I love the bakery - really fresh bread, pies and cakes, baked on the premises every day. Willie's pies are packed with flavour and you are spoilt for choice will all the different varieties of bread. Also has fresh sandwiches. Don't miss this hidden gem in Russell.

We bought lunch from here to take on our hole in the rock boat trip. It was average to say the best. Shame there isn’t other places available in Paihia to get food for a day trip out. Very disappointed. Higher prices and skimpy fillings in sandwiches and rolls. Not very appetising.

We got rolls and club sandwiches, cakes and pastries most days to take with us to the beach, or on trips. Delicious and great value.

The smell as you enter says it all. Clearly freshly-baked whatever you order. And tastes delicious. We stopped by on a road trip and had a feast of a lunch by a lake a few hours later.

Used them for buying bread rolls and pies for snacks/lunch well priced and good food. You need to get there early in morning as they close after lunch.

Approached here tentatively, as some reviews indicated high prices, average product. We only purchased cream doughnuts and sourdough bread. Found both to be of good quality and reasonably priced. Other goods on display appeared to be good value prices to us

Smoked fish or Beef and cheese pies are yummy, definitely a must eat at least once when visiting Russell, I had one everyday for a week.

Stopped in for a quick bite. Pies are reasonably priced and equally savory. Not the best we've ever had, but definitely worth another viist.

Delishous. The owner is a lovely lady. Very clean and fresh food. They also will make a packed lunch with a roll, a sweet and other goodies. They require a days notice for a packed lunch. I’m looking forward to ordering one in the next few days. They open at 7:30am but close about 2:30.

We stumbled upon the bakery while looking 4 reasonably priced breakfast. Pleasant friendly service! We had beef/cheese & beef/Thai chili sauce pies ($5.50 each) hot & YUMMM! Both were outrageously delicious & we told them we would return tomorrow! We went back later, same day 4 a large loaf of sourdough bread ($5) 2 make picnic lunch 2 take 2 beach. Bread texture was beautiful! You can't go wrong here 4 pies or bread! A true NZ experience!

We had the sourdough and it was fabulous came back time and again for a fresh loaf. Cakes were also gobbled up quickly. Lovely ladies behind the counter.
