Julio's is attached to the Holiday Inn where we were staying for a girl's night out. We were greeted by the manager for happy hour as we returned from our show in Subiaco. We had a dinner booking for 7pm so we thought happy hour would be great to have before dinner. We enjoyed the discounted prices for our drinks and were then invited in earlier than 7pm for our table.
We were seated and dinner orders taken. We had so much fun chatting away that we did not notice our dinner had not arrived after an hour! The manager came to our table very apologetic and expained that it was a problem on their end for why our dinner was delayed. He brought us complimentary foccacia to keep us going until it arrived. It was worth the wait, we all ordered entre sized meals and they were huge! We loved it. So between our lovely catch up chat and friendly service from the staff we enjoyed our night out. We would return again for sure.

We have eaten here a few times as we often stay in the attached hotel or nearby. It seems to have gotten even better.
We had the garlic bread with mozzarella, pesto, and salad to share while we waited for our main dishes to be cooked.
Perfectly cooked bread,
Wonderful pesto and lightly dressed salad.
I had the chicken, and my wife had the gnocchi. Everything was perfectly cooked hot and so tasty.
We also had a side of chips that had a hint of truffle and parmesan and a salad. The staff were all friendly and professional.
I would recommend Julio's to anyone who loves Great food.

Breakfast was included in our tariff at the Sage and my wife and I enjoyed our meal selection on both mornings, I particularly liked the Mediterranean Big Breakfast. We also opted to have dinner in the restaurant on the first night and room service on the second. My wife selected the BBQ prawns and I went with the gourmet Italian pork & fennel sausage, parmesan mash, pickled red onion and gravy. Different to what we expected but enjoyed. Our wine selection of Chain of Fire SBS and Xanadu Shiraz was most enjoyable.
Room service included the steak sandwich with Dandaragan organic rump, Crauti, aioli, chilli, truffle mustard, Italian cheese sauce & chips and was very tasty and filling. The cheese board with chefs selection of cheese served with
crispbread, fruit bread & WA Elixir raw honey was poor, I'd estimate approx 120g total in the three cheeses included.
Service was impeccable on every occasion.

So incredibly disappointed. Went to Julio’s years ago when it was an old house converted into a restaurant with soft furnishing and family service. Now it’s a holiday inn eatery. We were given the worst table near the kitchen and my husband’s elbow was 5cm from the drinks fridge. We asked for a better table but were told no even though the restaurant was only half full. Had to contend with a noisy kitchen and the fridge being open and shut many times. Hard chairs and wood floor (felt like Dome.)
As for the food, entree was underwhelming with the mortadella straight out of Cole’s deli. My spaghetti was under cooked (no not al dente) and my friend’s lamb was dry and tasteless. Over priced.
Horrible experience. Will never go back.

Sunday 3/9/23 Very disappointing. A friend asked about the cocktail special and was told by the waitress that no cocktails specials on a Sunday yet the promo adverts inhouse stated it is available before 6pm. Gnocchi was luke warm and not hot. Waitress removed my cup of Irish whisky before I finished it. Desert was excellent , salmon cooked very well. Finished meal went to pay. Well the bill was so wrong. My son meal ordered was not available, he re ordered and then was charged for it? Extra coffee over charged added over bill, cashier confused, we had one coffee and Irish coffee not 2 coffees and Irish coffee. We asked for tap water and got slugged $14 for still water, WTF, is tap water not free!!! Should be according to liquor license. Handed over cash - do not accept cash = WTF. then handed over card WTF have to pay on debit card no way, got that fixed up. Why should clients pay credit card service fees when they do not take cash? I'm so sorry but this restaurant failed us tonight, fathers day dinner, especially when cashier tried to rip us off another $40 plus.

We have been to this restaurant a few times and it’s been ok. We booked a Christmas lunch and it was such a disappointment. The food was fine and plenty of it, but the wait time was incredibly long . The manager and staff became so stressed because the chef and kitchen could not cope with the amount of patrons. Because of the wait time we got our sweets takeaway . To make matters worst I requested on numerous occasions prior to the lunch that three people could not have seafood ( surprise we were served sea food ) .
It is better the restaurant did not advertise a Xmas lunch if they do not have the staff or capacity.

Asked to split a bill to pay for beer on personal card and food on work credit card. Not possible, “computer says no.” That’s hopeless. If you’re going to charge me $13 for a pint of beer, at least split a bill for goodness sake. Food was pretty good.

