This was a great find as we were desperately in need of a coffee and didn't want to join the massive social distancing lines for people waiting for coffee. COVID19 had made the simple things all that more difficult. We ended up seeing this cafe open and hardly anyone queuing. The shop was practising strict COVID19 rules and the staff member was fast and efficient in dealing with orders and coffees. We enjoyed a great coffee and one of their healthy snacks before leaving. Very friendly and good coffee. What was interesting was there weren't many people here. I would return here again.

Best breakfast I’ve had since arriving in Australia almost 3 weeks ago!! You can tell the customers dining were regulars from the way they interacted with staff which was lovely to see. Really nice atmosphere. Lots of newspapers to pick up.

We have been meaning to try Broody Hen for some time, finally made it this morning, so glad we did. Raspberry Muffin and a Date biscuit, both very good. Tea was nice, husband said his long black coffee was the best he'd had for a long time. It's a very relaxing, low-key cafe, staff helpful and pleasant. We will be back - the menu looks appealing.

This morning I paid $5 at Broody Hen, 1/13 James Street, Fremantle (one of our two "locals") for a takeaway flat white, the "barista" (pardon the exaggeration) made something like warm milk. I took it back to him and requested an extra shot in the top. He had a cold extra shot sitting on the counter and instead of making a fresh shot, added the cold one to the weak flat white and charged me another $3.50 for his trouble.

Broody Hen was a fabulous place for coffee and lunch, great staff and atmosphere. Obviously things have changed since the new owners have taken over. My husband buys me a coffee most mornings on his way to work and some days the coffee is good and some days pretty average. Todays looked like a cup of weak tea and was cold so I decided to take it back and expected ‘I’m sorry - lets make you a new one. The customer service from a short lady with short hair was awful - without going into detail I walked out and will not be returning. When our many customers ask where to get a good cup of coffee I will no longer suggest Broody Hen but to head across the road where the staff seem much happier in their roles and the coffee was certainly much stronger and enjoyable and served with a smile.

Had to sent my car to the pitts, while walking around and trying to look a vegetarian friendly cafe (after two failed attemps) I saw Broody Hen. Went inside with low expectactiones but end up being a nice surprise. Really good breakfast, excellent value and the place felt very warm. Had th cheesy toastie and a muffin with an almond latte and my partnet the eggs benny burger, everything yummy. I recommend it

Fabulous little cafe, great food, very good service. One of my favourites here in Fremantle. It can be tight as it is not very big. The central table is a lovely place to meet people when they are not on their phones. Newspapers are provided. Coffee excellent. Food choice suitable for a little cafe.

A pleasure to visit early in the day - after the gym or swim nearby - the personification of a real family café - environment right and very personalised service always friendly - no person too difficult to accommodate - quality and the business show that it works - even during COVID-19 times - congratulations to the not-broody hens but busy and thoughtful 'chicks' who serve great meals, tea and coffee with a smile.

A quirky corner café with atmosphere, lovely coffee and hot chocolate and staff who seem to enjoy their work. Also the sort of place you can chat to the other customers and ask where they bought their coat.

Casual Saturday brunch to get out of the cold. Had some Jaffles, soup, and coffee. The chai tea latte was perfect for warming up. Really enjoyed the ambiance and meal.

Stopped by for just a coffee but decided to have one of their chocolate and orange muffins. I must say that it didn’t disappoint. I love that all their food is made on the premises. The two girls serving couldn’t have been more friendly, what two great assets for a small business to have. The place was spotless inside and out. I can’t help but think that the last reviewer when to a different cafe.

Had a disappointing experience here, where I was spoken to in a very condescending manner by the waitress. When I offered feedback, was told I was exaggerating. Will never return. A customer's experience is their own, and it's not cool to tell them they are exaggerating. I'd also like to add that supposedly clean water glasses were grubby looking and some had lipstick stains on them.

This is my go to place for coffee. Donna, Mel and the other staff are incredibly welcoming the moment you walk in. The coffee is very consistent and tasty. Muffins are freshly cooked every morning - blueberry and chocolate are our favourite 😁
