Better half and I had dinner here last night. Place has a bohemian vibe and decorated accordingly. One can sit inside or outside, we chose latter. Interesting menu, the Tapas selections are all have an Asian influence, but the three we tryed were exceedingly good. The best were the Oysters, outstanding- a word I rarely use in my reviews. Best oysters had in a long time. The place and service not to overly fussy but right on point. Pricewise on point as well. Here for another 5 days, might have to convince the Mrs to eat here again. If your staying in Pahia for a few night's and want a mid range nite out of flavoursome nibbles washed down with great service, I recommend Tipsy's for sure- check it out you won't be dissappointed.

Went to Tipsy as I love oysters and they have a deal for $20 for 6 oysters (you can mix and match flavours!) and I was not disappointed! They also have lots of different food: tapas, burgers, curries... and it’s seriously tasty! The staff is so friendly, the restaurant has a very nice chilled vibe. Went there the first night we arrived in Paihia, and the second night! Should have definitely gone on our last night too as there was so much we didn’t get too try on the menu.

The funky atmosphere of this place drew us in. Because of the beautiful weather, everyone was dining outside, where flags from various nations of the world were used to create a makeshift ceiling that fluttered in the breeze and tiny lights sparkled from the walls and support beams. Given the name of the place, we ordered the oysters...and the tapas...and, for good measure, some prawns. All of the food was beautifully presented and delicious, and it was made all the more enjoyable by the humorous waiter who served us.

Lovely little restaurant and bar. Very laid back, great atmosphere and some good music - even the waiting staff were dancing around the tables. We went for the Tapas and the waiter recommend three dishes between two people which was definitely sufficient. We chose a fish dish, Asian style pork and a beef - all delicious. Good wines and beers available and, all in all, a very happy experience. Our friends went to Tipsy Oyster the following night for some live music and they said the place was rocking. I can believe it.

A nice selection of unusual tapas - all very tasty - especially the lamb. We also ordered half a dozen oysters - plain as we don't really like fancy toppings. All the food was nice and the service was pleasant but haphazard...food comes as it is ready but the first dish arrived before the cutlery and we had to remind our server that a knife and fork might help! The oysters were forgotten and arrived at the end...in spite of this it's a nice spot and certainly worth trying out.

Paihia has an oyster farm nearby in the bay. WE were referred to the Tipsy Oyster with the recommendation that their oysters were FRESH! Well that was an understatement. The owner advised us that the oysters were delivered fresh every morning and shucked just before being served. Well, was he right! They were plump, on the half shell, and delicious. The prawn tapas were nicely cooked as well. So, if you want the best fresh oysters in Paihia, head there!

Was very disappointed as we spent close to 1000$ on food and drinks and was rudely denied service I will never recommend this place to anyone. Very annoyed and will make sure to tell everyone I know that this place is crap. Plus food was kaka.

Thank you for your response. We have to slow your friend down because she was getting intoxicated. Everyone finished the food and having fun till the time we had to cut down on alcohol it’s a law called sale and supply of alcohol act 2012 all restaurants have to comply with it. We don’t know why you have taken I such a way like all small businesses we have worked very hard after Covid and it not fare on 12 people who work here that just because you have a platform to abuse us it’s ok. Bill was half of that we have just proved to be a responsible hosts.. sorry our sincere apologies

This place advertises itself as a tapas bar but traditional tapas was nowhere in sight. Waitress had to explain every dish. As they mostly had weird and wonderful names.... Lively place with loud music. Definitely aimed at the extensive local backpacker market rather than the cruise ships. The bar is right opposite Paihias’ backpacker row. The food took about 30mins to arrive but drinks were delivered very quickly. When it finally arrived, the food was actually really tasty and we ate every scrap. Highly recommended for those who are seeking a bar primarily rather than a dining experience.

Was recommended Tipsy Oysters by a local, describe the food and service best in Paihia. Walked in, got great vibes from the start. Relaxed and chilled atmosphere. 2 vegans here, but that was no problem. Micky got us sorted. Look in his pantry and brought out two Vegan boa buns - chickpea and black bean filled, with fruit salsa, hummus and avo mouse. Bloody beautiful. Will recommend my travellers to hit up this spot for good grub and even better guest service. 10/10!!

We were passing on a camper trip up north and decided to have a slightly late lunch. We fancied some oysters and the tapas. We found the restauarnt was handy and being good weather decided on the outside seating. we ordered some oysters natural and mixed, with some beef tapas. Service was prompt and the food was delicisous - the owner was attentive and proud of his restaurant, which has a quirky casual vibe. We will be back if passing again

I had second thoughts when my wife and I went in but the staff were really friendly. We started with drinks and then ordered off the menu. The food was amazing, it was so good we ordered more and then more again. Three glasses or wine and five beers later we were still eating beautiful dishes delivered in way that just made you want more. The restaurant has an outdoor area as you enter but you can sit inside as well. Thank you Tipsy Oyster Tapas and Bar, Hope to come back soon.

Dining couldn’t be more casual in this cantina feeling restaurant in Paihia and it hits just the right note for holiday dining . Energetic wait and bar staff who are super friendly and helpful in guiding through this strongly Indian / Asian biased menu . All served super quick making it great to take hungry family and the chilli is low on the heat scale so even easier to please everyone . We had a great dinner and the summer sangria drink was really special . My peach Long Island iced tea lacked anything of the anticipated punch and the barman did try to remedy this but was unsuccessful in giving this its usual pizazz . Definitely appreciated the effort to sort out the $19 cocktail and won’t put me off going back and recommending to others .

We absolutely loved everything about Tipsy Oyster Tapas and Bar. The staff were helpful, attentive, friendly and thoroughly explained the different parts of the menu (as well as recommending how many dishes to order). The atmosphere is fun, bright and welcoming. The food was delicious. The chilli honey cauliflower and Sri Lankan tikka chicken were huge hits. We got the 12 oyster mixed platter and enjoyed trying all the different flavours. Highly recommend!!

We were blown away by the quality and taste sensation we experienced at the Tipsy Oyster. We went with Tapas options. The cauliflower was incredible. The popcorn shrimp so tasty and the jalapeno mozerellas balls were melt in your mouth. We ordered a dozen oysters to share between myself and my 2 teen kids. But we ended up having to order another 6. They'd never tried them before. Unfortunately for my pocket they are now big fans! Service was really friendly, very helpful and we waited only about 5 minutes for the first dish to be brought to the table. The lively atmosphere is great and there was some awesome love music, a guitarist/singer. An awesome vibe. This is a place you cannot miss if in the area.

Went in for dinner and up the ramp was a look a like Elvis Security Guard that thought he would wear his Elvis sunglasses....the service was outstanding, and the drinks came very quickly, ordered Tapas Chicken one and a meat one, servings are small and quite expensive but very yummy. If you like cocktails they are great but $22 for one is a bit much but great location and very colourful seats and tables
