While staying in Kingscote, we ate here twice. The food was delicious and the service was very good. The owner, was the son of the apartment owner where we were staying and they are an Italian family. The food was very tasty. I was disappointed...they did not have the eggplant main our first visit but I did have it the 2nd time. The veal rage penne was flavorful as was the lamb shank. Local wine from Adelaide and their vineyards was lovely.More

A nice restaurant behind the main road, so nice and quiet but very busy. Booking is advisable. We had a lovely meal, very fresh fish (possibly caught locally?). Staff friendly and helpful even though busy. Loved the atmosphere.

I love to eat and very rarely do I walk away sad after eating, unfortunately this was time I did.  All the food lacked flavor, we had a gluten-free pizza, a salad, and the lamb and potatoes.  While all edible we were sorely disappointed in flavor. ...The pizza had tons of veggies and still no taste.  The pears in the salad tasted canned.  The outside ambiance is nice enough and they had a good amount of gluten-free options, but unfortunately I would not recommend this place at all.More

I lived in Italy seven years and I found the true taste of Italian cuisine! This was quite unexpected. The chef is from Modena, his mother from Puglia, two places where the food traditions are excellent and he is obviously a very good cook. His...wife was welcoming and the staff efficient and very pleasant.More

We ate at Amadio Vino E Cucina and it was an amazing Italian Restaurant. We had their salad which included pears, walnuts and gorgonzola followed by the homemade gnocchi which we regretted to see it come to an end. The local Shiraz was also very...good. Service by Federica and her staff was timely and efficient . The gelato was also a great dessert. We would go back again if we could!More

Amadio's have been around for a year or six under various management regimes. Consistency through those years by way of opening hours, menus and food quality was, well, generally erratic. New consistent and capable management, have finally stabilized and enhanced this destination into something it should...have always been. As a couple, we visit this Restaurant on a monthly basis. Restaurant is  a word I don't use lightly, as my expectation is that I'll be offered a meal experience beyond what I can create at home, for which I'm happy to pay. Quality Restaurants in Kingscote are a little thin on the ground unfortunately. Amadio's don't have a monopoly, but are damn close. The most important thing to do is make a booking! - preferably a day of three in advance. The rest, ambiance, service, food quality, value for money and menu range align in a subliminally consistent experience.More

What a huge surprise to find this level of Italian food on an island!!! Everything was just of such high quality it blew us all away. Pizzas are some of the best we’ve had in years and the meatballs tender and delicious. Staff were super...friendly. It does get busy so I would recommend that you book to ensure you get a table. We were celebrating a birthday and they went over and above to accommodate us.More

Desperately looking for a restaurant that was open at night on Kangaroo Island, we came across this Italian place and we didn't regret it. Sooooooo good! Had lovely cocktails, with bread and olive oil/olives and afterwards the gnocchi. Delicious! We finished with what was probably...the best tiramisu we had in our entire lives. Real Italian place. And staff is amazing. Go there!More

Booked Amadio’s as we love Italian. The food was quite nice but we were disappointed that they had run out of pizza and garlic bread. Meatballs were delicious

We booked for a change from a pub meal and were blown away by the food. The staff were very friendly and appeared to be enjoying their job. Some of the best gnocchi I have ever had. Highly recommended when in Kingscote.

Definitely, our favorite restaurant on Kangaroo Island. Excellent Italian food! We loved everything we ordered. Crunchy outside and cheesy yummy Arancini. Handmade KI potato gnocchi was so creamy and beautiful truffle flavor, coming in the aged pecorino cheese wheel. Excellent presentation and so delicious. And...the best Melanzane alla parmigiana!! So tasty! We enjoyed our desserts, too. The best Tiramisu, melting in the mouth, heavenly delicious. Also, Cannoli was beautiful and strong tasty Affogato was divine. And a big plus is the very friendly staff. They made our birthday dinner super special. Highly recommend!!!More
