Our family met in this welcoming pub to say our good byes with my son and his family leaving to live in Ozz. One thing for sure their last Sunday Roast in the UK will be one to be remembered. All nine of us loved...it and it was well worth the journey to all meet up half way. The land lady and her staff couldnt do enough for us. Plus most of the veg is home grown by her goodself. Thank you for making our day much more memorable.More
We have just finished a wonderful ‘lockdown’ takeaway from The Horseshoe. Beautifully cooked Lamb Shanks, Empire Pie (so good!) Burgers and Scampi accompanied with tasty, perfectly cooked, plentiful vegetables and all generous portions! Highly recommend this place!
Delicious fresh, well cooked and presented food all round, great service and lovely big portions!
Another wonderful visit to the Horseshoe. Everything was spot on, as usual. For starters we chose the whitebait, mushrooms with stilton sauce, lentil soup. For our mains we chose, Fish...& chips, homemade lasagne, scampi and chips, liver and onions with creamy mash and a fresh, perfectly cooked, plentiful portion of vegetables.
Thank god their takeaway menu will be on offer to see us through the imminent second lockdown.More
Last time I visited here it was prior to the pandemic and I was a bit wary of travelling out to it again but hey ho, why should a virus put me off especially as HMG had relaxed the hospitality rules. So mask in hand...(eventually going onto face), my wife and I headed over to see how they were handling the situation.
On arrival, we had the customary notices displayed, tables etc. were well apart anyway so not that noticeable if they had to do anything to enforce a 'new' standard in this front. Sanitizer was available for our use on entry and the bar manager gave us a nice welcome. Suggesting we take whatever table we wanted as all had been sanitized and we were the first customers so we settled down.
Table service was fast, efficient and extremely friendly. Drinks ordered and delivered and we were really feeling at home as the waitress was chatty and truly put us at our ease. Given the situation we are all in at present, this was very reassuring.
My wife and I settled for the cod and chips and as the waitress was taking my order, I commented that I really preferred the haddock which is normally done there. Response? No problem - she thought that there may be some although it wasn't what was on that evenings menu and two minutes later she confirmed that haddock was available so two orders were made.
A truly lovely meal, in a nice country feeling pub/restaurant which we will certainlly be visiting in the future - just a pity it is a car journey away for us. as they have a good range of malt whiskies.More
Food was incredibly yummy, I had the Wagyu Burger and can honestly say hands down it is the best burger I've had in a long time, thanks to the chef! All the bar staff were friendly and down to earth,Kai was very splendid like a...fine wine, the landlady Michelle made us feel like we were at home, very welcoming. Brilliant all round.More

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. All comments are appreciated and help us to cater for our lovely customers.
Trying to organise our wedding during COzvID was a very interesting experience. A week before we got married we were all set with a caterer to have an outdoor reception at our home. Then the rules changed so no caterer , no reception.
With just...one week notice Michelle pulled out all the stops and provided our 30 guests a COVID secure wedding reception. The food was totally amazing, all cooked from scratch and she even gave the guests 5 choices!!!!
She got a standing ovation from our guests when she finally came out of the kitchen.
The staff were friendly, professional and worked so hard.
Attention to detail with fairy lights in the garden and tea lights all over the dining room.
Such an amazing day.
Heartfelt thanks to Michelle and team. This is a big step up from pub grub. Made from scratch from great ingredients, the most important one being love .More

We were so pleased to be asked to be a part of your big day. Thank you for taking the time to review your experience and best wishes for your future together.
We returned to this pub on a really busy Monday and enjoyed a first class meal with excellent service. I have to highly praise the ravioli (crab and cray fish) And the fish pie was first class. Even the desserts tempted us: lemon posset...and clementine sponge, both awesome.
The pub clearly has a very talented chef who is passionate about her food (as well as being a lovely lady to talk to) and the bar staff were smiling and serene despite being as busy as could be!!
We will be back!More

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. It was lovely to see you (even though it wasn't your birthday) Hope to see you again soon.
Ate here with friends taking advantage of the government half price scheme.
Eating at the horseshoe is like sitting in a cosy living room! We were served by the lovely Rachel and Kai was managing the bar! They are a real double act and ensured...we were looked after,
Food was piping hot and delicious! Would highly recommend the pie! Full of meat and freshly cooked - well worth the small wait!
We will return very soonMore
Went to the pub for a lunchtime meal on the off chance that we did not need to book. Pub situated in an old stone building in the beautiful village of Lavendon. Very warm and friendly welcome. Great staff, great service and wonderful traditional pub...food. Had the pie of the day (steak and ale which was full of real steak which melted in the mouth) sauted potatos and veg which we noticed came from their own veg garden. Sat in a huge beer garden with lots of space to sit comfortably under the Covid conditions and a great place for children to run around and have fun. Will definitely visit again. Would give the pub 10 out of 10More
