I have always wanted to go to this restaurant and my husband booked for our wedding anniversary, I was so excited and it didn't disappoint. Quaint restaurant in a house type setting with tables in each room, really enjoyed the ambience. The staff were fabulous, always checking on us, filling up our water, talking to us and making sure we were having the best night. Very friendly and professional. The food was amazing, we had the shared plate with 5 different starters, I had the gnocchi which was so fresh and light, then we had the most amazing creme brûlée I have ever tasted, served flaming to our table with happy anniversary in scripted on the plate. Timing of each was perfect. The italian wine recommended to us was spot on. Highly recommend. If you are going to enjoy this experience please dress for the occasion, was disappointing to see some couples come in dressed like they had just come from the gym / lounge ~ tracksuit.

Nunzio’s comes up in a search of best restaurants in the Fremantle region with 5 stars. so being a lover of Italian food I selected this for a family birthday celebration. Winner! I am now the best step-mother-in-law on the planet. A group of five we arrived for an early seating and were treated at the door, taken to our table and immediately water was brought to the table with menus. No it wasn’t busy but the service was a great start. Drinks included everything from a nonalcoholic wine, to negroni, limoncello cocktail and gin and tonic. A good range of beverages to suit all tastes on the menu. Menu choices are broad enough to keep pretty much everyone happy with enough choices to make it hard. Don’t worry, our waitperson suggest a tasting plate instead. What a wonderful thing it was. The eggplant, scallops, prosciutto were standout and the steak tartare order by one of the guest was apparently absolutely delightful also. Round one and everyone was impressed. Second, entree size serves of the prime platti menu: pappardelle with beef Chianti rage, gnocchetti all burgio, duck ravioli, squid ink fettuccine were all a big hit and no one had a complaint about anything. Yes we did go to secondi platti: lamb shank, chicken involtino, pork medallion, beef tenderloin (and OMG that Gorgonzola sauce) all superb and with the steamed veg. Did we make it to dessert? Yes some did. Creme brûlée, a chocolate thing but I am afraid I don’t really recall what they were as I had hit food coma. I will have to go back. Again and again. Truly do yourself a flavour favour. Our waitperson never wrote a thing down but forgot nothing and as the plates arrived they were placed in front of the correct person. Gotta love that level of attentiveness.

Went to a family gathering at Nunzios and as a table of eight we were placed in the larger rear room with a rather rowdy table next to us. Service was very good, wine list was barely adequate and very over priced but the food was very good and reasonably priced and served by a great staff who made us feel at home. Nunzio himself told us a few stories about himself and family and that added to the family feel about the place. Good night overall and we shall return.

We booked to ensure our table and were surprised to attend a very sparsely populated restaurant after we had heard it was good. We were welcomed into an attractive dining room (white table clothes; well set out) and given menus, beverage list and had water orders taken promptly. As friends we had a bit of catching up to do but found this difficult as our wait staff was intent on getting orders out of us as quickly as possible, and returned to the table several times to pressure us to do so. It was an uncomfortable experience. The meals were good, however several of the dishes, especially the starters were over-priced and the charges for extras were rather steep. The wine list was adequate but when one orders a fairly expensive wine with a listed vintage it is not right to bring another vintage. The vintage I required was in the cellar. Also bringing out the vacuum cleaner while we (and others) were still having our meal was unacceptable, We did not stay late! It was an expensive night and convincing us to make a return visit would be unlikely.

We discovered this little gem last Saturday evening and our first visit did not disappoint. The restaurant is unassuming from outside but is obviously a very popular dining venue as inside was very busy. There is some fabulous art on display inside which is available to purchase. We started with fresh homemade bread and olives, I then had the pork medallions and my husband the squid ink fettuccine with prawns. I then had a gelato dessert and my husband enjoyed the limoncello dessert. The portion sizes were perfect and all the pasta dishes are freshly made on the day by the owner’s wife. The food was authentic and delicious-beautifully cooked and presented, the service was superb. Highly recommended and we shall return!

Vistited Nunzio twice in a week-long spell in Freo last week. This classic Italian resto continues to provide great food at reasonable prices and the wine list contains some real gems (or it did until our party attacked some of the great Chiantis available!). I had a wonderful goat casserole the first night and the squid ink fettucini the second sitting - equally impressive. Can also recommend the scallops to start or the tartare. All beautifully prepared and served with a smile. Thanks to Lisa who looked after us both times! I will be back as soon as possible...

Six of us ladies dined at Nunzios this week. Service was attentive and ambience was beautiful but there was a cold draught and it was a cold day. Some of us had to keep our coats on. Our mains were served within a good time and were delicious however we were very disappointed in the very small serves. One lady ordered Barramundi wrapped in puff pastry with asparagus. The meal came with one head of a tiny thin asparagus. She asked the waitress if she could have more as this was very mean considering the dish mentioned asparagus. For $44 a serve this was not value for money. My meal was pork cutlets, but was given three small pork fillets, nicely cooked but the accompanying vegetables were a joke. One paper thin slice of sweet potato, three tiny dry pieces of roast potato and the gravy was a thin line around the edge of the plate which was cold. Also one tiny thin baby carrot. For $29 I would have expected more vegetables. Another surprise was the $25 GST added to our bill. I thought in West Australia all prices were GST included. We did not dare order a dessert as prices were high and we did not want another tiny dish. We all went for icecream across the road. I have enjoyed two previous meals at Nunzios but things have changed and it is definitely not value for money. The mocktail was delicious.

