This is a small and quirky little place that gets very busy selling delightful Chiffon cakes and other delectable delights. Nice range of hot beverages, but the best are the Matcha Chai Lattes which are so delightfully different. Pleasant services and something a little bit different.

Little Matcha Girl is adjacent to the Cygnet Theatre in Preston Street, This bijoux coffee shop serves great coffee. The cakes are tempting, something a bit out of the ordinary. Its a great place to spend some time while you're waiting for your show to begin.

I had a very busy week and wanted a place to relax near the water for a coffee. I ordered the recommended matcha the staff suggested and a delicious cake. It was a perfect little spot to sit and relax.

There was a table of 4 that stood in front of me in the queue line. They ordered, and i ordered next. I ordered a takeaway matcha latte. However, waited for 10 minutes and approached the waitress to ask about my order. I realized that the table in front of me had received all their orders. Was asked to wait abit longer. Went out to wait for another 5 minutes and then realized people that were behind me getting their orders. I approached the waitress and was met with a sarcastic remark. She mentioned that the other customers behind me came first ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
*IMPORTANT NOTE: this happened a year ago and this establishment might have changed for the better or the waitress is not working there anymore. The matcha was excellent and the environment was great, however, insufferable customer service back then marred the entire experience for me. It was the first and last time for me.

My partner and I have enjoyed good service and great coffee from this café - conveniently located on Preston Street, I highly recommend it.

Nice cafe, friendly staff, but no dairy free food available. Coffee was average. Other family members were satisfied with food and drinks.

Unfortunately we had a bad experience. I am sure this place is great if you are a single person or a couple of friends with no children. This cafe is just not suitable for people with babies or children, there is no space inside for a pram and no high chairs were offered to us. We had to sit outside at the only two little tables as all the inside benches were taken. The little tiny 30cm in diameter tables are made of flimsy metal and very unstable. We ordered breakfast and drinks, it barely fit onto the surface and was very uncomfortable. One small nudge against the table leg from my baby who was in her pram, and all the food went flying off the little table. We managed to catch one meal and one coffee but the rest was ruined.
They offered to make us a new meal (not a new drink) which I was so grateful for as really the table was so flimsy, food should not be served there. People had left from inside and we were able to squeeze at the end of a table. When we left we were asked to pay for the new meal? I told her the table was so small that it was quite unfair for her to charge me for this? She shrugged her shoulders and was quite distant and uncaring about the whole situation. They are definately not sympathetic towards parents with children at all. I ended up paying $52 and an extra $12 for two meals and one drink. Rediculous. May as well go to the Hilton for breakfast. Will not be back. Would rather go to Fiend just a few shops further where we are welcomed with open arms and there are enough tables and high chairs. Very disappointed.

What we wanted was a little out of the ordinary - needed an early start on Sunday.
Menu was not extensive but in typical Japanese style, looked interesting. We tried their omelette and savoury pancakes as we needed a substantial start for the day. (Sorry guys, can't remember the exact and interesting names)
Result - very tasty and filled our requirements beautifully. Thank you and we will be back.
Prices a little on the high side but well worth it.

The matcha lattes here are simply the best. They often do matcha flavoured muffins which are to die for. If you go early enough they are still hot.
I have also been here for lunch and the salads were excellent.

After eating breakfast out we always go somewhere different for cake and tea.
This place is located just down from The Cygnet Cinema.
It’s small inside with shared tables if you decide to eat there.
They have a pretty god selection of cakes.
We had the Strawberry Shortcake Roll and the Early Grey Soufflé Cheesecake. The shortcake was pretty nice but I found the texture and taste of the cheesecake a bit strange. Maybe I’m just not use to this type of cake.
The service was very good and the place was busy.
Street parking is available right outside.

We had coffee and the servings were smaller. A lot of fruit flies as we have our drinks so it wasn't very pleasant.

They have coffee plus matcha drinks, & toasties, cakes and granola bowl. No full breakfast sets, though. Nice food but limited seating. Bill for 3 of us with food and drink was $40.

Yummmmm! Such a great place if you love Matcha. We sat outside and watched the passing parade while having lunch. We had the mushroom toasted focaccia which was delicious, followed by Matcha layer cake which was delicious, and a matcha latte and black sesame latte, both delicious!! They’re closed Monday, which I keep forgetting after having made the trip! I’ll eventually get back there on the right day ... can’t wait to get there and sample all the other items on their menu. Thank you for existing Little Matcha Girl!
