I hesitated to put "best ramen in Brisbane" as I haven't tried all the others so it wouldn't be fair to them, but suffice it to say I'm a fan and connaisseur of ramen, have eaten it all over the world including Japan, and my...experience at Taro's is one of my most memorable.
On this visit we shared takoyaki (octopus balls) and spicy cold tofu, both delicious.
I ordered my favourite, the "high heat fire tonkotsu". You can customise your ramen bowl with extra noodles, nori seaweed, egg, char sir pork, sprouts, shallots, kimchi or chilli oil. I don't, because I think it's perfect as it comes!
The decor is non-existent, typical hole-in-the-wall cheap food court cafe style with metal tables and chairs. That's not why we go there. The food is wonderful, and cheap to boot.
I've always found the service friendly and efficient and cannot recommend the place enough (although I'd be upset if I couldn't get a table next time I went because of its new found popularity!)More
