We come in last week and had a Lovely meal with family and excellent customer service . Will be returning
We made a beeline for this very traditional pub having found it by accident a year ago when visiting the area. The staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful, exactly as we recalled from our first visit. The three of us each ordered a different roast...dinner and the food did not disappoint! Crunchy roasties, delicious meat, gravy you want to drink, tasty veg. One titchy grumble- I don’t think the Yorkshire puds are homemade. Great atmosphere, very British and lovely sense of community, everyone chats so you could come on your own. Also dog friendly! Parking is a bit tricky, the pub is on quite a narrow one way lane, no car park. But we’ve managed both times.More
Very friendly nice beer hand pulled, friendly staff and nice clients, Well worth a visit. aaonsite parking , nice traditional pub.
This is my local and Sundays are one of the best days of the week. The staff are friendly and there to help always. Chef Andy's roast dinners are legendary especially his slow roasted shoulder of lamb, loads of different veg, lovely crispy potatoes and...the best gravy ever.... The portion size is massive so you won't go hungry at all. Atmosphere is great and be sure to catch Ann who sells the tickets for the the meat raffle at 3pm its entertaining with a chance to win 2 £25 bar tabs on top of loads of fresh meat prizes supplied by Knights butchers. Lovely afternoon Thank youMore
Come here often for Sunday lunch, friendly atmosphere, friendly staff and great food!! Just what an English pub should be! Highly recommend!!!
Proper local Pub, good pub grub, well kept beers, old oak beams, log fire in winter, attentive staff. What more could you want.
Recently moved into the area and had lunch a few times here. The food is always freshly cooked with good sized portions. There is always a lovely atmosphere and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Dog friendly too, highly recommended
We popped into the George & Dragon today waiting for a car service 10 minutes away and were pleasantly surprised! I ordered the chicken burger and my boyfriend ordered the steak burger both of which were absolutely lovely and the service was spot on!
When travelling I often find it difficult in pubs to select a menu item, due to dairy and gluten allergies. The George and Dragon could not have been more amenable, adjusting a gluten free option to also be dairy free. The food was well cooked,...the chef spoke to me about the food preparation and all those in our party enjoyed their meals. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. We did not have a reservation but they were able to seat us, despite it being a busy night. The menu has a good selection of items for all tastes.More