This restaurant is attached to the Holiday Inn in West Perth. This review considers dinner, although as we were staying at the hotel this was also the place where breakfast was served. The building is over 100 years old. Decor is rustic, and might not be to everyone's taste. However, the food should be. The menu is not extensive, but all the better for that fact. I especially enjoyed the Scaloppine di pollo with marsala & mushroom sauce & whipped potato. Service was efficient and the staff catered for once of our party that just wanted a salad. Some good wines.

Had a wonderful meal at Julio’s! Very generous serves for both entrees and main meals. Very reasonable drink prices and large food serves make it good value. The service was both friendly and efficient. Would recommend Julio’s - could not fault it in any way!

Julio's is an iconic name long associated with the Perth dining scene. Such a rich history is hard to ignore, and even harder to live up to. So when Julio's re-opened as part of the Sage Hotel, it had no option but to live up to past expectations or crash & burn.
COVID-19 has hurt the hospitality industry far harder than many can imagine. Many restaurants have closed, relocated to "cheaper" premises, or simply downsized.
So far, Julio's has survived intact.
The alfresco will be delightful in warmer weather, the interior is industrial warehouse meets 1950's californian bungalow exposed bricks.
We were promptly greeted and seated. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Water and wine was topped up regularly without needing to ask.
The menu is quite small. A few shared snacks, some pasta, a few mains, and desserts. The wine list is bigger than the menu...
Having said that, there is a quiet confident professionalism evident in the food execution that screams of a menu purposely built.
We shared Risotto balls and Pancetta wrapped Camembert before tucking into Salmon and a Rib Eye. This got washed down with a lovely Pemberton Pinot Grigio.
We dont normally opt for dessert, but we found room for serves of pear cake, chocolate date pudding, and coffees.
The Camembert was delightful , my rib eye was perfect, the pear cake was beautiful. The risotto balls were nice, my wife enjoyed her salmon, and the choc pudding was delicious!
My only criticism and it is very minor, would be to lose the strawberry sauce on the pear cake. Alongside the beautiful cake, chocolate crumb, gelato scoop, and vanilla smear...the strawberry sauce dots were one component too many in an otherwise perfect dessert.
Pricing was surprisingly reasonable especially when combined with an Entertainment Card discount.
We had wanted to try Julio's for years, and were disappointed when it closed. Happy to say that it definitely lives up to the name and legacy. Thanks to the staff - we had a wonderful dinner and would happily recommend Julio's to others.
Cheers!

Back at this Italian classic after a long time. The food and drinks menu have significantly improved, was suggested to try the lamb and it was an absolutely spot on. Also, the margarita was an absolute killer. Great job by the team and kudos to Shara, great job mate.👍🏻

Booked here for a Saturday night. Looking forward to meal based on previous reviews here. Greeted at door and seated promptly. Lovely ambience. Menus offered. Water delivered. Drinks order taken about 5-6 minutes after we arrived. One drink was incorrect. Ordered mains and not too long until they were served. Delicious. But ..... no followup to see if all was okay, plates removed and had to then ask for dessert menus — after we attracted attention. Had to ask twice for water to be replenished. Dessert order taken after a 10 minute wait. One dessert arrived before the other. About 15 mins later second dessert arrived. Described as gelato in a box. And it was gelato in a plastic tub surrounded by a paper wrapper. No excuse then for why deserts not served together. Desserts listed on main menu — and not all of them — different price to that on dessert menu. No bill to table. Have to go to bar area to pay. We were given the gelato as complimentary. $4 gesture as the staff acknowledged, unprompted, that this had been an error. Yes, Saturday night. Tables did not all arrive at same time. Disappointing. Probably would not go back.

This restaurant is matched to Sage hotel. Often there appears to be a lack of communication between restaurant and hotel. Hours given by hotel don’t match restaurant.
We dined last night and checked breakfast hours. When we came downstairs for a busy schedule the chef had not arrived so hotel guests were turned away. No staff had arrived for the advertised 6.30 am opening. Not even a coffee could be offered. Not good.

Julios was formerly a fine dining experience with excellent food. It is now below average Pub Food. A piece of very average steak, no sauce a sparse bit of green salad and some overcooked wedges. I would be embarrassed to serve a meal such as this to guests in my own home. I do not consider the serving boards to be hygienic.

Located in the Holiday Inn on Hay St west, where affordable dinner restaurants are scarce. Interesting food, pleasant service, good wines by the glass. Spaghettini with seafood was so good my partner ordered it again on our second visit. I enjoyed the pappardelle al ragu, which was pleasantly flavoured with perfectly cooked pasta, but I could detect none of the “slow cooked beef” in the sauce on my serving. I had the chicken on our return visit and enjoyed it very much.
