Stayed in Bicheno several days and ended up here multiple times. Great bread and pastries, and I can recommend the little passionfruit cream cakes. Also a nice hot chocolate which included marshmallows (on the side) without me having to ask. Between locals and tourists it...can be very busy at peak times, so maybe stagger your arrival?More
Had breakfast here two mornings and one lunch (due to our motel having no options to eat supposedly cover related). Egg and bacon roll and a good coffee before heading south to wine glass bay hit the spot, as did the pie on the way...back.
Staff were friendly and the bakery was very popular with both locals and tourists. Note it has limited seating so its first in best dress.
Highly recommend as its an "old fashion" style bakeryMore
Called in on our way out of town on a Saturday morning. The bakery itself looked good with a large variety of yummy cakes & pastries.
Unfortunately, the coffee was very average & the blueberry muffin I had was a bit dry. Maybe as a...bakery it was nice but not for coffee.More
Nothing offensive about this place...it's typical of a small country town bakery. Nothing special about the food (despite the array of show ribbons on the wall) it's just solid fare. I had a bacon and egg roll - which to note is not made fresh...if they still have some pre-made ones in the pie heater. Consequently, the egg in mine was dry, but still a reasonably tasty brekkie. My wife had a sausage roll which was good without being great. Which is probably the best way to describe the place: good without being great. I did spy the freshly made bacon and eggs on a plate with all the trimmings and that looked pretty good. Perhaps that's the go. Some of the cakes looked pretty good but it was brekkie for us so didn't partake. But there was a steady stream of people coming in and buying so they must be doing something right.More
