My husband and I go regularly out for breakfast all over Perth. But we keep on going back to this place, as it is always good. The coffee is great, good choice of meals. I had the mushrooms, walnut pesto and poached eggs on sour dough. Eggs cooked perfectly, bread nicely toasted but not a dried out block. The chef here knows what he is doing. The service is always friendly and efficient. Also you can sit outside, down from the main restaurant area, still table service and dogs are welcome. Becoming very much a favourite in Perth.

This breakfast bar is now open Thursday and Friday evenings, as well as for breakfast and brunch. The bar is open for drinks, and the wine list is quite extensive. The food is modern Australian, with breakfast staples, like Eggs Benedict on the menu. Mounts St is close to the City, the Breakfast Bar is popular with hotel guests and apartment dwellers in the area.

Mount Street Breakfast Bar was highly rated. Being a self professed ‘foodie’ and a coffee lover, this restaurant seemed like a perfect option for today’s brunch. However, it turned out to be an awful experience. I’ll start with the positive. The waitstaff and the food itself were wonderful. The awful involved the apparent manger of the establishment, Asian and approximately 5’9”. We had reservation for brunch, a table for five. He outwardly was rude and disrespectful to our server who was in training. I was asked to pay at the cashier counter. As I was paying he asked me how long myself and my guests would be ‘staying at the table’. I told him not much longer. We were waiting for my son & nephew to return from using the toilet. My credit card was charged. He then told me that I ‘needed’ to hurry up, other people are waiting’. What followed was a threatening confrontational argument, wherein he challenged me physically. This is my first visit to lovely Perth and my last visit to this otherwise fine restaurant.

This is the second time we have been to this Cafè- the last time I took my dad out for his birthday we were wedged up against the glass wall on a tiny table. If we were larger people we wouldn’t have fit…and they had the gall to have signs requesting the patrons socially distance, whilst there was no room to move for fear of bumping into another guest! The food was delicious though, so my partner and I gave it another try today. My request (and gripe) was that I switch the poached eggs out for fried on the mushroom toast- the waiter immediately said no, as it would ruin the aesthetic of the meal. I understand that people often Instagram their meals and a fried egg may not be as visually pleasing as poached, but are you kidding?! I’m not able to eat runny eggs at the moment as I’m pregnant, hence the request, and I wasn’t planning on photographing my food, I was planning on eating it. Further to this, the staff treat you as though you are an inconvenience (prior to my request as well as post). You can find food of the same calibre elsewhere, without the attitude, so I wouldn’t recommend this place.

We went to this bar to pick up some coffees on Saturday morning around 11:15am. Due to no parking space i had to drop my wife to go in and order coffees. First of all, there was no acknowledgement what so ever from staff as soon as she walked into the door. Da barista and the waitresses kept ignoring her presence until she had to ask someone where to order the coffees from. She then ordered the coffees, paid for them and grabbed chair to sit on while she waited for the coffee. After couple of minutes a waitress came and asked her to go and wait outside the bar for her coffee in da rain as it was a takeaway order. My wife asked her why she had to wait outside in da rain, and rude waitress replied just because its a takeaway order she had to wait outside and other customer had to sit just because there order was a dine in. I believe whether customer spends $1 or $100, they all deserve to be treated with respect. None of the customers should be asked to go wait outside in the rain while their coffees are being prepared. This definitely was not due to the covid restrictions as if it was, why was then restaurant packed to the roof? Why were customers not seated 2m apart from each other? I find it seriously offensive asking a customer to wait outside in da rain. Everyone deserves respect whether their order is dine in or takeaway. You should train your staff appropriately to know how to behave around customers. All your staff appeared as if they are not happy to be in that restaurant. If i dint have parking issue i would have asked the waitress to return my money and cancel my order. On top of that, the coffees we got served were burnt and we had to throw them away. "DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL"

It is a nice enough place with friendly staff etc so I have no negative comment in that regard. Unfortunately patrons with dogs are allowed to sit at the under cover tables on the veranda. In the instance I witnessed a dog was permitted to sit on the chair alongside its owner with its head on the table, licking food off and being fed food off their owners' plate and given a drink of water from one of the glass drinking glasses that was on the table. I thought that was unacceptable and should not be permitted in a public cafe environment. I believe dogs should be kept out of the tabled area and restricted to the tables out on the pavement. What people do with their pets in their own home is their prerogative.

After being greeted by lovely staff and placing your order for coffee you then have to decide on which combination of food you would like to eat from the extraordinary choices on the menu. Hubby had chilli crab scrambled eggs with chorizo on the side and I had poached eggs with salmon, spinach & tomatoes ... both came with toasted sourdough bread. The food was delicious as were the coffee and juice and I seriously doubt I will be able to eat another thing all day, not even room for a second coffee :-) Parking can be a bit of a problem and the walk back up the hill to the car was a challenge for this old lady but it was well worth the visit. Thank you.

We found the Mount Street Breakfast Bar near our apartment by accident. The coffee is good but the eggs are spectacular. I had chilli scrambled eggs and my dining partner had smashed avocado with soft eggs, both worth returning for.

A ' Big Shout out ' for Mount Street Cafe. The service is impeccable. The mushrooms with poached eggs & pesto on sourdough were the best I have ever tasted. You will be my 'go to 'place for breakfast any time. Thank you.

Wow! Great position. Such welcoming and interested staff ( the Spanish guy and American girl were stand outs). But the food. Oo, la la. Roasted mushrooms and felafel were both award winning! They make their own felafel daily in a dedicated pan to avoid contamination with other foods.

This eatery near Kings Park offers all the usual breakfast staples, but also has a few different menu options not commonly seen plus a full drinks menu. I’ve always been partial to a champagne with breakfast so I love this! We tried the asparagus with poached egg on toast with taramasalata and the lamb with tzatziki. Both excellent. Staff were great, they have good coffee, there’s a mix of indoor and outdoor seating and they are open until 2pm. Highly recommended

This quirky little cafe tucked away in the leafy streets of Kings Park is a local gem. The service is exceptional, with friendly staff happy to have a chat & make you feel welcomed. The menu is full of local delights and combinations that gets the taste buds dancing! We had a wonderful breakfast of French toast and the second dish was crispy falafel with mixed grains. Two flat whites made to perfection were a great way to finish breakfast.

A wonderful little gem tucked at the bottom of a beautiful tree-lined (residential) street and a short stroll from nearby Kings Park. The perfect spot to refuel before or after a visit to the surrounding area and many tasty food and drink options on offer! Friendly and accommodating staff further elevate the dining experience.

I had promised I would give this place a second chance. Here we go! I had Roasted mushrooms with pesto on sourdough with poached eggs. It was perfect. Well cooked poached eggs this time and tasty mushrooms. Nice presentation. I like this little place. I may have a last breakfast there tomorrow before leaving Perth.
