All reviews tikka masala salmon starter lambs liver kedgeree fish and chips side salad curries cakes under new ownership walk along the river owner thomas hand sanitizer beautiful lunch friendly helpful staff smaller portions lovely place to go feel so welcome
Visited this restaurant on Sunday 10 October. Friendly and relaxed atmosphere and staff all very, very nice and attentive, always asking if we were enjoying our food.
My starter was The Wee Scottish Fishcake (lovely), followed by The Three Day marinated chicken tikka masala (absolutely...delicious!) and dessert was Gin & Tonic Sorbet (scrumptious).
My husband had Chicken Liver Parfait, followed by lightly poached salmon and then Tipsy Laird Trifle all of which he said were delicious.
I would class this restaurant as Fine Dining, but not overpriced for the quality of the dishes.
Will certainly visit again the next time we're in Blairgowrie, and would highly recommend a visit.More
Wee get together with a friend for a treat during the week. Been a while since we have been to Cargills and we loved the look, very warming, no harsh lighting and the music was very pleasant too. My friend asked for a smaller portion...of fish and chips which, which they were more than happy to do. I had the Spanish Pork, which had so much flavour, absolutely delicious. Both had the dark chocolate cremeux and again the flavours of this with fruit, butterscotch and ice cream, went so well together. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Will certainly make this a regular visit and next time will sure to have some pennies on us to leave a well deserved tipMore
Requested a table for 19.30 pm by telephone conversation. Asked if we could make it for 18.30 as restaurant very busy. We agreed. Entered the restaurant at 18.30 and were sat at a table for two next to the toilets, beside the cutlery service, dish...dispensary, at the kitchen and toilet entrance. Ambiance poor. Restaurant felt very cold, tables and menus sticky with too much alcohol gel applied, fingerprints on both table and menu folder was wet and sticky with previous fingerprints on them. When we were seated there was only 3 other tables with customers already sat down, when we left there were a further 2 tables filled, so much for it being super busy when we requested a later time and sat out of the way at a poor seated table. Very very disappointing. Service and food was acceptable. We would not return otherwise.More
