Booked for dinner. Seated outside in the cold. No heater and no indication we would be outside dining. Unfriendly staff.

Eight of us enjoyed a e great evening meal at this pub a little out of the CBD in Bendigo. The choice of beers and local wines is extensive and the meals were outstanding. While the menu may not be extensive as some, some of...the in'house' specialities are highly recommended as is the staple fish and chips which was really fresh and perfectly cooked. The garden was a perfect setting on a balmy March evening. With friendly and efficient service we enjoyed a great meal together. 10/10.More

Not even if you are in or near North Bendigo, go and support this gem of a public establishment because what they are doing deserves community and other support. BTW... you can sit in their version of a beer garden, which is actually "the garden"...that the kitchen uses. Great idea... needs great support. Go help.More

I have been dining here for several years. Every time it is excellent from service to quality of food and drink. Writing this I can't wait to return again.

Everything falls into place here. Games, huge range of craft beers, great atmosphere, pretty big beer garden, and awesome service. Honestly, one simply cannot go wrong with this place.

Vin has not been here before but dinner with work colleagues. TA reviews were excellent. Vin had gnocchi with tomato and mushroom - not bad but certainly not better than average. Main course gnocchi $25. Range of dishes for party of 8 - everyone satisfied...but not raving about the food. Some interesting selections on the wine list. Vin preferred a Mitchelton riesling Blackwood $50 per bottle. Very good value. Tuesday night and surprisingly busy. Service good but probably could have done with another server. On this night just average. But would I give them another go - yes. Enough to suggest could be better on another night. Will return.More

Absolutely enjoyed a meal and a few craft ales at this modest venue. It may seem a bit more rudimentary than some of its local rivals, but that's actually a part of its genuineness. The banter between bar staff and chef was far more entertaining...than those 65" televisions that populate the fake pubs.More

I am sometimes a creature of habit. In Bendigo tonight and my choice of somewhere for dinner was easy. The Cambrian is the perfect local pub on a winter evening. I ate here weekly last year and was never disappointed. The food is wholesome and...tasty. The pub basics are there, but the real pleasures are the curries and Asian dishes. Just ask James the barman for his suggestions, and a craft beer to match. His knowledge and judgment are spot on. Tonight I had the hot pot, very satisfying. The mulled cider in Winter is amazing. Smooth and sweet like a warm fortified. The decor is old school pub, but your there for the food and the beers. When I’m next in Bendigo it’s a safe bet where I will go for dinnerMore

Set on a nice corner for a sporting club dinner we met. Warm, old school service and inviting menu. Craft beers range terrific. Has the veal parmigiana and delicious. Noticed across group meals that vegetables have never looked so good and tasty. Great venue for...groups, sports tv (corner bar) & quality pub grub. Old school hospitality.More
