Having read favorable reviews of this eatery on TA my wife and I booked a table for her birthday. We just got home and I'm writing this with a delightfully full tummy! The format defines the experience. It's an all-you-can-eat-for-two-hours foodarama served in tiny portions....I had read a review that raved about the beet tzatziki and it was delicious! We ordered it three times and plan to find the recipe somehow somewhere! I can hardly tolerate brussel sprouts but theirs were very good. The lamb lasagna was especially good as was the cauliflower, brazed in cheese. We also had meatballs which were fairly basic but for the delicious and mildly spicy sauce they were served in. The naan and bread balls were fresh and delicious as well. This was the kind of dining experience designed to make an honoree or guest feel special! Our waiter Carlos could not have been more considerate or attentive! He patiently explained how the ordering process worked and gently shared helpful opinions and preferences of his own to guide us. When he discovered it was my wife's birthday he asked if we could stay a few minutes longer while the kitchen prepared a beautiful and delectable dessert plate for her. Carlos rocks!More

We recently went to this restaurant and had a wonderful time! Our party included 4 adults and 4 children (ages 3-12). A great time was had by all. I was skeptical as to the quality we would receive since it was a tasting menu but...was pleasantly surprised to have dish after dish of gourmet food presented at our table. Most of our group was vegetarian and the staff was easily able to accommodate us. We also chose the unlimited drink option which included freshly (no mixers here!) made cocktails and wines. Looking forward to returning. Highly recommend!More

This place is delicious! The best way to do it is the Ambar Experience. That is their all you can eat plates with a 2 hour time limit. I would recommend doing that with a group of 4-6, that way you can try a bunch...of different plates. You can order multiple of the same plate too, so if you find something you really like, you can get more of it. Price is on the higher side so this isn’t an everyday kinda place. But you’ll leave full of delicious food.More

Food was good, ambience good, Melissa was outstanding, we tried a variety of plates, food is of good quality, the only negative is that if you are paying for three meals, get a plate for each customer of what you order, not one plate to...share with three paying customers. Melissa provided great information on the food, and great service.More

I surprised my husband with a trip to this restaurant. This place exceeded our expectations! Service was excellent with all of the servers bringing food, refreshing drinks and making us feel well taken care of. We chose the sample menu with unlimited drinks..DO IT!! It...was amazing to be able to try so many different dishes then go back to the ones you love. The beet dip was EXQUISITE!! If you truly love beets you will LOVE it. It was served with a warm pita and two cinnamon donuts and was sooo good and fresh! It tasted as if they literally pulled them up out of the ground ! So fresh ! We had the tartare, lamb, pork belly, fried chicken and a few i can’t remember but were all good hot fresh and balanced. The meatballs were horrible and the fries had a sauce that wasn’t tasty and were cold. Even with those two negatives it was overall fantastic! The drinks were perfectly blended and not watered down. The Austrian Cider was better than expected. Atmosphere is a 10/10. Perfection start to finishMore

Fortunately, I do. Visited Ambar on a chilly November night. Although we sat inside near the kitchen, between the customers and waiters going in and out the front entrance, and to to serve those dining outside, the front door was for all purposes open all...night; it was about 55 degrees inside where we sat in the back; so we dined inside wearing our overcoats. I was looking forward to a hot bowl of tomato soup, but it arrived at the table below room temperature, and had to be sent back. Baked beans we ordered suffered the same fate. My complaints about the downstairs bathroom are for another post. Let's just say that if you are a male, better be ambidextrous or have good aim. But overall, we enjoyed the food and drinks; our waiter was attentive, and all had a good time. Worth a second visit.More

I’ve been to Washington, DC for a couples of days and I wish I had found this place earlier. The service and food are amazing. The restaurant has a full dinner meal for just $40. It’s definitely worth a try.

This place was amazing and I will be talking about it for a month! A must go when you’re in DC. We ate outside and it was gorgeous… servers were attentive and knowledgeable. I will definitely be back!

First meal of the first night of our first real family vacation in almost 2 years!! The area is pretty cool itself - lots of different cuisines. Had a reservation for the patio and we were seated very quickly. Our server, Amber, guided us through...the menu and the food just kept coming! Terrific value for a tapas-style meal. Four of us shared almost everything - we all love to try new things! Our daughter has quite a few dietary restrictions (including gluten), and she enjoyed her dinner, too. Thanks, Ambar, for a great experience.More

Had an amazing Anniversary dinner here! Their tasting menu is so fun. Everything we had was delicious. It's also the most affordable tasting menu in D.C. Spring for the drink pairing. Service was so quick and attentive. Love this place!
