We came yesterday to celebrate mothers day and treat mum to a meal in her favourite pub. It was my first time visiting since reopening and honestly I couldnt fault anything! As soon as we arrived we were met by pleasant bar staff, quickly shown...to our table and had our drinks order taken. Danni the manager was incredibly attentive, along with her bar staff team and our food was absolutely amazing, everything we wanted and more! We will definitely be back again soon.More

Visited last night for dinner. We arrived and had to wait awkwardly at the bar as no one was serving. I ended up having to ring the phone to get someone’s attention… The pub itself is nice inside albeit it was a bit cold. We...only had mains but they were big portions, tasty and all seemed fresh. Burgers were good. Sausage and mash was nice and the steak & Guinness pie was really nice too. Service was good and friendly throughout.More

Just returned from The Chevin after an excellent lunch. New owners have transformed this place to a cozy pub with a new menu, good beer and sensible prices! Ignore old reviews this pub is now worth a visit. We had fish/chips and sausage/mash. Good portions...served hot. Friendly service and, as before, good car parking with a great views. We will be back.More

The Chevin Inn is under new management and I urge you to return. The menu is small but perfect. The food was delicious and homemade. I had the mushroom beef burger: it was huge, fresh and hand made . Served with chunky proper chips. The...service was quick and friendly. Black sheep on tap was great . All in all, a great hidden gem that you definitely need to try. Thank you to the new hosts.More

Lovely pub but beer price of £6 was high and also order brisket beef burger but when it came was a minced beef burger so misrepresented on the menu. I didn’t realise until later.

Great location but food was massively over priced. Gammon , liver & burger were below average and expensive. The vegan burger was very poor and no chips were available for vegans. The server was nice.

First visit here, recommended by a friend. We were put in an area at the top of the stairs that lead to the bathrooms. We literally stuck to the carpet and it smelt damp. The doctor is dated. The food was average at best. My...potato curry was bland and cold. The mixed grill meat was tough. The coffee was absolutely awful, it had that cheap bitter Nescafé instant taste. Extremely disappointing visit.More

Went for lunch on a dreary Sunday afternoon. One of us had Sunday lunch which was it's usual excellent quality. One had the liver....it was a tough choice between that and about 4 other dishes on the menu, including game pie. I had made the...right choice and was served with delightful (if a little too much) mash, veg and onion gravy. Quite how we had room for desert is a mystery but we both had the rhubarb and strawberry Eton mess....plentiful and lovely and sweet. The waitress/bar maid Yasmin was attentive, polite and not over bearing at all. Only the weather could have improved our visit today. Will definitely be backMore

We have been many times and have enjoyed the food and atmosphere, our most recent visit was extremely disappointing, the starters were ok but the mains which was a mixed grill was very dry and the steak was also very tuff, For a all in...price of almost £150 for three, expensive for what we got, will think twice before going back.More

Visited today and have a good meal but was disappointed by the price (£20 for a Cesar salad) and by the behaviour of some of the senior members of staff. Had a lovely waitress who was doing a great job whilst being trained but the...chef persistently undermined her, openly criticising her in front of us. The owner- I believe- then came and had a rather loud conversation with the chef whilst the poor waitress was going to listen to our orders- she was then chastised for not writing every little detail down! Unfortunately due to this I wouldn’t go back as it made the table feel quite awkward!More

The fish and chips we ordered were of very good quality. However, our review is poor due to the shock when we paid our bill. £29 for a bottle of white wine!! Totally out of order in a mediocre pub restaurant.