Hello, thank you for your feedback. We are happy you enjoyed the meal and we will look into improve what we can. To clarify an important matter, the prices on the menu are GST included, and on the bill you simply see that amount as a separated line. Regarding the vegetable served with the barramundi, it is called samphire, also known as “sea asparagus”, the reason why we don’t put more of it is that it is naturally quite salty and we use it as a garnish to complete the dish, putting more may result unpleasant. Thank you. With kind regards Eva

Booked this place for a birthday celebration based on the reviews and was hugely disappointed. Ordered the Duck Ravioli and there were approx. 8 squares of Ravioli for AUD33. While ordering, the waiter explained that there were two sizes for the Ravioli - Starter (AUD26) and Main (AUD33). He explained that the starter size was quite small but said the Main is perfect for a main course meal. Well, let's say 8 squares of Ravioli should be the Starter portion and the Main course should serve a LOT MORE than that. Post dinner (didnt take too long to eat my tiny serving), we were given the dessert menu and when I said I needed more time to have a look, the waiter left and came back soon after saying 'time's up, ready to order?'. I'm not sure what the rush was but at that point I decided this would be the first and last time I dined at Nunzio's.

Noting the number of considerably high reviews, my fiancé and I were expecting a lot higher caliber of dining than we experienced. Having looked through the reviews again I will echo another previous patron in saying that the gnocchi tasted like something out of a packet. The ‘special’ was the Lobster Linguine, which was poorly presented (with half the lobster on the plate) and was incredibly overpowering, leaving a sickly note to the meal.

Although we live quite close to Nunzios, this was our first visit. It certainly won't be our last. We go out quite a lot in Fremantle, but we wanted somewhere a bit special for my husband's birthday. This was certainly it - the general ambiance, attentive service and delicious food reminded us of an upmarket restaurant in Italy. We shared quite a large entree of prosciutto and the best mozarella I've ever tasted. For me the main course was special because of the special gluten free gnocchi with squid and prawns in a great seafood sauce. My husband really enjoyed his fish wings and a distinctumive flambed creme brulee. All in all, a great restaurant experience a cut above some of the more "trendy" Fremantle eateries, especially for a special evening out.

Was so excited to visit this upmarket restaurant. Was aware of the very high prices .but the service was appalling . The staff member informed one guest she should go to another restaurant if she does not like the prices. Who says that . ? The food was delicious. But portions very tiny .Coffee was served cold and one friend received her side after we all had eaten. But she did get it on the house as it was a waste . My friend informed staff about the rude staff member and was just shown the door. We were all made to feel uneasy and in todays world you would think you need customers . Not make them feel the way we did . Our evening was ruined by one staff member . She was stomping around and grabbed a coffee out of another staff members hard . Strange behaviour. Would not return . Sorry to say

Dear Alison, We are sorry to hear that your experience was not pleasant, however I feel a clarification is in order. The staff member reacted to an abusive comment made by one of the guests, who complained about the price of an item on the menu (before ordering), swearing loudly, also disturbing other customers nearby. After this incident she decided to step away from servicing your table in order to avoid further conflict. Please note that staff members are not responsible for management decisions so that comment made to her was totally inappropriate. Although the quote says “the customer is always right” doesn’t mean they have the right to swear and be rude. Secondly, a lengthy conversation was held at the end of the dinner about what happened and I apologised for the overall situation. Nobody was shown the door.

We had such a brilliant night at Nunzio's. From the moment we walked in, we were treated like we were the only people in the restaurant. The wait staff are knowledgeable, friendly and efficient with great suggestions on what to order. All six of us ordered a different entree and main so we had a good range of the menu and all of it was top class produce, cooking and presentation. The food is simply spectacular and I just cant fault a single thing about our dinner. Cannot wait to return.

We were recommended to come here for dinner. Quite excited re the menu and the wine list. It has a very nice decor and the tables spaced for privacy. Our waitress was really helpful on the wine and food selection and was very attentive. I’m not sure that the food was as we had expected but we enjoyed it.

Our first time at this restaurant but we will be back. Crisp linen tablecloths and napkins, polished silver cutlery and a warm welcome set the tone. Interesting artwork adorns the walls throughout this restaurant which was once an early Fremantle house. It had a great atmosphere and comfortable feeling. The service was exemplary and friendly plus just the right touch of humour. Now to the food! It was amazing. Hot bread rolls, scallops, red emperor wings and creme brulee which was flambeed at the table. I have never come across it served that way but it was super and formed a super crisp delicious topping. I can highly recommend Nunzio's and would go back in a heartbeat.

My partner and I booked the restaurant and we went on a Saturday night. We booked a couple of weeks in advance and the online booking site was quick, easy and simple. No problems at all. We arrived at 6.00pm and were shown to our table. The staff were great and charming. They advised us of the specials and the service was professional and efficient. We had the Zucchini flowers which were amazing and mushrooms which were also very nice for starters. For main I had an Italian sausage Gnocchi which was beautiful and my partner had red emperor linguine which she rated. The pasta was homemade, fresh and was amazing. The service was great, the food was great and the prices were reasonable for a fine dining/ up market style meal. It was probably the nicest meal I’ve had in Fremantle and we will definitely be back, sooner rather than later.
