Welcome is great. Just as it should be Like the waiter is knowing you enjoy great cuisine and is ready to make it. Dishes are very fresh, testy, and full of flavors. Thuna is unforgettable as well as the home stule “ile flottante”. Omg so...delicious !!! Cook and team are young and they are great. Not sure the price will remain accessible. Neg point was my choice of Mareuil wine, i tried for the discovery but Looks nobody finish the glass as much under the wonderful dishes we has. Address for cuisine lovers. Thanks again to young promising teamMore

We met friends for lunch in this small, central restaurant that can accommodate up to 26 clients - which means it's better to book. The lunchtime menu is very reasonably priced with a fair choice of dishes and a slate with a starter, main dish...and dessert which changes daily. The patronne is lovely, welcoming and cheerful and the food is delicious. If there is a minor negative point it would be the noise level - especially if, as we did, you have a loud group at the next table! Despite this we'll definitely be back...More

One of the things I liked most about the food is the lightness of touch. Two courses, Choux pastry with trout and wasabi cream, cod with butternut squash, peppery cress and flaked almonds were both full of flavour but not overpowering and the simple unadorned...walls and small unpretentious setting (about 26 covers, it gets very busy so book) make this a cosy, comforting experience. Our very friendly waitress was the only member of staff in evidence and worked her socks off all evening. A must if your in La Roche for any length of time and you can get a table.More

A warm welcome, pleasant surroundings, lovely staff with a passion for what they do - taking the time to explain and advise - and truly excellent food. The menu is not extensive but we all found an entrée, main dish and dessert to suit our...taste and at a very reasonable price considering the quality offered.More

Very unassuming but on target in all departments. Central, interesting menu, well served by interested staff and tasted wonderful. My friend and I had a lot to talk about and they timed course delivery beautifully.

Excellent food for a very reasonable price. The plus was to sit outside in this nice old street of La Roche sur Yon.

Quick unscheduled stop in this city while traveling. Great surprise! Warm welcome and service. Short menu but well managed and very fresh. The chef has talent, for sure. We were not expecting such a quality level while walking in. Congrats !

La Roche sur Yon is our Prefecture (capital of the Vendee Department) and so we visit quite often for official business and all so to attend the major hospital situated in the town. We have eaten in several restaurants in La Roche (mostly average, some...less than!) but only today found this little gem. It could not be more central being within easy walking distance of the Prefecture, the shops and adequate parking. The restaurant is compact (about 25 covers with some external tables in good weather), spotlessly clean, airy and not at all cluttered. The service is swift courteous and highly professional. We were eating with friends on their day off from their own restaurant....they were pleased with the experience. The menu is not too extensive but it is imaginative including some Vendeen specialities but also offering a wider range. For example we all had a main course of "Porc Colombian" consisting of very tender, slow, long cooked pork with vegetables, rice, spices and shards of fresh coconut. It was excellent. The food was hot, came to the table promptly and was well dressed. I am unable to comment on the wine list as our friends were hosting us and he selected the wine. Haute cuisine it may not be but it is certainly significantly above average and with the pleasent service this little place elevates La Roche which, as a town, is a little depressing. 3 Courses 20 Euros per person.More
