Best Food in General Luna

I've eaten at numerous places in General Luna and whilst all were good, none can compete with Cev for me. The food is out of this world, I have tried ceviche before but not like this. Aui was our server, she was excellent. She took time to talk us through the menu, and explained the difference between kinilaw and ceviche, also recommending dishes that we should try. We went with her recommendations of the Santa Monica and the Pacifico. Both were incredible but my personal favourite was the Santa Monica, I could have gone for another bowl it was that good. Fish was extremely fresh and the flavours are really well thought out. Will be coming back again definitely

Don't overthink it - just go

If you are on the lookout for delicious food, then look no further. CEV offers a great variety of ceviche and kinilaw – all super tasty, however my personal favourite is the Pacifico. We were lucky to get Aui as our waitress and she did an outstanding job. I highly recommend this place.

Utmost delicious and super friendly staff

If there is one restaurant in Siargao you are obliged to visit then this is the one. I arrived at 6pm on happy hour time.Certain drinks 50% off. I ordered the open water cocktail which was really good. The Santa Monica cevice was recommended and i gave it a try. Super delicious !!!! The staff was super friendly and dedicated. STRONGLY RECOMMENDED PLACE !!

Great food but couldn't hear a thing

The food hear is excellent and, being what it is, it's served very quickly. The tastes and freshness are great. Unfortunately, on the day we came, there was a brown out and they were running their generator. You couldn't hear a thing and people kept asking to be moved. They also turned the music up to try and drown out the generator so it was hopeless trying to have a conversation. They only have one dessert on their menu and when we asked for it, we got the usual Philippine response "out of stock sir". We were told it would be available at dinner but we decided not to sit and wait for 5 hours to try it. If the genset was off, I would have rated this outstanding as the food is fantastic. My suggestion, if the genset is running when you arrive, go somewhere else and come back another day.

Staff looking to clear tables too fast

The restaurant has a very simple setting, staff clears plates extremely fast to make place for new customers, you can’t eat dinner in peace, it’s all rushed. We had santa monica and pacifico. The grilled corn on top is no succes. Don’t go here to eat quietly.

Food so good you’ll start romanticizing it

CEV Siargao was a welcome surprise to this carnivore. I rarely try vegan food but since CEV was at the Top 4 recommendations of my travel agent, I decided to give it a try. Ordered a ceviche bowl and one of their vegan bowls, and my, it was such a great experience! Every dish was a flavor explosion; with the most unexpected ingredients turning up a delight in every corner. I especially liked the deep fried coconut and the garlic rice in the vegan bowls, as well as the bed of mashed sweet potato underneath the ceviche. Tasted as good as when the first “i like you too” rolled out of your tongue, and onto your high school lover’s. P.S. Try their ginger cocktail too! Yummyy🍸

The best in Siargao!

My son and I came from the states! Specifically California. In Cali, there’s a lot of ceviche spots, and we found this spot to be just like a spot back home. Or even better. Relatively cheap. The ambience was very cozy Staff? Exceptional. Our waitress took her time to answer all our questions Re food and its ingredients, how’s it made. Food? Amazing. The fish were fresh and the plating was exceptional. The owner/chef? YOUNG If there’s 1 thing I can criticize, they only accept cash. If you’re looking for a nice spot to eat at during your stay in Siargao, check out CEV!!! Please make sure to call for reservations.

Best tasting ceviche this side of Machu Picchu!

If you go here for dinner without a reservation, good luck. The first time we went, it was 7 pm and we were 8th in line! If a queue is this long, the food must be great. So we returned after 2 nights, and this time we went as early as 5:30 pm. There was still a queue but we were second in line. So we finally got to try their version of Gen. Luna ceviche/kinilaw (the 2 names mean the same, kinilaw is in Pilipino) and it was fine. Place also had a cozy ambience. Of course they also had other non-ceviche dishes but if you could only go here once, then the ceviche is a must-try. Do remember that ceviche/kinilaw is raw fish.

Best ceviche in PH

Went for the second time in a row. Pacifico Ceviche is the best fusion ceviche we have had in the Philippines. Coming from Latin America, ceviche is a staple plate in our cuisines here at Cev you find the best local take on a difficult dish. The toated corn resembles Peruvian choclo, the camote serves as nice compliment and the fish was as fresh as you can get. We tried grilled belly catch of the day (first day tuna second day Mahi mahi) cooked to perfection, skin was well grilled and flavor was intense. Had a couple of smooties and also not disappointed. Price for value is there. Menu is unassuming, simple, elegant and boost the chefs strengths. Also, you can tell he runs a tight kitchen and all staff was amazing. The rice (yellow) rice was remarkable as compliment to kinalae dish (santa fe). This is the best ceviche in the country.

I’ve been in Siargao for almost 3 weeks. This is the place that keeps bringing me pack. Never have I been disappointed. It’s world class Ceviche which really is to die for, presented like a finalist on Masterchef. The combinations are insane. The creativity of the bar and the use of space is bang on. Nothing compares. The happy hour cocktail is the best on the island. The coffees in the morning is too. And... not a bad place to party either. I’m going to have to say they’ve had the best DJ too. We absolutely love this place. The owner is one heck of a dude. Treat yourself to the experience!

Riche Ceviche!

We had dinner here. My girlfriend did a veggie bowl and I chose the Pacifico. I haven’t eaten ceviche much in the past, but really rate this. It was so fresh and tasty! I would highly recommend. Same for the veggie bowl. All ingredients tasted sooo fresh and full of flavor! Twix dessert was a little small but tasty too (only dessert option).

Can't go to Siargao without going to CEV!

No visit to Siargao is complete without a visit to CEV. Real solid each time with a menu like no other on the island (actually, can't think of a comparable resto in Manila) - so unique! Passionate staff and chef behind Cev's success that come through for the best dining experience.

Perfect place if you like good food. The ceviche was delicious, probably the best thing we have eaten in all of Philippines. Affordable without compromising the quality of the food. Cozy place as well. Everything was perfect!

Delicious - best in GL

This is by far the best meal we had while in General Luna. We ordered 4 places for 3 people a round of drinks and it was absolutely enough food. The Pacifico was the winner, but the Darku, General Luna and the Santa Fe were also delicious. The fish of the day was Tuna, and everything was fresh, great attention to flavour and detail and a perfect vibe for dinner with friends.

A staple in Siargao!

This place is just so cool. Well located, great vibes and more importantly great food. I really appreciated how friendly the staff were as well. Make sure you get there early as it wraps up around 9ish from recollection and you don’t wanna keep the staff waiting!
