is to go by 6 PM so that you have plenty of time to enjoy your dinner otherwise you will be rushed as they do close at 7 PM right now.

Divine drinks! Some of the best I tasted. They also have some pretty amazing desserts. I heard their hamburger was especially good so after a month of being here and not eating beef, I needed a hamburger and it didn’t disappoint!! Very tasty and the fries covered in cheese and bacon were so sinfully good.
If I had any small recommendations, it would be to only use plates that aren’t chipped and to have some kind of nets to cover food as you eat because the flies are bothersome but that’s just about everywhere on the island that this problem exists.
The service was fired este. Every single interaction I had was so positive and they genuinely treated every customer with car and respect. Friendly and personable and just the right amount of attention!

Went here based on reviews but left irritated and disappointed. Paid $100 US dollar for a dinner for 3 consisting of a small appetizer to share, one entry each, and only juice to drink. My entry was described as Seafood Coconut Curry, and was $22 (US) and was a plate of plain tasting sauce with pieces of fish, a few small shrimp, and cut veggies floating around. The other two entries were equally poorly prepared, felt more like a college kid had cooked them than a professional chef. I do not recommend you spending your money here, extremely overpriced and not good.

Entered the restaurant two hours before closing, ask for a table for two. Host asked if we were in for dinner. We explained we were just looking for dessert. He promptly said "we're closed" and walked away. I understand if they were holding the table for a group looking to eat a full dinner but at least take the time to explain the situation to us like human beings.

Too-loud bands, really drunk noisy American expats/tourists, and RIDICULOUSLY overpriced food. $50 bzd for SOUP. $70 bzd for like four crab claws. $24 bzd for a small bowl of ceviche that was 90% onions and tomatoes. The food is not terrible tasting (it’s mediocre), and was presented beautifully, but our meals were the most disappointing-tasting in comparison to every other meal, and most expensive on the island by far. I wanted to love Hibisca but I disliked basically everything about it, and I’m not a picky person.

Very surprised to see so many good reviews. This was our first dinner in Caye Caulker. I got the jalapeño margarita and it tasted like watered down juice. I couldn’t drink more than 2 sips before leaving the rest on the table. We ordered conch fritters as an appetizer- turns out it was $30 bzd for 5 of them. Mostly fried breading - total rip off. After this and the cocktails we bailed and went to a more authentic restaurant for dinner. Definitely would not recommend this place!

I really enjoy Hibisca. The food is very good, with some unusual items. If you have never been, you will love it. If you have gone many times over the years, like I have, you might wish for some new additions to the menu. But what they have is tasteful, and tastefully presented. They have live music several times a week.

The food was pretty good. Not the best we’ve had in Belize by a long shot. The service was good right up until they said we shorted them $20 US. We definitely did not. But rather than fight we gave in. I sort of regret that we did as the food was pretty overpriced to begin with.

This was our best meal in Caye Caulker. Also our most expensive, but the value was terrific. The colorful porch is a fun place to relax and dine. Portions are exceptional, service friendly and efficient. I highly recommend the shrimp and seafood with gnocchi, and my husband raved about the pork chops.

You can tell this place is run by someone with big time experience. The style of the wording on the menu, the pricing, the drink selections, everything said classy. I had a gourmet burger that would have been $20 on Miami Beach and it was $10 USD. The sauces on the appetizer were handmade and my gin and tonic had pink tonic. FUN. Our service was classy and not sloppy. Highly recommend but you may need a reservation if its primetime. They have about 10 tables on the patio and Im guessing they stay full.

The restaurant has an amazing vibe, the guy on acoustic guitar was awesome, the staff were friendly and some of the food was pretty good but …..
The ceviche was poor and just lime flavour alone - we left half and the server took it away without question if it was good ?
The lobster ravioli was pretty average and the only good dish was the baja tacos my wife had.
Love the place but ……

I had dinner here with my family and everyone enjoyed every single dish. Their kitchen staff knows exactly what they're doing. Their costumer service was 5⭐ also. Drinks were delicious, I'd recommend for sure!

For having great reviews in our guidebook, my partner and I were disappointed.
And - despite the advertising, not a good spot for vegetarians. Prices were really high for what we ordered and the food was only really fine. It's popular, so the vibe is always good ... but there are lots of other places that you can get better food for less money.

We came here for live music mostly but they were offering a sushi special as well. We thought the sushi would be of local catch but it wasn’t. We tried a verity of menu options the app sampler (fish cakes were eatable) one got 2 sushi rolls, 2 split the Mediterranean, snapper, and one ordered the steak taco appetizer. The ceviche from the appetizer was the worst we’ve had ever the fish cake was the only real edible item on the menu.. the fish for the rolls were not from locally sourced fish It even had salmon options, which was very confusing as there is fantastic local fish. Tuna style rolls were ordered, and the tuna inside was gray. The Mediterranean snapper was extremely salty from olives and capers, and was just not edible. The filling of a steak tacos was at least edible but the tortilla was like a waffle it looked like a big ruffle potato chip, but with thick almost like pita bread was hard. On a positive note, we had the rum punch and margaritas. The drinks were very good and definitely worth going back for the bartender is actually not a bartender. He is a server and is playing mixologist very very good at it. Our total bill was US$189.. The biggest waste of money we have experienced while here very very disappointed.
