Obviously a very special location overlooking the Opera House.We opted for the 6 course degustation menu.So much originality in these quality dishes.We really liked the roasted pasture raised duck. AND the bone marrow noodles.The wine list is expansive with lots of options some of which...are surprisingly reasonably priced(circa $100!).Very attentive service by Michelle.Not cheap but a real dining experience which shouldn’t be missed.More

Thank you, Quay, for delivering a dream evening in celebration of a 70th birthday. What a perfect night for our special auntie!! We booked the private room for a group of 7 and it was the perfect size for 7 or 8. 10 would be...squeezy in our opinion. We were petrified a cruise liner would be in port that night but thank goodness - no!!! The service was perfectly measured the entire night. I’m only sorry we did not ask the name of the supremely professional Englishman who looked after us all night. It was fantastic to have the consistent service of one person - very ‘comforting’. He kindly engaged in food/wine/general conversation with us wherever it flowed, but he left us to our own private banter at other times. He read the room perfectly. Nothing seemed to be a problem. Some of us went with the standard Quay wine pairing and some went with the higher sommelier’s pairing…. and then we shared all pours amongst the ‘couples’…. perhaps not fine dining etiquette, but it generated fun wine conversation and there seemed to be no issue or ‘downward looking’ on our sharing behaviour!!!! What we thought was quite ‘funny’ was that the standout dish for all of us was the ‘spring pea’ dish. It seems quite ridiculous that something that looked SO simple could taste so amazing. I probably would give the pig jowl first prize personally, but visually it might not suit everyone. Only one little thing to mention: our family member who liaised with the reservations team from the start, to get all the details in place for this special occasion, did find it ‘hard work’. The replies to his enquiries seemed very generic and he had to follow up often to really get comfortable that everything was actually going to go well with the special occasion. It does raise the issue of ‘big fancy restaurants’ forgetting their place when it comes to making the guests really feel like they are the important ones…. rather than restaurants just knowing they are prestigious and everyone wants to ‘be there’… in saying that, it was only that ‘pre service’ that was an issue and the ‘feel good factor’ on the night was spot on. Oh finally…… thanks for arranging fireworks for us :) What a superb evening all round … phenomenal even!!More

It is hard for a restaurant with such an amazing reputation to live up to such high expectations.... and yet Quay continues to do so. Each course below us away with the experience of exquisite presentation, delicious flavour combinations and fresh ingredients and the opportunity...to taste previously unexperienced morsels. The service was immaculate as always and the pace of service was perfect. Can't wait to go back.More

Took partner out for a romantic dinner last month and was not dissapointed. Ended up spending a fortune but dont mind when you get 5 star food and dervice and great views of the harbour

Visited for my husband's birthday and we had a fantastic experience. Products used for the meals are extreme quality and the staff make this meal an amazing moment with their knowledge and customer service . My 14 yo son came and the staff was very...attentive and looked after him so well too. It is an expensive meal but definitely worse it!More

This restaurant continues to deliver the top class quality and service confirmed by many previous reviewers. (Albeit at a commensurate price.) The real USP of QUAY is the iconic view out over the harbour. With The Bridge on one side and The Opera House on...the other it’s arguably one of the best backdrops on the planet for that very special occasion. HOWEVER, if a huge cruise ship is in town (which is frequently) instead of the Opera House you get a very up close and in your face view of the ship, which I found imposing and intrusive and ruins the whole experience. Thoroughly recommend - but check the cruise ship time tables before booking!More

Visited for my 50th birthday and what a treat. The food was incredible. We had the eight course menu and chose our own wines. The food was like nothing I have ever tried before. A marriage of flavours that danced in your mouth. The floor...staff were hospitable, friendly and not pretentious. Thank you to all of the staff at Quay as they made my 50th birthday so memorable and I can’t thank them enough.More

great service and great food if..................it was a nursing home. Blended 0x, pureed eel, glorified meatballs and ice cream in my 6 course degustation. not one memorable dish unfortunately.

Wow! We had the 6-course degustation at Quay and it exceeded all our expectations. We were a bit nervous about trying some of the dishes, but they were absolutely delicious - perfectly balanced flavours and showed the best of some very unusual ingredients. It was...a lovely treat to have a few 'surprise' courses thrown in that weren't on the menu. The service was beyond incredible, everyone was so attentive and gave us lots of info about the food and drinks on offer. The atmosphere was relaxed, easy to have a conversation and stunning views over the Harbour Bridge (even with a cruise ship in port blocking the Opera House view). I cannot wait to go back some day and would highly recommend this for a special occasion.More

Very very delicious food at Indian at the cresent ininvercargill , it's been many years having this great tasty food from Indian at The Crescent invercargill. Always been great service by staff members and great honored to Owner of it as well. Thanks again 😊😊😊....My favorite is chilli paneer and daal makhni is very delicious with naan bread, another curries are awesome too👌 😋. Highly recommend to everyone.More

This was our fourth visit to Quay and we were super excited about it having had at least two bookings cancelled during Covid and our trip up from Melbourne for the NYE event cancelled on the day because of staff shortages. Based on our past...experiences we were filled with anticipation. Unfortunately it really wasn't as good as it used to be, or at least as we remembered. Don't get me wrong, the food is delicious. Nothing was poor. But not enough was amazing. And when you pay $1000+ it needs to be amazing. The raw scallops stood out with the smokey cream being a highlight. But the young peas were bland and the white coral dessert is visually spectacular but average on the palate. In some ways the service was spot on (Luke you are great) but there were misses. Our desserts arrived before the dessert wine and I was counselled to eat up whilst the glass remained empty (I cancelled the order). What one waiter told us was a bonus glass of wine another revealed as a mistake. This all sounds fussy but five star prices mean one expecslts five star service. Finally it's a shame that 8 and 10 course menus have now been condensed to 6. We left hungry and got fast food on the way home. On the positive side, it means next trip to Sydney we will try something new.More
