Is a very nice bar where you can try nice british beers while listening nice music and chilling. Service was also attentive and professional.

Popped in, on the off chance, to see what was available as I haven't eaten any mexican food (other than chilli) for ages. Ordered a chicken chimichanga which came with a nice salad (with jalapenos, which I love) and a good portion of mexican rice....Recommended.More

Ordered a takeaway from here a while ago, took about 2 hours to arrive. When it did the food was warm, and a lot of the food was soggy (nachos/tacos etc). It's also quite expensive so this was disappointing.

Visited with my wife for a late breakfast after a recommendation from a friend, who's a foodie. The lady was very friendly and the food was very tasty. We both had the Mexican chorizo con huevos (selection 12), which consisted of a spiced scrambled egg...with chorizo, fried potatoes, bacon and a tortilla. Every element was tasty and had a slight kick of spice. The portions were perfect and I've been told to order selection 11 next time which is supposed to be even better. We will definitely be coming back.More

recently moved to the so I thought I'd try this place as my first take out. I love Mexican food so couldn't wait to try it as they are few and far between on the Wirral. for starters the food was over an hour late....I'm not a great lover of spice so purposely chose dishes that were not spicy. everything was covered in jalapenos and very spicy. it was also dry soggy and barely warm. I called the restaurant to find out where my order was just to be informed it was busy so I should expect it to be late. I disagree as I've worked in catering for 15 years and no you should never accept orders that you can't honour. poor food very overpriced and has sod all to with Mexico. would not recommend at allMore

I placed an order here and my order was over an hour late (it took 2 hours in total for the food to finally arrive), when I called to say the food was an hour late the guy said "alright love, not a problem" and...hung up on me. The food itself was so bad I had to bin it. And to top it off they replied to my review by saying the food was only 10 min late and I should "go to Maccies". Worst Mexican takeaway ever, but seriously worst customer service EVER.More

I have been a customer of Sombrero for some time. I've had meals in and takeaways and they have always come with my highest recommendation. But I've never had reason to send anything back before and WOW... I ordered a salad from the green patch...vegetarian menu. Everything is £1.50 cheaper. I hit the right button on the website and everything. They delivered a meat one so I called and very politely explained they I had sent the wrong salad. The Chef immediately started attacking me, he was extremely aggressive and kept shouting that I ordered the wrong thing. I asked to speak to the Assistant Manager and he passed the phone saying 'there's some twit wants to speak to you who thinks I can't f*&%ing read. The Assistant Manager admitted it was a website error and offered to send the right salad. Which I refused and asked for a refund. Needless to say I will not be ordering or eating there again. Disgusted.More

Absolutely disgusting customer service. First time ordering and £38 spent on meals for 4 people. Two of the mains ordered were the meatballs which come with rice. 3 small meatballs and a very small portion of rice for nearly £8. Called to check if we...had been give a starter by accident and told no so I said I’d like a refund then drove back to the shop. Took back the two meatball mains and the fajitas main as my boyfriend wasn’t happy with that portion size either. Owner was very abusive and shouting/swearing at me, wouldn’t let me speak, refused to give a refund for those items so I left and went back out to my car. The owner then came outside and continued to be abusive and argumentative with me and my boyfriend and the proceeded to throw £20 at me through the car window and told us to never go near his “f***ing” shop again. Also decided to call us a pair of “tramps” 🤨 never experienced anything like that in my life and never seen a business owner get so angry and worked up to the point where there were veins popping out of his head. My boyfriends mum also called to discuss the issue and he continued to be abusive on the phone to her. Don’t know how they are still in business with such an appalling attitude. Avoid at all costs. Will be reporting them to weights and measures. Food wasn’t even nice either from the bits we did try. Better off buying an old El Paso kit and saving yourselves money!More

We have eaten in at this restaurant several times and also had many takeaways. I highly recommend this place for tasty, high quality food. There is a fab choice of Mexican chicken, steak and vegetarian dishes along with tasty burgers. The staff are cheerful and...cook everything as requested. This place may be overlooked due to its location but don't be put off. It is well worth a visit and its great value for money. Give it a try.More

We've been coming here for years and the food has always been lovely, but won't be returning after tonight. We ordered a sharing nachos, 2 mains and a fries. The salad to go with one of the mains was missing, the portion of rice came...in a tiny container marked 'rice x 2' and I opened the Albondingas and there were THREE meatballs!! Called the restaurant as thought they may have given us the starter portion of Albondingas, but no, apparently you get 3 meatballs for a take away main that costs £7.50!! I'm not a big eater but I was still hungry after. Restaurant didn't seem bothered that our order was incomplete and thinks serving three meatballs for a main is acceptable as "food is made with fresh, quality ingredients" but what good is that if there's barely any of it?! Disappointing.More

I have been eating here for years and should have written this ages ago. The service here is always excellent, service with a smile. The breakfast particularly in question is the No.10 off the menu. This is a Mexican breakfast this comes with corn tortilla's,...fried eggs, bacon, fried potatoes with spicy chorizo and a tangy tomato salsa. For any spice loving foodies I challenge you to find a better breakfast anywhere ...... when I say anywhere I mean anywhere ... i am yet to experience the evening cuisine but if this sumptuous breakfast is anything to go by then I am sure it would be a treat.... All I can say is No. 10 No. 10 No.10 you won't be disappointed.......... well done girls. ....More

My friends and I visited sombrero for the first time this month to celebrate my birthday. There were 12 of us, we each took our own drink. The menu is very good and caters for all types of people. I personally enjoyed the meatball starter...which had a definite kick to it. I then had steak fajitas for main that came with refried beans, guacamole, sour cream and salsa. Not one person at the table didn't enjoy their meal and all said that they would be back! Great price, great evening, great hosts!More
