"WELCOME TO BABA JOON Persian soul food Ardalan is an experienced Persian Chef on the Gold Coast. Living on the Gold Coast for the past 10 years, he has immersed himself in the hospitality industry where he fine-tuned his specialty dishes in a local Persian restaurant. His love of Persian food from childhood and interest in blending ingredients from Iran inspired him to open his own restaurant right in the heart of Surfers Paradise. A labour of love, his creations feed the soul. You could say it’s soul food because it’s food that many Persians grew up eating at their family dinner table. This restaurant is rightfully rated highly! Everything we ordered was delicious, although we did find the lentil soup a bit salty for our taste. The prices were good value and we took advantage of the BYO and took our own wine which they provided glasses for.

Baba Joon has an authentic homey feel and such great food. We shared a mixed platter and it was amazing. Staff were attentive and Ardalan the chef came out to chat and recommend different dishes. Its a great atmosphere and $ friendly. Highly recommend the restaurant.

I dined at Baba Joon Persian Grill with some friends, and we all enjoyed the experience. The restaurant has a warm, inviting atmosphere, and the dishes truly felt like home-cooked meals. The Persian flavors were authentic, with a nice variety of options, including vegetarian and gluten-free choices.

Nice spot for a casual lunch. Friends had recommended this restaurant. Never tried Persian food before so didn’t know what to expect. Was pleasantly surprised. Shared the Shah Platter which was plentiful and tasty. Lady who waited on us was very pleasant and even offered us a complimentary Persian tea to finish off our meal.

I came for dinner with friends for the first time, and I highly recommend this place. We will definitely be back! I’m Iranian so I know what to expect, and the dishes we had were all exceptional - tasted just like my mum makes it ☺️ We ordered the mixed platter, ghorme sabzi, gheymeh and garlic yogurt. All the meat was tender, everything was seasoned perfectly, the rice was fluffy and the serving sizes were so generous. Ontop of the delicious food - we were greeted with such warm reception. Thank you so much for having us!

As Europeans we just loved the Persian grill. Shan platter seemed too much for us and we thought we are going to grab the left overs; yet, my sceptic hubby finished all the lamb cutlets, most of the chicken and most of the rice. I was left with rice and prawns which was more than enough.
The cherry on the top was the red velvet and the best coffee. Highly recommend Baba Joon, Gold Coast👍

We had an excellent meal at Baba Joon tonight. We ordered the mix platter and that was plenty for just the two of us. Cost $67. Very very tasty food.
It was very busy with lots of reservations and lots of walk-ins, so I recommend reserving a table. Waitresses were friendly and did a great job. Would recommend if you’re in Surfers Paradise want a really yummy fast meal

Last night when we were desperately searching for a good persian food in “Surfer Paradise” we found that this restaurant has got wide range authentic persian food.
We chose “Mix Platter” & “Shah Platter” from menu’s which had a mix of all our favorite kabobs.
We loved it, they were juicy, well seasoned and top of great for value.
We definitely recommend it to all other nationalities who are eager to enjoy lovely persian cuisine.

This is another great time at this unique Persian Restaurant in Goldcoast. Customer service, quality of food, etc,all are 100% satisfied. If you want to have the best experience in having Persian food, just go " Baba joon Restaurant". Lovely staffs(Saba and Mona) are on the floor with great customer service. The master chef (Ardalan) as always cooks a great quality of food for his customers.
Good on you guys. Definitely, anytime I come to Goldcoast, I will be there:)

Absolutely delicious meal here last night! We shared the platter with lamb and chicken and have enough left over for lunch today!! Meat was really tender and not salty. Rice was fluffy and well seasoned. Salad and grilled tomato tasted amazing! Such good value for money and service was brilliant. We were originally sat inside but wanted to sit outside instead and staff helped us get a table no problem. Will definitely be back on our next trip down to surfer’s paradise!

We don’t usually eat Persian food and thought we’d try it. One person in our party has a peanut allergy so we are extremely cautious. The staff were very good and confirmed that it was safe to eat and we were delighted with the food, it was delicious! We will definitely be back and highly recommend!

Love this place,always go there when I am in Surfers Paradise. The food is delicious and staff is very friendly and helpful. The position of this restaurant is perfect,it is close to Cavill Avenue and it’s very convenient,it is walking distance. I have tried few different dishes and all of them were delicious and portions are quite generous. I highly recommend this restaurant and I hope you will enjoy it,as I enjoyed it for few years I am visiting Surfers Paradise 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Just delicious, fresh and tasty, as good as previous owners, can't wait to return. When you get the skewered meat with rice and salad, mix them all together with a squeeze of lemon or lime, yum diddi dum !!
