I visited last week whilst in Fremantle staying with family and friends. I really loved the small homely atmosphere of this little restaurant. As it is small it is advisable to book especially at weekends when it gets busy.
The menu offers lots of choice including several pasta dishes as you would expect. I opted for a silt spaghetti with garlic and herbs. We were served a minestrone soup to start which is complementary and was delicious. I also love the fact this is a B.Y.O and we were provided with a wine bucket to ensure our wine was cold.
Service was friendly and efficient. My spaghetti was also delicious and plentiful. My family had the mariners spaghetti and they also said it was delicious. We were too full for desert but there were several options available .
The meal was very reasonably priced and we enjoyed it so much we returned a few days later. I would definitely recommend this little gem!

I went there especially for the grilled whole flounder but it was no longer on the menu so had the grilled john dory instead, which was sweet and moist but the serving was small. Over the years I have travelled a long way just for the grilled whole flounder (the jewel of the sea) so I was extremely disappointed to find on my arrival that it had been taken off the menu, although the menu on the net still listed it. To me it's the highlight of their menu - I would not have travelled such a long way to eat there if I was aware that the grilled whole flounder was no longer served there. Not many restaurants serve it so hopefully management will reconsider their decision and bring it back on the menu - if it cost a bit more so be it. Everything else was perfect. I appreciate the old-fashioned style and food of this family run restaurant and hope they will never change the décor or the food on the menu.

Very disappointed of marinara pasta and lasagna the food taste plain more like microwave food. need to add more chili or parmesan and other flavours to give it his extra note and character. the only thing which left was a pool of oil in my plate
would not recommend this dishes.
I can understand that the good reviews have been made by families without culinary world who have made this place part of their classic Australian routine.

We visited on Sunday evening 6th June 2021. We had a booking thankfully as the place was full.
The service was quick, efficient and very friendly. The hygiene and covid related cleaning standards were brilliant. (we watched them sanatise everything including the chairs)!
This comes across as a very family run restaurant and that can't be bad. We took our own wine and corkage was cheap. We had a red italian wine, which we have chilled. The waitress noted it was chilled and brought us a chilled cooler to keep the bottle in, (this is excellent service in my opinion).
We had sea scollops to start, which were $18.50 for 5. We thought this was expensive, however, they were fresh, plump, cooked to absolute perfection, and not expensive when you enjoyed every mouth full.
We both had veal dishes, both different items. They were served with FRESH vegetables and the veal was delicious. the whole plate of food was amazing!
We did not have desserts, too full.
I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. If we lived in Fremantle we would go here every week.
You get complimentary soup to start, we did not have this as we knew we would not eat our other food if we did, so cannot comment. However, tables nearby were speaking highly of it.
Give it a go when next in Freo - but take my advice and book a table.

Went for a first time visit with a group of 6 for lunch on a Friday.
Must say from start to finish that our waitress gave us the best services we've had in a Perth restaurant for a long while. Wine and water glasses waiting. Ice buckets delivered without having to ask. Food came out promptly and not starters and mains all dumped together like some places.
We're given bread with nice soft butter and a choice of soup for a starter. This was included with any main.
I had the spaghetti marinara, which was in an oil/garlic based sauce rather than the tomato. Delicious...
Garlic bread was the real deal, not just garlic salt with butter.
Will be back...

We went here for lunch on my partner's recommendation. It's not much to look at but the food and service is amazing. I had the spaghetti marinara which was delicious - I often feel stuffed after pasta but they don't try too hard with the sauce instead letting the seafood (of which there was plenty) be the star of the dish. My partner had the veal Marsala with a side of spaghetti. Very large servings and lots of complimentary extras when you order any main course including bread, soup and salad. Very friendly and efficient service. Definitely highly recommended.

What a gem Capri is - good, honest, Italian food. Be sure to get there early as this place is busy but there’s a good reason for that, the food is wonderful. Whether it’s their minestrone or pasta with chilli, parsley and garlic or the Saltimbocca - check out the menu and you may just have trouble deciding on what to try. If you need to wait for a table to come free, it will be worth the wait.

Omg this would have to have been the best fillet minion I have had in years. If you do order this, it’s imperative to order the mushroom sauce with it. It is truly sublime. Will we be back ? Most definitely. Lovely service too from a girl who raves about the family who own the restaurant and treat her like a member of the family. It’s like a neighbourhood restaurant and although they are busy they don’t rush you out. Bread was included which was lively and fresh plus minestrone soup.

We were struggling to find a good restaurant that was open on Australia Day, but were lucky to get a table at Capri. Food, especially the steaks, was great. The free minestrone soup was also a nice and tasty touch. Just BYO if you want a wine!

I dine at the Capri every time I'm in Fremantle. It's an old fashioned, family-run Italian restaurant. I asked my waitress how long the Capri had been in business, and she said "a very long time." Apart from the complimentary table water and the fresh crusty bread, the chicken soup is very tasty, The menu is typical Italian, I ordered lasagna. The Capri is in the heart of Fremantle, it's one of the best-known restaurants in the port city. I'm told the house red is good, but I declined as I get sleepy if I drink at lunchtime.

We visited for Sunday lunch and were lucky to get a table as it was busy, but they quickly set up a table for us. We were greeted by very friendly service at the front that continued through to the other staff. We were offered a complimentary chicken soup starter but declined as we were already eying off the desserts. We both ordered veal meals and were very satisfied with both. One of us declined the salad dressing due to intolerances and was offered a substitute. After the mains we had dessert - both made fresh (not bought in) and they were delightful. Food quality was high and the service terrific. It is BYO so remember to take something along.

The best meal we’ve had in Australia in 14 years of visiting.
On entry the restaurant feels homely and without pretence. It felt like being in a French bistro. Friendly helpful staff who advised it was BYO when booking which was helpful and saved about $30 on restaurant wine prices.
A complimentary soup when having a main meal. My wife and I had the chicken broth and it was very tasty. For a main I had the squid, scallop and prawn skewers. 4 of them. Not a small portion. Stunning, plus a freshly made chilli sauce. However good they were, my wife’s fillet steak with mushroom sauce on the side beat it. No steak knife needed here. A top quality steak cooked to perfection, medium rare as requested. Undoubtedly the best steak we have ever had in the world, and we travel extensively. We look forward to returning.

There is some dispute whether the Capri or the Roma is the top Italian restaurant in Fremantle. The Capri has a family atmosphere, plus there's complimentary minestrone soup. I like the wait staff, they all seem to be related. The Capri serves traditional Italian food, you are unlikely to be disappointed.

Rang well in advance to book a table for 8 on a Monday night and was told they can’t take the booking because it puts to much pressure on the staff to handle a group of this size ?
They could take 6 .
Really ?
I presume if we booked 2 tables of 4 that would be ok .
Weird … they are still serving 8 people regardless of where they sit .
Funny attitudes from restaurants these days . You would think they would be happy with the custom .
Perhaps they are going so well they don’t need our patronage .
Oh well … somewhere else … sure they will welcome us .
