As a truck driver I am on the lookout for good food. I was dissapointed to say the least. Was served quickly but then it stopped. The locals coming and going not signing in and standing around the table I was seated at. Food was...slow the chicken nitty overcooked and dry the salad was a mess. Then the coffee never arrived until I asked again. Never again for me. They do a lot of fried takeaway as they are the only one. I go through there a couple times a week but stopping now NOMore

The burgers we had here were about the best ever. They were also very well priced. It’s not exactly fast food as it is all cooked to order, but it was well worth the short wait. I wouldn’t really want to eat in the cafe...though as it was just very basic and without atmosphere but we were able to take our burgers back to our digs were they were very well appreciated.More

You’d think with all this Covid, businesses would be more appreciative of the traveling public’s money. Not this place. Sorry we didn’t go across the road to The Timber Cafe now.

I walked in and was confronted by a very unfriendly woman. I was starving so ordered a coffee and some food. This matched her attitude, bitter and very ordinary. Go across the road. All the locals were parking and walking across the road for coffee....Follow the local advice.More

We stopped off in Surat for a walk around the town. This café cum supermarket seemed intriguing so we wandered in for a chai and iced coffee. Our drinks were well received and it was a great spot to observe the locals. Trade was brisk...and service was friendly. A great little country café.More

We were looking for an alternative to the pub meal and game across this little gem of a cafe. The combination Burger , Chips and drink deal at 12.50 was just on the mark.

I was returning to far north Queensland from outback NSW and chose the Central Highlands route. Driving into Surat is such a picturesque experience. This little bizness was open and welcoming and embellished my quick passing thru stop with lovely hospitality and quality items at...fair prices. It was a pleasure to stop and revive in Surat for a little while and invest my tourist $$$ in this friendly bizness. Thank youMore

Great service. Prices good for a very small town. Food at the cafe was great. Eggs cooked just how we liked for brekky. Went back a number of times. Will go again when in Surat.
