OK this looks like a tourist trap but we were into it! The aesthetic is so well done - it really looks and feel like you are stepping back in time. Even the candles are real. We ordered some sort of hot cheese and local...beers that came out in hand blown glass and pottery. Perfect spot for a little reprieve from the cold.More
Great evening at the Olde Hansa, our host Sylvia made the evening very enjoyable. The atmosphere and food was amazing. Would definitely return. Nice dark beer.
This is one of the most beautiful buildings in the old town, but also a popular tourist trap. Average food but too expensive. For some reason the service wants you to believe that you are a Master and you leave your medieval dream, but these...are only for the funs of Eurovision... By the way, the building is much more beautiful from outside rather than insideMore
Strange place. Huge. Noisy. Almost stressful. Completed medieval concept. Do not recommande for a quiet romantic dinner. The restaurant is a big medieval feast. The food from a bygone era. All kind of wild meat, missed the unicorn though ;)
Great atmosphere and service but the food wasn’t that great. This experience was enough because of the food. Happy although I experienced this middle age place with so nice details. 4/5 stars not for the food.
If you are more interested in a show pretending to show you the middle ages than good food, this is the place for you. They have costumes, flute music and everything is «old style». So far so good. But the food was far from extraordinary,...it was ordinary st the best. Anything good to say about the place? Yes. The have a very good honey flavoured dark ale, whitch is worth a visit alone. Take a few at the pub Danebrog in the same house, and you get an idea about the concept. And a few good beers. An extra plus was actually the the live middle age music. Very good musicians, the the sounded really well.More
We had a fantastic small lunch here. At first, we were a bit worried that this is just a gimmicky tourist trap, but the food was great, as was the decor and the service, and we enjoyed it very much. Prices are reasonable for a...restaurant in such a central location.More
Crap.very poor service.not allowed to order part of menu unless you sit on your own table.very unaccomidating waitress
Went with group. Reservation made ahead but as mentioned in many other reviews, reservation was Lost( seems common occurrence there) . Fortunately got in anyway. Disappointed that No Music on Mondays and server did not attempt any of “medieval patter” ( none! Not even bad...attempt) could have been at US chain Red Lobster or like. My meat platter was not bad although very salty and other raved about mushroom soup.More
This was the perfect spot for medieval dining. The menu was medieval in concept and the servers were attired appropriately for the period. They also did a magnificent job of keeping their language in the period in which it was conceived which added a great...deal of fun to our dining. They have both inside and outside seating. The service was super friendly, the food was yummy and the beers and ciders hit the spot. Good eats! Good fun!More
We had just arrived in Tallinn by ferry and wanted some lunch before we were able to check into our hotel. We walked into the old town and for one didn’t checkTA but used the old method of seeing which place was busy and having...a quick look at what people were eating. We wanted a light lunch like a salad and we could see they had them on the menu. We sat outside and ploughed our way through the lengthy menu written in ancient script and found 2 salads so ordered one of each. Tried to order a Diet Coke to go with them but they don’t serve soft drinks so had water. The salads were fine, enough to keep us going through the afternoon but were nothing special. Service was OK, servers spoke good English and food appeared promptlyMore
Great atmosphere, good service bilut that's it. Since last time I visited, about 3 years ago, food got much worse. It's just loaded with spice. Ordered lam, all we could taste are spices. Very much disappointed, kitchen got much worse. However, good place for a...drink and atmosphere just don't eat there.More
Very nice and medieval experience! The food was kind of funny flavors but very tasty and very nice beers. The atmosphere is lovely and I totally recommend make a booking. I really wanna go back and enjoy the place.
A few days in Tallinn and thought this might be a fun experience. It was. I loved my dark honey beer and my son said the steak was best he had tasted. The staff are very friendly and atmosphere great. I had a huge liquor...coffee at end of meal which was lovely. Quite pricey but unique.More
