Popped in as just reopened a few weeks ago, very quiet in the bar, it has been done up and looks great, served at the bar and not overly chatty, good pint of john smiths, a couple of tv's showing foitball, have sn area with...a pool table so had a few games on it.
Bar did slowly fill up, we was in around 15.00 and left aroud 18.00, a nice few pints and had a good time, it does have plenty of parking and its a short walk to train station so very handy, give it a go 😀More
Went for a family lunch with my wife, son, grand daughter and great grand daughter the other Saturday. We had previously booked a table for 6 people at 14.00pm that day. On arrival we were told that there was a private party booking and we...would have to leave before 16.00pm as the room was need for this. After 15 minutes we were asked if we wanted any drinks by a rather young waitress. The drinks eventually came and we then ordered lunch from the menu supplied. We ordered the carvery ,from the menu, but were told that due to the party booking, later that day, it was off the menu. We then ordered BBQ Ribs, again from the menu, and were told that was also off. Getting a bit sick by this time we asked the waitress " what have you got that is on the menu". Eventually we did manage to order some food and by this time the clock was ticking towards 14.45pm. The food when it came was mediocre and not what we had expected from all of the advertising we had heard "Under new ownership". The only people looking after the other customers and ourselves was the young waitress and one " not so happy "barman. We asked for the bill, as there was no time for dessert, and left just before 16.00pm. It will be a long time before venturing there again, probably when it is under new management, anytime in the foreseeable future. We thought it was very poor value for money, although the décor of the restaurant was good, but where we were sat very draughty and cold.More
I visited for lunch with three friends. We were welcomed, drinks order was taken and we were given menu. We all decided we would have the small carvery. There were two meats to choose from turkey & beef and then help yourself to potatoes, veg...& yorkshire puddings. We all enjoyed our meals and all had puddings. Good selection. We found all staff to be very friendly. We will be visiting again and some of the ladies have already revisited. Plenty of car parking. Good choice.More
Wanted to try this because it's a lot nearer than the carvery I usually go to and not many places do one on weekdays. I eat early but even so was a little surprised to be the first person in the pub at nearly 12.30....The carvery was somewhat average, the meat had obviously been sat on the hot plate covered with tin foil for some time as it was rather dry. On the plus side, a nice selection of veg including onions, on the minus side no stuffing which is a huge minus for me, and a yorkshire pudding that was obviously heated in the oven from frozen.
People sat on the table next to me asked for menus and got what looked like typed sheets of paper and were told they might have to wait 50 minutes for their food even though by this time there were only 12-15 in the pub. I know the place has reopened under new management but this, and other aspects seemed extremely unprofessional.More
Could do better. Carvery was very good though we had been mis-informed, option of small (£5.95) or large (£7.95) was given, later found out there was a medium while we were eating, got charged £9.95? No real greeting or smile from the manager, serving staff...were friendly. Re-fit looks good, but i kind of like to feel welcome.More
Had a meal in there today. Barman was very efficient and helpful. It seemed he was on his own so a great job he done. Very polite towards us. Will definitely return to the White hart again. Thanks to Jim the barman....
Really want to support this local pub being a corby person. Bar is lovely beautifully clean and staff very friendly. Music really good too. However bought a bacardi and diet coke; bacardi was from a bacardi bottle but when I tasted the drink it was...definitely not bacardi but a cheap imitation. Sad as i want this pub to succeed. 0leade serve the proper drinkMore
