Our History. The White Hart Hotel, owned by Southern Brewing Co. was one of Albany's first local breweries until it shut down in 1906. In 1909 the building was demolished for construction of a new two-story building. The White Star Hotel opened in 1910. The White Star Hotel's were aligned with the White Star line, one of the worlds largest shipping lines which included the famous 'Titanic'. Some of the White Stars ships that docked at the Albany jetty were the 'Medic' September 1912 and the 'Ceramic' August 1913. The 'Nomadic' is the only ship that still exists today. Its refreshing to visit a hotel that delivers what you expect from this type of establishment.Very friendly staff who assisted us with drink choices, explained the menu when queried and efficient wait staff tending to our table. Nice job white star.

Nice food well presented. The place is clean and tidy and the staff friendly, attentive and polite. Always nice to find that in a place of hospitality! The food was plentiful and very tasty. Good choice of beers and wines.
