Namaste means a respectful greetings in Nepalese and Indian language(Hindi). Namaste Indian Restaurant is situated in Bundoora, Victoria in Australia, about 20 KM North of Melbourne CBD. The restaurant is established in 2001. The Restaurant serves Nepalese & Indian food. The Menu comprises of aromatic curry and flavorsome Tandoori dishes ranging from huge selection in vegetarian, lentils, cottage cheese, Biryanis, lamb, chicken, seafood ,charcoal roasted kebabs, Tikkas and various breads(Naan, Roti, Paratthas etc.) To sweet delicacies. Everything in the menu is prepared and cooked in the premises by highly experienced and qualified Chefs. The entire Namaste team is awaiting your patronage in order to guide you through contemporary and exotic spice journey which begins right here at Namaste in the heart of Bundoora. Great find

Went here with two other couples not expecting too much on a Saturday night. We had the banquet and the food was excellent as was the service. Only slight downer is the banquet had to consist of two vegetable dishes and could not swap for another meat based one. We were the last to leave and there was no rush to leave. Also BYO. I’ll be back.

Slow service.

This has been a favourite of ours for years but I would think twice before returning. Having sat down at 6.30 and been given wine glasses for three the other two wanted a beer. They ordered it and waited. But nothing came. After 15 minutes they reordered the beers. Again nothing came. After 30 minutes my husband was about to cause a scene. We called the waiter again and this time they arrived fairly quickly. It took one hour for our mains to be served. No, the restaurant was not busy. The food as usual was very good but service was very poor.

30% increase in prices for same menu

We have attended this restaurant many times. Unfortunately, the prices have increased by 30% with the same menu. There are now white tablecloths, but the same food and no other 'upgrades' We discussed this with the waiter who didn't seem interested in our concerns. Very dissapointing. We won't be coming anymore, they are enormously over priced now.

Disappointing

Took the waitress a minute to acknowledge us, Had to get the Menu's myself from the counter once seated, Not a good start. Chicken Tikka was good even after being a bit overdone, Aloo tikki was also good but had to ask for the chutney , that was it. Lamb Rogan Josh was horrible, had a strange smell, like the meat was off, called the chef and he did not know what to say except blaming his suppliers, Namaste Chicken was a joke with boiled chicken pieces in a weak sauce. If you love Indian food then this is not the place to be, base gravies and boiled meat do not make good curries.

Cosy little place for a dine

Had my dinner alone here and it's very easy to get here even by public transport. There's spacious parking around and no need to worry on that. The food, I would say average. The authentic Indian taste was there but not in a highly admirable range. The dishes I ordered were served with no big delay and the service was very friendly.

Consistently good

We have been here before on a few occasions and the quality has always been good. The menu has a wide selection of food, however wine options are limited and probably best described as "cheap and cheerful". It is a busy restaurant with limited seating in a comfortable cosy environment. It was a full house on Saturday night, and a booking is recommended, although we managed to squeeze in after 8pm with an earlier guest leaving. There is a lot of competition with three other Indian restaurants in the near vicinity. This was the first and has been in operation for quite a few years, and in our opinion remans the best of the options.

Beautiful Indian food, great prices.

Used to be a regular at this restaurant but haven't been for quite some time. Attended with friends last Friday night and noted a few changes, particularly the outside eating area (too cold for us on this night). It does appear that there is new Management but this hasn't affected the quality of the food and service which were both excellent. Food is full of flavour and couldn't fault it, staff very friendly and obliging. Prices are excellent, four adults had a more than satisfying meal for a mere $79, no corkage charges for BYO wine. This is a small restaurant and space is at a premium so I wouldn't suggest it is a good location for a large group, aside from this, I highly recommend it.

Always great food

This is a great local restaurant which is consistent in quality and service. Menu has plenty of options, and the food tastes great. Decore is simple and staff are attentive. Restaurant space is small, but they configure tables to suit the party size and in a way that still provides privacy for the diners. Acoustics are also good for a quiet conversation. Wine menu is limited, but you can always BYO.

Good Indian food and decently priced

We ordered a banquet for 2 for dinner on a weeknight. The samosas and chicken tikka entrees were tasty but a bit dry. The garlic naan was amazing - great for garlic lovers. The daal makhani was great too - maybe a bit too sweet but still tasty. The coconut chicken was my favourite, my partner also enjoyed the beef vindaloo. The banquet was around $30 and we had enough for leftovers to take home so pretty good value.

Best Indian in the area

I've eaten here with friends and family on multiple occasions and the food is consistently good. Very well priced. Interior looks a bit mismatched but doesn't really matter when the dishes are so tasty. A nice little casual restaurant.

Really tasty Indian fare

A small restaurant with a cosy warm atmosphere. Serving size is good, and food is tasty and well priced. Staff are friendly and efficient. A good option for a causal dinner for two or a larger group. The take away service is also pretty good.

I ordered on line at 7 to pick up at 7.30. When I arrived at 7.30 I was to.d "10 more minutes". At 7.50 I was told " 10 more minutes. At 8.00 I was again told "10 more minutes". I asked for my money back and cancelled the order. There was no apology, no acknowledgement that I , and several other customers had been waiting outside in the cold being lied to and told, "10 more minutes", in fact no concern for any of their take away customers. Their on line order system asks for a number of contact details yet they do not choose to use these to advise customer era of their delay. Once a frequent restaurant patron but no more. Their food is not worth the wait
