birthday dinner

The food, ambience and staff were very good Room is very glamorous and the open fire was lovely on a cold winter's night. They also have a courtesy bus which was great, no one had to drive.

Our lunch was lovely, as usual. Little disappointed in wine tasting, as tables had to be divided, group of 10. The wine waiter, seemed to struggle with keeping the 2 tables entertained. I think if it was one group, it would of been easier for...him.More

Great restaurant

For a special night out you cannot beat dining at The Gates restaurant. Lovely staff, great food and wine plus a stunning location. Highly recommended.

Delicious family dinner

It was so nice to come in from the cold and dine here. The dining room was warm and cosy and so was the welcome from the staff. Complimentary welcome drinks for the adults and even the kids, that did make us all feel special....The food was really delicious, the bread was soooo good too! My oldest is 9 and she found her meal to be too small (pasta), the portion was enough for my 6 year old though. It would be good if they offered a slightly larger portion for older kids. Good quality selection though, I was very pleased they don't just serve up nuggets and chips. Thank you, we will be back!More

Amazing service and great food.

We had been staying in the Hunter Valley for work for the week and tried many of the restaurants associated with the vineyards. This meal and service were the best by far. The setting was pretty nice too😉. I cannot rate this restaurant highly enough....The little extras just make the night! What a great experience and next time we are in the Hunter, I know where i will be having a meal!More

Amazing!

We cannot rate highly enough!! We visited last night Saturday 16th July for a cute little dinner date. From the moment we walked in until the moment we left the food, service, everything was just amazing! Drink and bread on arrival was so lovely and...not expected at all! Thankyou so much guys, you were so attentive and the food was ON POINT! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! Couldn't fault a single thing! We will be back very soon for another amazing experience!!More

birthday lunch

atmosphere was amazing not to mention the food and wine. the staff were excellent and friendly and made it a very enjoyable lunch. will definitely be back. the dry aged steak is to die for. thanks

Wedding Anniversary Lunch

Lovely lunch to celebrate our 49th wedding anniversary. The food was yummy, the wine was just right and the service was excellent. We had lunch in the glass conservatory with sunshine poring in, which was great as this was 21st June, the shortest day of...the year. My husband had the aged black angus which he enjoyed and would recommended to anyone who enjoys a good steak. To finish off a lovely lunch they surprised us with a lovely dessert with Happy Annivesary written in chocolate on the plate. An excellent experience.More

Great Dining Experience

The food was amazing and the staff were attentive and friendly. The Rib Eye steak with truffle potato purée was devine. The cocktails and desserts were also delicious.
