Had a lovely long lunch with a friend. The food was sensational, very attentive staff (without being in your face) I was very impressed with the selection on offer and also the fact that things like the sourdough bread and crackers on the cheese platters...are made in house and they churn their own butter. I would definitely visit again.More
Good food made from quality ingredients by a chef with an eye to the modern tastes of patrons but with no cheap and outlandish flourishes. The accompanying wine list has high quality offerings. The service staff carried out their duties perfectly: attentive, friendly and helpful...in a respectful but ‘untoadying’ way. This is cut above dining, valued as much for the whole experience as it is for the food itself.More
Had the pleasure of attending Restaurant Mason for their French dinner as part of Newcastle Food month. The food was delicious & perfectly matched by sommelier Stephane with some outstanding French wines. Throughly recommend Mason’s, it is a fantastic Newcastle restaurant, Chef Chris Thorton plates...up beautifully presented food that is just delicious!More
High hopes. Entree of eggplant and Bonito were excellentm. Faultless dishes. Mains - my vege tart was excellent. The duck was very disappointing. The duck itself wasn't tender and hard to eat. Deserts of semifredo baklava and coconut sago were both bad. We didnt eat...much of Either. Promising start- excellent service and drinks but proved to be a bit dissapointing overall.More
Celebrating a friend’s major milestone at one of our favourite restaurants. The Team, the food & the ambiance are amazing. From the time you walk in to the time you leave every detail of your evening is just wonderful. The sourdough & churned butter to...start is delicious. Scallops were beautiful & the duck.....The menu covers all tastes, is presented beautifully & w’ a fabulous wine list it is so easy to experience a complete culinary journey. Well done Team Mason!!More
This is the second time we have dined here. I have not even gotten to the dessert menu as I write this review. The food there is so good it will blow your mind. I am a foodie and this place
Is off the charts....If I can’t cook it or make flavours even like like it rocks my world. Sooooo gooood.More
For MY money this is currently the best restaurant for civilized and elegant dining.
Two visits in two months.
Both times delicious food and charming, professional service.
The menu is very short and does perhaps not change often enough (given the small selection), otherwise I'd...come more often.
Perhaps they operate differently in "normal times", when not effected by Covid.
Prices are fair for the quality, but the bill can add up with a few extras and beverages.
Lively atmosphere that can be a bit too loud with a large table or two of people who "celebrate" a bit too much.More
